Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this work for getting analog audio in from a betacam sp deck into a SDI signal ?

A: Yes, provided you can send your Beta SP deck's audio out through the XLR inputs of the breakout module, which will bring your analog audio in. Your digital audio out is then transported via SDI.

Q: 2. Is there a version for 3.5 mm TRS Sennheiser connection?

A: To use the Remote Audio Lav Snake with a 3.5mm connector you will need this adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1076682-REG/remote_audio_lsadev_3_5_adapter_for_lavalier.html

Q: 3. How long are the individual channel pigtails on each end of the bundled cable?

A: The distance from the start of the fan to the end is 2.5'.

Q: 4. Does this cable's db 25 connector follow the Tascam or Yamaha protocol?

A: The Avid DB25-XLR M+F AES/EBU DigiSnake follows the Tascam protocol for AES/ EBU digital connections only. This cable is not designed to be used with an analog DB25 connection.

Q: 5. Is the head removable for easy installation?

A: The head is not removable.

Q: 6. Is this green as the picture shows? Is it available in other colors?

A: The cable is green as shown, with this type of cabling we only have it in this color.

Q: 7. How thick is the cable? I am looking to put this in a cable protector.

A: I believe it is 5/8in to 3/4in depending on the Jacket thickness.Enjoy!

Q: 8. Does this adapter have electrical connections for use with mics on transmitters or is it purely physical?

A: The Remote Audio Lav Snake LEMO Adapter is not used for electrical connections. It is used together with the Remote Audio Lav Snake (B&H # RELAVSNAKE), which is a tool to make it easier to feed a lavalier microphone through clothing in order to hide the mic cable. The LEMO Adapter attaches to the connector on the Lav Snake, then the red tip on the Lav Snake slips through clothing to guide the mic cable, then the mic is disconnected from the LEMO Adapter once the mic is in place.

Q: 9. Is there a distance limitation with this cable and 3G SDI?

A: 3G SDI can be sent up to 330 feet, so the Laird Digital Cinema 23 AWG Thin-Profile 3G/HD-SDI 16-Channel BNC Snake Cable (150') should not have any issue carrying a 3G SDI signal over the length of it's 150 foot run.

Q: 10. How long is this snake?

A: The Whirlwind W3IRP is a Special order item available in multiple lengths. Please contact a Sales Representative here at sales@a href= http://bandh.com target= _blank bandh.com/a or 800-606-6969 for assistance with an order.

[Snagless] it is portable, well finished, the numbers are clear and the shield of wires are rough. measure is the correct for the large of the stage, I am happy about flexible of the wire.

[350 MHz] I was interested in the possible sound quality difference between this 50' cable and a really short one (3 to 18). I did a test recording in stereo with the left channel using my really short one (Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (3 to 18)) and the right channel using this 50' cable coiled on the floor. I kept mics and recorder exactly the same for the experiment and rotated my setup in the room halfway through in case there was one side of the room that was better than another.

By ear I can detect no difference between the two sides in the recording. Both had no discernible hiss when recording a vocalist.

Fantastic!!

[TPE] I am always wanting to eliminate any link in my audio chain that will compromise any loss of signal.Saying that, If you were to see my studio, you would understand. Its still a home studio though, and to spend a large amount of money on a cable snake thats 5' long, I had to take time and think about it.After reading the spec on the cable and trying to look closely at the picture supplied, I decided, why not.I can see where the money has gone.No effort has been spared to construct this cable, its very robust, completely shielded and apart from dragging it behind a car for 40 miles, its definitely a once in a lifetime purchase.all cable ends both braided and then shrunk wrap coatings are as good as any top shelf cable I have, and if the specs are anything to go by, I'm yet to see any other cable of this type on the market that will match it.As with any signal path you still have to be mindful of what cables are running next to what, so I still don't run audio less than 150mm parallel to power and always cross at 90 degrees. My recording equipment gets moved around alot, so to have something that can handled regularly and not show signs of ware and tear is a big one. Although I have only had it for a short time, I reckon this cable will last as long as any I have.Well done to the crew at Mogami, well made.If you can afford it, you will only buy it once, thats worth considering.

[Snagless] I had owned a whirlwind for many years and never had a problem with it. It was a 100ft 24 channel snake and became too large for my needs. I sold it and purchased a much cheaper (not whirlwind) 25ft 12 channel snake that lasted a couple of years and then had to have 3 channels repaired over a 6 month period. I had enough of that and purchased this one and I am expecting it to be the dependable snake that I had with it's big brother for so many years.
