Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it come with the light stand?

A: No but you can get the light kit which includes the stand and hood as well as a bulb

Q: 2. Can I use LED floods with this?

A: The light does not specifically say in its specifications it can or cannot use a screw in LED light. The fixture uses a lamp that is E26 Edison screw in bulb. It is a regular kind of screw in bulb. So technically if the led light does not need ballast or any electronics and has that all built in to the bulb you can use that fixture. Note that it has not been tested with that type of bulb.

Q: 3. Is there a version which sticks to the cord, not the device? Laptops move around a lot, and get put in bags.

A: We are not aware of an alternate solution that would travel with the cord rather than the device like the OWC ClingOn USB Type-C & Thunderbolt Connector Guard.

Q: 4. Can you use LED bulbs with this?

A: Unfortunately, no, you cannot use LED bulbs in the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit. The Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit is specifically designed for spiral CFL fluorescent lamps up to 85W maximum. LED bulbs generally have a heatsink at its base, and 4 LED bulbs this close together might not fit and could cause heat issues. CFL bulbs also have two advantages, they have a wider beam angle so they can fill the soft box completely and produce softer diffused light.

Q: 5. will this fit in the SP-UM with a 10 or 12 reflector?

A: I bought the 12 reflector to check. The 4 socket adapter does fit inside and screws into the SP-UM fine. I have 4 Eiko 40w CFL's and all this fits inside the reflector. They all stick out way past the reflector, but not restricted from using it.. I am curious to find out if the 105w CFL's fit next to each other in this 4 socket adapter, or if the adapter sockets are not spread out enough.

Q: 6. Hi,Would you happen to know the new focus distance, when I use this tube? Also, is it possible to use the tube for normal shooting or can I only use it for macro work?Thank you for the response...Regards,Johnny

A: The new minimum focus distance when using this extension tube would depend on the focal length of the lens you are using along with the lenss native magnification. You would really only want to use the extension tube for macro work. When using extension tubes, the lens looses the ability to focus at infinity, so would no longer be able to focus on objects in the distance.

Q: 7. What is the minimum working height of the stand?

A: The minimum working height of the light stand that comes with the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit (B&H # IMFFOF4Q) is 34".

Q: 8. I have the Wistro AD600B (not the pro) will this bulb work?

A: This flash tube is only compatible with the AD600 Pro. Unfortunately, we do not carry the flashtube for the AD600B at this time.

Q: 9. Can I use something like this on sheet film? I'm new to the darkroom and open to being taught. How do you remove excess water from sheet film???

A: I think it is best to hang sheet film by one corner and let it drip dry, after a 15 second photo-flo bath.

Q: 10. Does this convert to monopole?

A: This tripod does not convert to a monopod.
