The Sennheiser EW 122P G4 Wireless Lavalier Mic System 566-608 MHzcamera-mount wireless lavalier microphone system features the proven combination of reliability, flexible control, and broadcast-quality sound that has made the EW Series an industry standard for videographers, journalists, and content creators all over the world.

The EW 122P G4 gives you the tools to adapt and meet the wireless challenges that inevitably arise on set. The frequency scan function automatically searches for the cleanest frequency at your location, while the adjustable input sensitivity on the transmitter accommodates mic levels ranging from booming voices to quiet speech, and even line-level audio.

The system includes an ME 4 cardioid lavalier mic, a bodypack transmitter, and a camera-mount receiver. It connects to a camcorder or a DSLR/mirrorless camera to capture crisp-sounding speech or dialog in noisy environments, for projects ranging from documentaries to wedding videos, corporate spots, and hands-free interviews.

  • The EW 122P G4 features rugged, all-metal chassis well suited for extended use on location. The lightweight and compact bodypack transmitter is easy to conceal. Its rounded edges are soft to the touch making it comfortable to wear for the talent. A locking connector ensures that your lav doesn’t detach at a critical moment, while a convenient switch allows you to mute your mic.
  • Using the included shoemount adapter, the equally compact receiver easily mounts on your camera without adding much weight. The included cables allow you to connect the receiver to the 3.5mm or XLR audio input of any DSLR/mirrorless, camcorder, or recording device.
  • Both transmitter and receiver feature LED displays showing reception quality, battery status, and audio level. To get you going quickly, they synchronize via infrared interface, with the simple push of a button.

  • The EW 122P G4 ships with an ME 4 cardioid lavalier microphone, which delivers a natural sound optimized for speech intelligibility. Its directional cardioid polar pattern helps to reject unwanted background sound, making it ideal in loud environments such as trade-show floors, busy public areas, or sporting events.

  • Adaptive-diversity reception for reliable transmission up to 330'
  • 42 MHz bandwidth with 1680 tunable UHF frequencies for clean reception
  • 20 frequency banks, each with up to 12 factory-preset channels to prevent intermodulation
  • Pilot tone squelch for eliminating RF noise when transmitter is turned off
  • Receiver with adjustable output range of 42 dB to match the audio input of your camera or recording device
  • User-friendly menu operation with flexible control options
  • Transmitter and receiver feature 4-step battery-life indicator
  • Auto-Lock function avoids accidental changing of settings
  • RF Mute function
  • 8 hours of battery life
  • Powered via AA batteries or rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack batteries (available separately)
  • Side contacts for recharging the Accupacks without removing them from either transmitter or receiver—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately)
  • Operate up to 12 wireless mics at once on set
  • Unlike digital wireless systems, the SK 100 G4 transmitter can transmit to an unlimited number of EW Series receivers

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can you shiping in india ?

A: Sennheiser does not allow us to ship this internationally. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Q: 2. Will these potentially interfere with lavaliers that have already been paired on a film set? I'd like to use these as IFBs.

A: Yes, the Sennheiser ew IEM G4-Twin Wireless Monitor System Kit (A1: 470 to 516 MHz) can be used on a film set where wireless microphones are already being used. As long as the 470 to 516 MHz frequency band will work in your area and does not already have a large number of wireless mics operating on the same band, there should not be any problems. The IEM G4 system offers 1,680 receiving frequencies,

Q: 3. can you add more receivers than two?

A: Yes you can. When adding additional receivers, make sure they are all on the same band and then just tune all receivers to the same frequency and it will work perfectly.

Q: 4. Other than the ME2II lav mic (upgraded?), what is different about the 112 G4 generation wireless compared to the 112 G3 systems?

A: The new Sennheiser p-112 G4 system has features above that of the G3 series, such as the SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter and the EK 100 G4 receiver, which sport an updated high-contrast LCD display, blue sync LED, and a dedicated escape button. The G4 series includes the ME 2-II Omnidirectional Clip-On Lav Mic, with improved lighter-weight design above the ME2 mic that comes with the G3 series. It also features an integrated windscreen and better frequency response. The Sennheiser ew 112P G4 system will come in appropriate frequency ranges that are in accordance with recent changes in allocation by the FCC.

Q: 5. Are these zero-latency? There is nothing more distracting than hearing yourself with a tiny delay.

A: These types of UHF frequency based systems will have the lowest latency possible when transmitting audio.

Q: 6. Does it work with iPhone camera?

A: This wireless system can be used as an external microphone when shooting video with your iPhone's camera, by connecting the included cable from the receiver to following adapters: Rode SC4 3.5mm TRS Female to 3.5mm Right-Angle TRRS Male Adapter Cable for Smartphones, BH #ROSC4 and the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, BH #APLAADAP.

Q: 7. Can the transmitter be battery powered? Perhaps via an Audioroot BDS?

A: While I haven't experimented with it, technically you should be able to. It's a 12vdc input. So as long as you have the right cable and an adequate battery, I don't see why not.

Q: 8. Can you tell me the serial number of these product?

A: The serial number is only provided after you purchase the wireless system. We cannot provide a serial number for an item that you do not own. If you are looking for the serial number on a wireless system that you have already purchased, you can find it printed inside the battery compartment of the transmitter and receiver.

Q: 9. When choosing the 112G4 lava mic how do I know what frequency range to choose?

A: The Sennheiser ew 112P G4 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME 2-II Lavalier Mic will come with 1680 Tunable Frequencies Across 42 MHz, so you will find plenty of open frequencies in any of the three blocks available. To help select an appropriate operating frequency range, the Sennheiser website offers a tool called the Frequency Finder. (Found here: http://bit.ly/2FrbS7v). This tool will show you which frequencies are open in your geographical area.

Q: 10. can each receiver receive a separate channel? one XLR feeds one receiver, the other XLR feeds the other?

A: This is not possible. The microphone inputs are configured as a stereo output to each receiver.

[Cardioid] Was very apprehensive about spending the $$, especially for live-audio gear that I know so little about. These came highly recommended from many colleagues and the lady at the store was super helpful in answering all my questions. Great quality product, and on the first use I was so grateful I decided to invest in it. Important to protect your ears on those loud live gigs!

[Lavalier] So far the mic works great. Hooked right up to my camera and the sound quality is excellent. I wish you could hook up two mics to one receiver, but other than that, it's a wonderful mic.

[25 kHz] Used this in greenhouses with fans blowing and still got crisp audio (even when subject is masked and not accustomed to wearing lav microphones). Great product, though I have not yet tried the omnidirectional lav of the same make. I will soon!

[Wideband FM] This is a high quality, pro/consumer grade product. Out of the box, the system is quick to setup and simple to use. Overall, it delivers good value and trouble-free results with flexibility for a wide variety of uses. You might decide to upgrade the included lav mic, but the transmitter and receiver are hard to beat. Yes, I looked at higher-end options at significantly higher prices, but they offered features I would never use, and solutions to specific problems I never encounter. In the end, it became impossible to justify anything more. For my needs, there is nothing better on the market.

[Lavalier] Quality on these units is outstanding. The value is great, too, to have two mono packs rather than just one stereo pack. We needed 6 channels, so 3 of these kits got it done. Very easy to use and pair as well.
