A: Get a filter that is the size to fit your largest diameter lens. Then buy step-down rings to use it on your smaller diameter lenses. Alternatively you can purchase separate filters for each lens that fit exactly. When in doubt always go for an exact match or the next larger filter and step-down ring(s).

A: A stepdown ring is the easy and cheap answer. One end will screw into your 50mm lens & the other will be able to screw the filter into. If you have, or are considering buying other lens you should look at buying the filter for the biggest lens and step down rings for the your other lens - that way you only need one filter.
