Designed as open standard, camera-independent lenses, the versatile LPL-mount ARRI Signature Primes offer easily customizable looks, a wide range of focal lengths, and zoom lenses to match. Like the rest of the series, the ARRI Signature Prime 15mm T1.8 Lens (Feet)covers all image sensors up to and including full-frame, large-format. This wide-angle lens is one of 16 primes featuring organic images, attractive bokeh, subtle flaring, and a fast maximum aperture for achieving shallow depth of field. This prime lens gently softens the large-format look and produces pleasant, natural skin tones and crisp blacks. Focus falls off smoothly, highlighting your subject against its background frame.

Stockings, nets, and voile can be used to create custom diffusion and other effects when mounted in the Signature Prime's magnetic rear net holder. Eleven iris blades produce smooth, rounded bokeh effects, and a telecentric design minimizes breathing. The integrated LDS-2 lens data system is backwards-compatible with ARRI's LDS-1 and communicates with Cooke's /i Technology.

Constructed with magnesium housings and aluminum gear rings, each Signature Prime is lightweight, water-resistant, and features focus marks in feet. Anti-reflective coatings, light baffles, and light traps help to minimize any internal barrel flare. Should a stunt go awry, or your camera rig be otherwise damaged, the lens mechanics are designed for easier access at an ARRI service center.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a version with lens data? /I compatible?

A: No, the ARRI Ultra Prime 100mm T1.9 Lens (PL, Feet) does not come in another model that supports the Cooke /i Lens Data System.

Q: 2. If I get an LPL adapter for my Nikon Z6, will this lens cover the full frame and work with the camera?

A: yes this lens will cover the sensor on a Z6. it is designed to cover the ARRI LF sensor which is significantly larger than the sensor on the Z6

Q: 3. Can these be converted to PL mount and would they cover a Monstro large format sensor?

A: No, the ZEISS Nano Prime 75mm T1.5 Cine Lens and all other lenses in the Nano Prime set cannot be modified to PL mount.

Q: 4. Looks like you couldn't use a clamp on matte box with this lens because of the lens support?

A: The IRIX 15mm Cine Lens (PL, Feet) has 86mm front filter threads. You can use a step up ring to clamp on a matter box.

Q: 5. Autofocus?

A: The ZEISS Nano Prime 24mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Sony E, Feet) provide eXtended lens data but have no autofocus.

Q: 6. Which is better cooke s/8i ff lens or Arri signature prime lens

A: Cooke and ARRI are two of the finest cinema lens manufacturers in the world. Either would do the job they are call upon to do, and do it with exemplary panache. To decide which one to use, you need to find out what the shot or the entire production requires of its lenses. You then do tests with both lenses to determine which one works. It can be said that Cooke's exhibit a warmth that is very complimentary to people, particularly faces. Arri lenses, like Zeiss, exhibit a cooler, very color accurate tone. These two colors are very subtle and you have to look for them.

Q: 7. Can this be brought in carry-on?

A: Check with your airline's carry-on policy. Most airlines can accommodate a 24-inch carry-on, but not all. Generally, a carry-on suitcase measuring 22 inches x 14 inches x 9 inches, commonly seen as 22 x 14 x 9, would be the most widely accepted size. This case is 24.76 x 19.57 x 13.90" / 62.9 x 49.7 x 35.3 cm, so most likely, it would need to be checked.

Q: 8. Will there be a PL version T1.5? Lower cost and lighter than Supreme Prime. Kind of like Sigma did, but color matched with CP.3

A: No, the ZEISS Nano Prime lenses will never be in PL or LPL mount. These lenses are meant to match the Supreme primes and are not "clinical," like the CP.3's.

Q: 9. Can I use a speedbooster with these lenses if they are mft?

A: Yes, the Tokina 85mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens with MFT mount could be used with a speed booster.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatible with the 5D Mark IV?

A: The ZEISS Compact Prime lenses have been used for many years with HDSLR cameras, including this model. You would need to order EF mount version of the lens in order to mount to the camera.

[ARRI LPL] I really enjoy this lens. The look of the image is sharp and feels amazing. The build is tanky. No regrets.

[ARRI LPL] I recently purchased the IRIX 45mm, 150mm, and this 15mm the color from all the lenses seem to match very well. This lens has very little distortion for being such a wide lens.

[11] My second Meike MFT lens, possibly even better than the first. Nice solid lens. Bokeh is smooth, but unobtrusive, as seen in the two photos from a Panasonic GH5S, one with focus point @ 2.5 meters, the other at 5 meters. Focus scales seem to be more accurate than the Zeiss CP 2 prime I've had for years.

[1x 3/8"-16] Love this lens. Just note that the image is flipped. You have to flip the image in camera, then AGAIN in post. An unfortunate side effect of being SO wide with this lens and the level of engineering to make it not cheap looking.

I think Arri will have a fix for it in one of their SUPs, hopefully soon.

[ARRI LPL] Love how this lens renders colors. It leans more to the warms side which I like a lot. The focus throw is a bit longer than I'm use to, but It will take some time getting use to as solo operator. My first AC is fine with it. It's a very sharp lens wide open. Flares are okay, wish it flare with a circular or onion ring tho. Overall good lens for the price, I will try out the 24mm and 35mm. I hope they matched with the 16mm in terms of colors. I have seen reviews where they say the line up doesn't match. I hope they fixed that issue.

[T1.8] The IRIX 15mm T2.6 Cine is my go-to for shooting in tight spaces, like car interiors. Its wide-angle capability allows for capturing extensive detail in confined areas, making it ideal for automotive shoots. The T2.6 aperture ensures excellent performance in low-light conditions, crucial for maintaining quality inside vehicles.

Balancing impressively on gimbal rigs, it proves to be a versatile workhorse, capable of handling dynamic shots with stability and clarity. Its durable build adds to its reliability, making it a trustworthy choice for demanding environments.

In short, the IRIX 15mm T2.6 combines wide-angle versatility, low-light proficiency, and rugged durability, standing out as an essential lens for producing high-quality, creative shots in limited spaces. It’s a valuable asset for any video project requiring sharp and expansive visuals in compact settings.
