Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work on a 43.5mm lens (Olympus 35RC)?

A: The Kaiser 43mm Push-On Lens Cap might be too tight for a lens that diameter is 43.5mm. This one might fit better, https://bhpho.to/2Hnix68

Q: 2. Anyone willing to take a guess as to whether this would stay on a Canon fd 300mm f4, which originally came with an 84mm push-on metal cap? Thanks in advance.

A: Hi Tom, I have been using it on my 85 mm wide angle, it definitely stays on just a bit of a pain to get off with lens hood. Glen

Q: 3. How well this Kaiser push on cap fits on a B+W CPL Slim MRC filter 77mm. Any other suggestions besides the original B+W (Schneider) push onThank you

A: I really like these lens covers, as an alternative to push-on caps:OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, SmallB&H # OPHHS35B Mfr # 8001112This will be the correct size for a 77mm.

Q: 4. What is the diameter of the inside of the raised rim that slips onto the lens?

A: This Push-On Lens Cap fits on to 72mm diameter lenses.

Q: 5. Is the inside diameter of the cap 48mm?Thanks,Dave

A: Yes, the inside diameter of the Kaiser 48mm Push-On Lens Cap is 48mm. However, do note that it is often recommended to purchase push-on lens caps 1-2mm larger than the diameter of the item upon which it is to be placed. Getting a size exactly the same size as your item would not fit.

Q: 6. What is a Slip-On Design? How it differ from other lens cap?

A: The Schneider 86mm Push-On Lens Cap is like most any other lens caps listed as slip on. This is an image of the back side of the lens cap, https://bhpho.to/41aBHDW.

Q: 7. Will this work well with the 42mm lens shade for a Pentax 8x42 7.5 monocular?

A: Be sure that the outside diameter of the shade is 42mm. A typical 42mm filter is larger than 42mm at the outside diameter. I have B&W filters, and they are 2mm larger than the thread size. So if I need a cap for a 50mm filter, the cap has to be 52mm. I would recommend you measure the shade to be absolutely sure.

Q: 8. Is this cap fit on the hasselblad zeiss 50mm C f/4?

A: Do not know that is not what it was purchased for.

Q: 9. will this fit a rollei 35s?

A: This Kaiser 40mm Push-On Lens Cap is not compatible with the Rollei 35S.

Q: 10. Will this lens cap fit the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano filter?

A: Yes, this Schneider 86mm Push-On Lens Cap can fit a B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter.

[Front] I started using these over 20 years ago and still do for all new lenses. They last and are well made and stay on very secure

[48 mm] I have a vintage Nikon 500mm mirror lens that was missing the original cap; it's a weird size, 88mm; gave this a try. With a layer of fabric tape on the inside rim or the cap it fits fine.

[48 mm] These are nice and snug, and they fit perfectly!! Why couldn't Bushnell come up with these in the first place?! They're great... I recommend them wholeheartedly. They fit much better than the caps that originally came with the scope.

[48 mm] The generic lens cap fits well on my old lenses. It is rugged and does not fall off.

[48 mm] Works well so far. If you have a tight fitting case it can get caught and get pulled off, but that's true of any push-on cap. Seems a bit expensive, but it was the only option they had.

[0.015 lb] This cap fits very smoothly and snugly on the B+W 46 mm filters. I love these caps, especially for lens storage. They fit very well and protect lenses well and don't easily fall off and get lost. They are a lot less rattly than the pinch style caps. The only thing with these caps is you have to measure the outer diameter of whatever you need the cap for so you can get the correct cap since these go over the outside of the lens or filter. I also love how these caps fit even if your filter or lens does not have easily accessible or has recessed filter threads. The cap I got now has an updated and more modern looking design embossed on the front of the cap with the modern Schneider Kreuznach logo. Some of the older ones I have have the older logo. You can't go wrong with either. It's subtle and looks at home on the front of any lens from large format lenses to some nicer small or medium format lenses and cameras. The cap is domed, and will protect your lens even if the front element is flush with the top of the filter ring. It's also pretty deep, so it isn't too easy to dislodge it accidentally. It definitely will not come off in your bag. It is easy to take off and put back on if you are using it in the field, but in the field I tend not to use lens caps and just keep my front filter on to protect my lens from sticky fingers and mud. Of course these aren't as perfect as the SK Grimes custom caps, but for the something that comes in standard sizes, and for the price, these are well worth it.

[0.015 lb] Fit perfectly over the end of my telescopes but pricey but I'm not found any other place that even carries 92 mm

[0.015 lb] Perfect fit on a range of E46 lenses. Best lens cap IMHO. Light. Does the job. Looks classic. Typography is different than the picture, but still nice.

[0.015 lb] This is a great cap for Olympus lenses that use 46mm filters, like the 12mm f/2 and 17mm f/1.8. They fit perfectly, and come off without searching for the pinch tabs. The loop at the edge lets you tether it with a simple lanyard that looks better than the stick-on type, too.
