Designed to produce crisp and clear wide-angle views that remain bright in challenging light or at high zoom, the ZEISS Victory Harpia 95 Spotting Scope Angled Viewingis engineered for the superb performance hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts have come to expect from the brand.

Its performance begins with the use of extra-low dispersion fluoride glass, which virtually eliminates color fringing and halos caused by chromatic aberration, ensuring views are crisp and sharp with accurate color fidelity. Additionally, ZEISS' proprietary T* full multi-coat system maximizes light transmission to improve color rendition, contrast, and clarity, while an exterior lens surface LotuTec coating ensures oils, sap, dust, and dirt are easy to clean off without residue. The oversized 95mm objective lens draws in copious amounts of light to ensure images remain clear and sharp, even in low or challenging light such as at dawn and dusk, and helps to keep views bright when observing at high magnifications at very long range. This version of the Harpia 95 is offered here with the spotting scope body only; an optional eyepiece is required for proper use.

To make viewing more comfortable, the eyepiece holder is set at a 45° angle, which places the user's head in a natural position whether they're sitting, standing, or lying prone. A rotating tripod collar enables the user to further position the eyepiece precisely where they want it to limit head movement when using the spotter with other optics, like a rangefinder or a firearm. A dual-speed focusing mechanism ensures tack-sharp images, and front threads allow the use of filters, like polarizing or ND, to enhance and sharpen views even more. The optical tube is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof in even the harshest conditions, with a standard 1/4"-20 that makes it easy to mount onto most photo/video/field tripods and other support systems.

From the woods, to the mountains, to the steppes, the Victory Harpia 95 delivers expansive and panoramic views with enhanced clarity and brightness and true color representation.

[M95 x 1.0] The view with the Harpia is wide clear and true color, with no distortion. The eye cup is perfectly located so it is comfortable to stay in the exact position (without glasses) for viewing the image.

[Angled] My diascope 85 was a great scope but could not quite identify smaller salt marsh birds at 1000 yards off my deck. Sold it and upgraded to the 95. Magnificent piece of equipment. Field of view is impressive and focus is easy and sharp. Looking through eyepiece is like looking out your kitchen window...very comfortable. Appreciate it more every time we take it out for a run.

[M95 x 1.0] The amazing quality and performance doesn't reflect in the price.  I've looked through many spotters that cost substantially more than the Zeiss Gavia. Other products just can't compete with the low light and clarity you get with the Gavia.  This is the best spotting scope for the money.

[M95 x 1.0] This spotter is extremely well built with a tremendous view. It is great at the low end of the eyepiece magnification but really shines as you increase magnification. The view at 70x is better than anything I have experienced with edge to edge clarity and a larger field of view. I am tough on my optics and have no concerns that the Harpia will stand the test of time.

[M95 x 1.0] I was fortunate to win the coveted Montana super tag for deer in 2019. I had bought this scope prior to even knowing I had won as I needed a good spotter for here in Montana. I packed this thing with me almost everywhere in my excursions this fall. We spent 40 days in the field between August and November and in all kinds of weather conditions from 100 degrees to below zero. I can tell you not one time did I think “I should have bought another scope.” I spent hours behind this scope and other than the standard one eye closed fatigue my right eye never felt strained or overworked at all. I digiscoped both video and photos even at 4K levels that were gorgeous and clear. I subjected this to rain, sleet, hail, many miles of bumps and rattles. It took it all like a champ. I love this scope. I’d buy it again if that’s what you want to know. Don’t overlook this spotter in your search.

[20.1 x 8.7 x 6"] Kudos to Pentax for introducing this state of the art spotting scope at a reasonable price point.  I’m not sure if the older PF-80ED will be
discontinued or remain as a less expensive option, but as soon as I saw the PF-85 EDA was out, I bought it.  I hoped it would meet my expectations and it certainly has.

The older PF-80ED was a very capable scope with the fixed XW eyepieces, but has been around for quite a while.  The new PF-85 improves on the earlier model in every way.  It is a superb instrument and a relative bargain.  I can’t fault the optical and build quality in the slightest.  The helical focus mechanism is smooth and offers plenty of travel to fine tune.

These days there are few spotting scopes you can buy that don’t come with a zoom eyepiece, but thankfully this is one of them.  I have never been a fan of any zoom eyepiece, whether it cost $100 or $700.  So I've been using the XW20 fixed power (26x) eyepiece with this scope and the image is superb.  Wide and bright and sharp.  I also tried the XW14 (36x) which was quite good, but for me the XW20 is the one that truly shines on this scope.  This setup makes an excellent birding rig, but I imagine shooters, archers and others should also have it on their short list if looking for a quality spotter.

If you're looking for a lightweight scope, this is not it.  That said, it’s relatively compact, performs extremely well and looks great.  I think
it hits a nice sweet spot between entry level scopes and the $3-$4K top end models.

[95 mm] When purchasing Zeiss optics, you expect the very best. The Victory Harpia spotting scope did not disappoint. I was immediately blown away by the quality and crispness of the views. I quickly discovered that such a fine optical device calls for a high-quality tripod. I obtained one with a fluid head that makes it possible to smoothly pan up and down and to the sides when scanning for wildlife, birds, etc. It is essential to get a tripod with a sliding mount that makes it possible to balance the load with and without a camera mounted.
