The Vello Battery Grip Canon EOS 6D Mark IIfrom Vello Battery Grip Canon EOS 6D Mark IIis a dedicated power supply that can hold up to two LP-E6 or LP-E6N Li-ion batteries, which doubles the camera's shooting time. Before attaching the rubber non-slip grip, the battery chamber cover of the camera can be safely stored away within the battery grip. Allowing easy access to the vertical shutter release, AF area, AF point selector, AF start, AE lock, and main dial, the grip allows you to control the camera when you're shooting vertically.

The on/off switch prevents accidental firing of the camera or any other changes that can occur when the vertical controls are not in use. When the grip is in the off position, it deactivates all the controls, but the batteries still supply power to the camera, and a hand strap mount is located on the bottom and compatible with the HGS-2 and HGS-3 Hand Grip Straps. The 1/4"-20 threaded mounting socket makes it possible to attach the camera to a tripod.

A: You shouldn't have any problem using any quick release plate on the Vello BG-C8 Battery Grip, since there is a standard 1/4 -20 socket on the bottom.

Q: 5. Is there a way that an on-camera flash, such as the 600ex-rt, can connect to the battery grip through a cable?

A: No. The camera cannot power the flash. There are external battery supplies which can power this flash, if the internal AA replaceable batteries are not sufficient.

Q: 6. How does it compare to the canon battery grip?

A: No idea because Ive never handled the Canon version. But this grip is doing all it is supposed to. And for the price I dont see how you could ever regret buying it.

Q: 7. Does the Vello BG-C8 grip fit the 6d mark ii?

A: No it will not. It does not appear that Vello has come out with a Battery Grip for the 6D Mark II yet. The Canon BG-E21 is the only grip currently available based on my research. The Canon BG-E13 and Vello BG-C8 for the 6D has 9 pins on the mount where the Canon BG-E21 for the 6D Mark II has 8 pins.

Q: 8. Why do my batteries die when left in the battery grip for a few days?

A: Your description indicates that you have a defective product. B&H has a 30 day return policy. If it is after 30 days, contact the manufacturer.

A: Batteries must be charged in charger.

[0.795 lb] I have a Canon battery grip for a 7D Mark II and thought I would try Vello's version for my 6D Mark II for half the price. It's a little lighter and feels like I had expected for half the price, BUT all buttons function properly and I like that it keeps the overall weight of the camera down. In the end, I'm very happy with my purchase. 5

[0.795 lb] Zero regrets buying this on sale for under $100 when the Canon version is over $400. Works great for portrait orientation photos and gives 6D Mii a bit more grip. Very happy with this product. Keep in mind you will need a larger L bracket if you already have one of those. Cheers 5
