Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a barlow lens included with this?

A: Unfortunatelly notBestia regards

Q: 2. can the Barska 400MM/80MM 131 power starwatcher refractor telescope be used for terrestrial objects viewing?

A: Yes this scope can be used for Terrestrial Viewing. The model comes with a 45 Diagonal so that will flip the image right side up for you.

Q: 3. Hi. does this come with theSkyX - First Light Edition software?

A: Yes it comes with the software.

Q: 4. Can I put a atachment to this scope to put a camera?

A: Thank you for your question. While it is technically possible to put a camera on this telescope using a 1.25 standard camera adapter, we would not recommend this for astrophotography. For this scope you might want to try simply shooting through the eyepiece with your phone's camera for simple shots of the moon. This telescope was designed to be used for visual use.

Q: 5. Does the telescope connect to the tripod with a standard 1/4 connection?

A: This model comes with a standard 1/4 20 threading.

Q: 6. I have one of these and it is impossible to aim it. What am I doing wrong or missing?

A: You might be having trouble aiming and seeing things because of light pollution. That can happen. Is the image not focusing in at all?

Q: 7. As a beginner, are there any essential accessories I should consider?

A: This is a kit which includes the most essential accessory required, a tripod. You really would not need anything else to get up and running.

Q: 8. Can this be used for daytime scoping too?

A: Yes this Model can be used for Terrestrial use during the daytime, since it comes with a 90° Erect-Image Diagonal.

Q: 9. I was referred by celestron technician using this telescope tube as a finderscope. The original finderscope goes with the 8'' reflective telescope tube is very shaky on its mount. Does anyone know if this 70mm telescope fit well on the 8'' tube?

A: I bought this telescope for my son in 2015. The 70mm telescope does fit well on the 8 tube. My son has been super happy with this telescope, hes been able to pack it up and take it camping with us and its extremely strudy. Definitely a good buy.

Q: 10. Total newbie here. What is the difference, if any, between this and the Celestron 80mm in terms of features? Just the magnifying power?

A: One is 70mm in diameter the other is 80mm. The larger the diameter of the scope the brighter it is. The brighter the scope the more objects can be seen and identified.

[1.25"] Barska monocular quite effective as a handy gun range spotter. Hand held steady out to 100 yd. Clarity is good, in fact quite good for the price. Anyone shooting competitively should have one in their kit.

[Refractor] Great investment! The power pack hold charges for over months and can even recharge a car battery Direct current. AC to DC adapter and fuse box changes inside with two USB ports for quick cellphone charge. It also comes with wall adapters for different countries not just US. The lenses are great and filters come with tips for best use for planets. The 2.0x Barlow is a must have and the moon filter is wonderful since the moon can get bright. Carrying case is aluminum and solid with two sets of keys for locking. Great deal.

[70mm] Nice, simple monocular. Features work as described. I generally only use the 10x zoom. I'm thinking of getting a walking stick with a 1/4in screw to which I can attach this monocular—I think the views at 20x zoom will be more stable with a monopod.

[1.25"] Versatile and portable. Add a camera tripod to make it even more versatile. Unless you use a camera with a telescope the only celestial object you can see with any great detail is the moon--so this is sufficient for the moon and some detail on planets--also excellent for land use.

[70mm] I often go to Harvard's Arboretum, climb a hill far from the crowded walkways and wait about 15 minutes. If I remain still, the critters come out again and I can get excellent views of their daily lives. Birds, such as Cardinals and Blue Jays have vivid colors, which come through beautifully. Chipmunks, squirrels and other ground/tree dwellers often unseen in their normal habitats are a joy to watch. I can almost count the teeth as chipmunks gnaw on various items. I would recommend these binoculars for those who enjoy nature and wild life, seashores, etc. I was amazed when I took a peek at one of the islands in Boston Harbor, and found out there was a smaller one just to the North that I had not seen. To top it all off, on the horizon, I could see a container-ship heading out to sea, which was completely out of my normal scope of vision, but easily seen using the binoculars.

[1.25"] Really nice combo. Got this for my GoTo catadioptric telescope and my Newtonian reflector but can be used with most scopes accepting 1.25 eyepieces. Nice bundle that doesn't cost a bundle.
