This Sigma FHR-11 Gel Filter Holder for 14mm & 14-24mm Art Lens Canon EFis designed to allow for the convenient use of a pre-cut polyester or polycarbonate gel filter with a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF or a Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art lens for Canon EF without vignetting.

Use of the filter holder is easily accomplished by first unscrewing the shim that is pre-installed over the mount of a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF or a Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art lens for Canon EF. The filter holder can then replace the shim using its three included mounting screws.

When positioned over a compatible lens's Canon EF mount, this Sigma FHR-11 Rear Gel Filter Holder does not interfere with the lens's electrical contacts intended for digital communication with a camera. A gel filter that is pre-cut using the provided tracing and cutting template can then be inserted into the filter holder's integrated slot.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this too much lens for Nikon D750? Meaning it was designed for cameras with higher mega pixels.

A: Never hurts to get a lens sharper for your cameras mp, your next camera years from now may have double the mp, ya never know.

Q: 2. does it work with Nikon D750 DSLR?

A: Yes, Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 For Nikon is compatible with Nikon D750.

Q: 3. Is this Lens weather sealed?

A: Yes, this lens is weather sealed.

Q: 4. Can I layer gels?

A: Yes, you can use multiple gels.

Q: 5. How well does this pair up with the 5D Mk IV... anybody using this combo? What are your impressions? Thank you!

A: The Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF, B&H # SI142428EF, is a full-frame Canon EF mount lens and is fully compatible for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera, and it would be a good pair if you are looking for a good quality, sharp, constant aperture wide angle zoom lens..

Q: 6. The stated angle of view is 114.2° to 84.1° . Is that horizontal or diagonal angle of view?

A: Diagonal.

Q: 7. Does new Sigma EF Mount 14-28mm F2.8 DG HSM Art "need" Sigma usb docking "special firmware" update to work "correctly (normal) on Canon EF-EOSR and Canon EF-EOSM cameras, or is Sigma "lens firmware" unnecessary, and works fine straight out of the box? (Why is 5DMkii, EOS R, and EOS M6 Mark II not listed as compatible?)

A: This lens would come with the most current firmware already installed. The Sigma USB dock is only to allow the user to update the newly released firmware by Sigma, as it becomes available. The 5D Mark II is an older camera which has not been tested to our knowledge, hence the omission under the compatibility list. The EOS R would use the RF mount and the EOS M6 Mark II would use the EF-M, which is why they are also omitted.

Q: 8. How well does this lens perform during astrophotography?

A: I have found this to be a fantastic lens for astrophotography. I used it to photograph the Milky Way and Perseid meteor shower with great results.

Q: 9. Will this lens work with my Nikon D7200?

A: Yes it will work with D7200

Q: 10. Where can I get ND filters for the holder?

A: You will need wratten or polyester filters. You can click on the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2J5g3JM

[0.035 lb] I have been using the generation one Sigma 12-24mm lens for wide landscapes and architectual shots for many years. The older lens was sharp in the center but soft at the edges and corners even when stopped down. The older lens was at its worst in the 12-15mm range, right where you needed it most. I am very impressed with the sharpness of the new Art version, especially at 12mm wide open. It is impressively sharp right to the edge of the frame and even deep into the corners. Not tack sharp like the center, but very very sharp for the edges of a super wide lens. If you own one of the older Sigma lenses and are thinking about upgrading, don't wait. The new lens is a huge improvement over the older versions in every respect, including build quality, and image quality. If you consider cost as a downside to the new lens, consider the Canon 11-24mm lens. The Sigma is about half that price, so perhaps the Sigma is a bargan. In the DPREVIEW review of the Sigma Art lens they said at 12 mm it is very close to the Canon in terms of sharpness and beats the Canon in terms of vignetting, chromatic aberration (CA) and distortion. The DPREVIEW review of the Sigma lens was not as good in the 16-24mm end of the range. However, the images I have taken with the lens with my 5Ds look pretty darn good, at 24mm. At that focal length, the Sigma beats my Canon 24-105mm L lens in terms of sharpness. At 12 mm The Sigma is approaching my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II lens in terms of sharpness. If you are familiar with that lens, you will know that is impressive. For my purposes, the Sigma is a winner, especially when you consider price. That is why I gave it a 5 star rating.

[Plastic] It's heavier than any other lens I own. Bigger around too. The outer lens is massively curved, and image quality is amazing. So glad I jumped on the sale, amazing value.

[1x Gel Filter] My intention is to use this lens for scenic closeups with backgrounds for perspective. I may also use it for scenics where I want to capture a lot of sky. So far, the in-field resolution at closeup distances is much better than I expected. A lot of lenses lose a lot of resolution close-up but this lens does not. This is a heavy lens but I don't know of any other lens capable to capturing these type of images, especially at 12mm. Can't wait to use it in Yosemite.

[Plastic] Due to the fact that the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art, does not have a tread, so the specific custom made Adapter gives the secure method of working with Polarizer and Nd Filters

I recommend everyone to use this combination

[Plastic] I should have bought into the 12-14mm years ago but stuck to 16mm (16-35 L 2.8). This Sigma is a monster sized/weight lens that feels like a tank artillery shell, but this is good. I'm not buying into this new smaller, more petite trend. I'm sticking to my DSLR which actually works better for my line of work, all photo and no video.
