Protect your Sony camcorder underwater at depths of up to 32.8' or when snorkeling or shooting in sandy, dusty, humid, or foul weather conditions with Ewa-Marine VEX-3 Underwater Housing for Sony EX3Ewa-Marine VEX-3 Underwater Housing for Sony EX3for the Sony PMW-EX3. Made of clear, double-laminated PVC, the VEX 3 supports manual control of the camcorder's menu functions through the housing's flexible PVC skin.

A 3.7" (95mm) integrated, optically-neutral flat glass lens port at the side of the housing attaches to the camcorder lens using Ewa-Marine's CA-adapter ring system and the supplied 77mm threaded aluminum filter ring. This ring fits camera lenses with 77mm filter thread diameters. Mount the adapter onto your front lens element and attach it to the interior of the port to hold the lens securely in place and prevent reflections or other optical disturbances between the two glass surfaces. A tube is integrated into the housing for the side-mounted view finder, which can be swiveled 90°.

A pair of corrosion-resistant clamping rails secures the housing to form a waterproof seal at the top via knurled thumb screws, while the camera is cushioned inside by an included foam pad, which also serves as an air reservoir. The unit can be carried by nylon webbing handles. Additional straps can be tightened around the camera to remove excess air when working near or above the water's surface. They also allow for the attachment of weights at the bottom of the housing to adjust buoyancy underwater. Since the volume of air in the housing decreases and the water-pressure increases as you descend underwater, more air is required inside the housing to balance the outside water pressure the deeper you dive.

This item also includes a carrying case with a waterproof interior and zippered side-pocket, an initial supply of CD5 drying agent to absorb moisture/condensation, and foam padding to fill empty space when shooting above water.

Q: 1. Hi there. This model will be for a Nikon D7200 with a Sigma Art lens 30mm 1.4?

A: I bought this for my son's Nikon - I forget which model but a common DSLR package. He used it in Bali and loved it - so I believe it will work for yours.

              Q: 2. size compatibility with Canon 50D?

A: For that model camera use the U-B series housings.

Q: 3. Can this bag be used with a Sony Camcorder ?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-A Underwater Housing is designed for auto-focus DSLR and SLR cameras. It is not compatible with a Sony Camcorder. Ewa-Marine does produce many bags for camcorders. This link list them all: https://bhpho.to/2YmAlJ3 For help choosing the correct bag for your Sony Camcorder you could email us at uw@bhphoto.com.

Q: 4. Will this work with my D800e?

A: I have use it with a canon 5D Mk III and worked fine, I guess will work with the nikon. The size are similar in those cameras.

              Q: 5. Can a Canon 5D Miii with a 24-70mm (Canon L-Series) fit comfortably in here?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-A Underwater Housing is too small for the Canon 5D mark III. Also the lens port could only handle lenses that have a 72mm filter thread. The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM has a 82mm filter thread. The Ewa-Marine U-BF100 Underwater Housing is large enough for the Canon 5D Mark III and the lens port can handle lenses with a 82mm filter thread.

Q: 6. can a Nikon D750 with a 24-70mm nikorr lens fit in this housing?

A: For that outfit we would reccomend the U-B Series which allows for a larger body/lens combination. filter thread is also important to not as larger filter threads such as 77 or 82 mm lenses need to utilize the 100 designation housings which have a larger front port.

Q: 7. Can the U-A accommodate a lens that is not threaded (wide angle fish eye) or are the threads required for proper attachment?

A: It can accommodate a non threaded lens. Be sure your camera is warm and dry before it goes in the housing to reduce the chance of fogging.

Q: 8. Will this housing fit a nikon D90? And how easy is it to use manual controls while the camera is in the housing? Is it safe to take this housing into surf and waves along the beach?

A: Yes with lenses with a maximum filter thread of 72 mm. this housing is rated for complete submersion in up to 60 ft of water

              Q: 9. Can I use this housing with a canon 5d mkii and a 24-70 lens?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-AZ housing is fine for the Canon 5D mark II but not the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This housing bag is designed for lenses that are 9 long and have a 62mm filter thread or smaller. The Ewa-Marine U-B 100 is a better choice. This bag housing is compatible with lenses that are 3.94 to 7.87 long and have a filter thread of 82mm or smaller. For the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens you will need the Ewa-Marine C-A82 82mm Adapter Ring Set. [1.9 lb / 0.9 kg] Loved the shots - it was easier to preset many of the controls first - no problems on vacation reef dive -way cheaper than a hard housing - flexible but has a glass lens port.

[32.8' / 10 m] For the price, it is great. You do need weighs for it if you want to go deeper than arms length. It is not easy to adjust focus or iris but it is possible between shots through the finger inserts.

[None] My canoe I was riding on capsized before I had this product. Needless to say, my expensive DSLR and lens were damaged beyond repair. Bought this product to protect against water spray, dust, and overall protection from elements - and yes, from possible capsizing. It worked for the purpose intended. Will test it on shallow dive when opportunity arises. No leaks or moisture problems. However, it's tough but it's still plastic. So, you want to protect it from pokes and scratches or you just threw away almost $$.

[1.9 lb / 0.9 kg] We use the newer Panasonic AG-HMC150 and this VP2 EWA-Marine product was recommended directly from the manufacturer as compatible. It is, it does work great. We did fashion some internal foam to keep the lens in line with the glass but otherwise it works great. We strap it to the front of a sea kayak and take GREAT HD footage while kayaking in and out of sea caves in the Channel Islands off the central California coast.

[1.9 lb / 0.9 kg] I went diving for the first time and bought this housing to take my Canon T3i underwater with me. I only dove 7 meters/21 feet, but it worked perfectly fine for me. No leaks or moisture inside at all and it fit my Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens perfectly. There was plenty of room for the flash too. I couldn't really change settings underwater while diving, although I could in the housing above water. I was hoping to switch to movie mode at some point, but wasn't able to. In reality, I don't think I would have been able to hold it straight in front of me steady enough while diving in order to do video anyway. That's probably just because I have no diving experience though. I set it to A+ (scene intelligent auto) mode for the underwater shots so I wouldn't have to change any manual settings. I had to let almost all of the air out in order to get it below the surface of the water, even with the lead weight in the case. Since it wasn't a deep dive, I didn't have any problems with the housing shrinking around the camera at all.I was able to take some photos that I'm really happy with underwater and even above water. The glass doesn't seem to blur the image at all EXCEPT for when you're above water and have water drops on the glass. I also used this case while kayaking in the rain and those shots are blurry.

[None] This waterproof case is dirt-simple, rugged, and relatively inexpensive. Our old Sony is a bit dated, but still a pretty good camera. Now that we have a new Nikon, I'll risk the old Sony for snorkeling duty in Central America this spring.

[32.8' / 10 m] This is a really great housing. I have been using it for surf photography. The housings made for surf photography can run you a couple of thousand, minimum, so this one is an awesome way to get started! It's a bit tricky without being able to test the settings and the lens port requires some cropping in post when using wide angle lenses. Totally worth it though!

[3.5 lb] It's a good quality and very secure. I use it so many times.
