The Sennheiser EW 135P G4 Wireless Microphone System 470-516 MHzcamera-mount wireless handheld microphone system features the proven combination of reliability, flexible control, and broadcast-quality sound that has made the EW Series an industry standard for videographers, journalists, and content creators all over the world.
The EW 135P G4 gives you the tools to adapt and meet the wireless challenges that inevitably arise on set. The frequency scan function automatically searches for the cleanest frequency at your location, while the transmitter offers an interchangeable capsule design, allowing you to swap mic capsules with different polar patterns to suit your application.
The system includes a camera-mount receiver and an updated, lightweight handheld transmitter equipped with an MMD 835 cardioid capsule—ideal in situations where you don't have time to position a lavalier mic or you need to quickly pass the mic between several people. The receiver connects to a camcorder or a DSLR/mirrorless camera to capture crisp-sounding speech or dialog for projects ranging from wedding and corporate videos to red-carpet and man-on-the-street interviews in noisy environments.
The EW 135P G4 is backward-compatible with previous evolution systems, giving you the ability to mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 500 systems.

- The EW 135P G4 features all-metal construction and a lightweight handheld transmitter, well suited for extended use on location.
- Using the included shoemount adapter, the compact receiver easily mounts on your camera without adding much weight. The included cables allow you to connect the receiver to the 3.5mm or XLR audio input of any DSLR/mirrorless, camcorder, or recording device.
- Both transmitter and receiver feature daylight-readable LED displays showing reception quality, battery status, and audio level. To get you going quickly, they synchronize via infrared interface with the simple push of a button.
- The EW 135P G4 ships with an MMD 835 dynamic mic capsule, which delivers a natural sound optimized for speech intelligibility. Its directional cardioid polar pattern helps to reject unwanted background sound, making it ideal in loud environments such as trade-show floors, busy public areas, or sporting events.
- For outdoor interviews or situations when you're moving the mic quickly between speakers, you can swap out the included 835 cardioid capsule for the MMD 42 capsule (available separately), which offers improved wind protection, less handling noise, and a more forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern.
- To take full advantage of the microphone's dynamic range, the system employs proprietary HDX compander technology, preserving your sound without adding unwanted noise during transmission, and delivering audio with remarkable accuracy and quality.
- Adaptive-diversity reception for reliable transmission up to 330'
- 46 MHz bandwidth with 1680 tunable UHF frequencies for clean reception

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Which Aurey Lavalier Accessory kit would go with this system (small or medium)?
A: B&H # AUWSBS6Q
Q: 2. Can you turn on/off, mute and unmute on the mic?
A: Yes. Page 72 in the manual for the Sennheiser G4 shows where to find the mute button. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/901687.pdf
Q: 3. I've read that the AVX series introduces a 19 ms delay. Does this system introduce any delay? I will sometimes want to run wireless and wired microphones at the same time.
A: Hi Dave - the evolution Wireless series is an analog wireless system that operates on UHF frequencies - there's no delay with respect to transmission time. However, the distance of your wired microphone capsule from your wireless lav capsule should also be taken into consideration - due to timing differences between direct audio and distant audio, you can get a phasing sound, making your audio a bit hollow or lacking body. The AVX system operates on a DECT Wireless standard, which has 19ms of delay - we generally recommend to not mix G4 and AVX wireless together for that reason.
Q: 4. Can we use two of the same models with the same frequency range at one time or do we need two different frequency systems? Basically, can we use two of the same exact transmitter/receivers simultaneously?
A: Yes you can, when scanning for a new frequency do one system at the time once you are done just make sure both systems are running in different frequency's.
Q: 5. Is there some sort of adapter I can use to plug this into a laptop using USB?
A: An audio interface, such as the the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), BH #FOSCARSOLO3G, is a great way to get quality audio into your laptop from this wireless sytem. The Sennheiser kit comes with a CL-100 cable that will connect via XLR to the Focusrite device, which includes a USB cable to connect to the laptop.
Q: 6. How much bias voltage does the 112p G4 transmitter provide? Will it adequately power a DPA 4060 which requires at least 5V?
A: No, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter included with the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System will supply up to 3V, so it is not a suitable match for use with the DPA Microphones 4060 CORE Omni Lavalier Microphone.
Q: 7. Why am I receiving a warning that this product contains lead? I understand that my state requires a warning, however, what portion of this product contains the lead and is it dangerous?
A: Sennheiser has an office in California, and is legally required to place this warning on all their items regardless of whether they contain lead or not. This item is not dangerous.
Q: 8. The manual says to set AF Out on the receiver to +18 dB. Is this true? Why not 0db?
A: In general, Camera preamps are not the best quality. +18db ensures that you will need the least amount of preamp gain possible, which will maximize the quality you capture with the camera.
Q: 9. Will 1.5V Lithium rechargeable batteries work in the Sennheiser EW 112P G4?
A: Yes, the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (A: 516 to 558 MHz) can be used with rechargeable lithium batteries.
Q: 10. What’s the best mic for this unit? I’ve heard the included mic is average.
A: For me the best lav for the the G4 would be Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic, Normal Sens, Hardwired 1/8" TRS Connector for Sennheiser Evolution Wireless Transmitter. It is a fantastic lav this is the B&H part number B&H # SAC11WNSETRB.
