This brown, ultralow-profile Shure Wireless Mic MM-PSM-s Omnidirectional Earset TA4F Browndelivers clear spoken-word and vocal reproduction for presenters and performers working in music, theatrical, broadcast, house of worship, lecture, and presentation settings. It comes with a TA4F connector that plugs into select Shure bodypack transmitters.

The MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series earset features a 3mm capsule mounted on a very-short 1.25' boom that provides a tight fit with no movement while discreetly positioned away from the mouth for an unobtrusive fit. The lightweight earset can be worn on either the left or right ear and feels natural when used for extended periods of time. The extremely flexible boom is virtually unbreakable.

The capsule delivers full-frequency (20 Hz to 20 kHz) audio performance and high gain before feedback for detailed speech intelligibility. The 145 dB of dynamic range makes this mic well suited for loud vocal performances in houses of worship and on the musical stage. The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern offers enhanced plosive protection with no proximity effect for a natural sound.

All MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series microphones are made in the USA.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This version states that the connector is compatible with shure ta4f .But i see a ta3f in picture closeup.which is it?

A: The Polsen ESM-2 Dual-Sided Earsets Microphone headsets are available in a few different configurations. The ESM-2-TA4Fconfiguration has the TA4F connector for compatibility with Shure wireless transmitters. On the pictured closeup view of the connector, you might have overlooked the hole in the center, which is not there on a TA3f connector.

Q: 2. We have the Shure MX153 earset. It needs to be replaced. Will this this work ?

A: Yes, the Pyle Pro PMHMS20 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone for Shure Wireless Transmitters (Beige, TA4F) would be capable of replacing the Shure MX153 Earset Headworn Microphone to work with Shure transmitters with onboard TA4 connections. Both mics are omni pickup pattern, but the Pyle is a dual ear headset mount as opposed to the MX153's single ear configuration.

Q: 3. Hi, I m wondering if this mic compitible and can be used for Audio Technica Pro 10 wireless system? thanks

A: This microphone has a Shure TA4F connector which is very common and popular. AT body pack uses the HIROSE HR10A-7P-4S connector. So if you want to use this Pyle Pro mic with the AT 10 PRO bodypack you will need an adapter converter cable. The only company that I know that sells such a cable is in England called micronic. The adapter cable is expensive. Alternatively, I have been told AT will install the HIROSE connector to any microphone you send them for $30 per microphone. I think purchasing an adapter cable is the best solution. But I have not tried this idea and so I can not guarantee this will work. I hope this helps

Q: 4. Does this mic require phantom power?

A: The Shure TwinPlex TL48 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone requires only 5V, but to enable connection with an XLR input, the Shure RPM400TQG Wired TwinPlex Microphone Preamp is included, which does require phantom power to activate, but it does not allow phantom power to be passed through to the mic. The RPM400TQG converts phantom power to the proper amount of voltage that the mic requires.

Q: 5. does this come with ta4f or ta3f connector?

A: The Polsen ESM-2-TA4F Dual-Sided Earset Microphone for Shure Transmitters has a TA4F connector.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with a Rode wireless mic system?

A: Yes, this headset is compatible with the Rodelink wireless system, which requires a locking connector.

Q: 7. Do they have this in a mini jack version, so I can connect it to my h1?

A: A Zoom H1 will not support the necessary power requirement for a Shure WL93. The WL93's condenser element requires 5+Vdc to operate whereas the Zoom H1's powered 3.5mm input provides only 2.5 volts of plug-in power. To ensure compatibility with your H1, you will need to select another plug-in mic that either has a condenser or MEMS style element with a lower power requirement or has a dynamic element requiring no power.

Q: 8. Will this shure TwinPlex TL48 work with rodelink?

A: Yes, the Shure TwinPlex TL48 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone can be used with a RodeLink transmitter, but a Microdot adapter such as the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter - Black (B&H # DEDA35) is needed to enable compatibility

Q: 9. Is this compatible with a Sony D21 wireless mic system?

A: No it is not. This headset is wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters. Use this version for SONY transmitters: Polsen ESM-2-MN Dual-Sided Earset Microphone for Recorders and Wireless Transmitters BH #POESM2MN: https://bhpho.to/3ebmefn

Q: 10. What is the main difference between the Shure TL47 and TL48?

A: The main difference between the Shure TwinPlex TL48 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone and the Shure TwinPlex TL47 is the mid-high frequency boost incorporated into the TL48 capsule's frequency response. The TL47 also has interchangeable "flat" and "presence" frequency caps for different responses. The TL48 is the most speech-oriented model of the TwinPlex line.

[Brown] Rent a 12-16 channel wireless system to a few middle and high schools every year. Typically, we run the Pyle Pro PMHMS20 headsets, but due to backorder ordered several sets of PMEMS10 this year. These work great for school plays/musicals with proper EQ and compression. The only con is the earsets do not seem to fit children with smaller heads/faces well and took some tape to hold them in a proper location. Overall, this is a great product for schools at a great price. Time will tell if these hold up as well as the PHMS20's.

[Brown] First use indicates that it works well. A little longer than CountryMan

[Brown] These headsets have made a radical change in the sound quality of the middle school productions that I help to run. At this price point, we can put a headset on every child who has a line and with a careful mic plan, swap transmitters so that everyone can be heard at the proper time. And we can have a few extra on-hand for when they break or quit, which does happen; we generally lose one or two over the course of tech week + show. But again, the price point means we haven't blown our entire budget having to replace one headset. They are easily swapped out, and they deliver fine sound quality. Seriously worth their weight in gold. I have bought probably two dozen of these from B&H in the past year for various performances and am buying more to have extras on-hand for our next show. I've still spent vastly less than a single headset of the more expensive variety. Highly recommend for anyone using a Shure transmitter system.

[Brown] We rush ordered this earset microphone for a school play and it saved our show! It was comfortable for the teenage actor, fit his head/face very well, and worked to project sound to our entire auditorium! The customer service was helpful and efficient to help get us what we needed so swiftly!

[Plug-In Power] First Sunday with new pastor on regular clip to collar microphone, people had hard time hearing him. Next Sunday with Headworn microphone and he was loud and clear. These mics are great.
