Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the diameter of the aluminum tubing?

A: The diameter of the tubing of this frame is 20mm.

Q: 2. Is there a bag that can fit this? I'd like a padded bag that would fit this for transport

A: I run a rental house in ABQ and after a lengthy search I never came across a bag that could fit the Mega Boom. Even looked at snowboard and ski bags/cases but all were just too short. Ended up having ProCases custom make a case for us out of ABS plastic w/ foam cutout inside. Significantly cheaper then a Pelican custom. Could always just keep wrapping it in a furni pad, but no style points if trying to impress clients. Best of luck hunting

Q: 3. What is the pole bottom thread, 1/4 or 3/8?

A: Bottom thread is a female 3/8 -16

Q: 4. What stand would be recommended to hold the 425B mega boom?

A: Avenger Low Base Roller Light Stand 36 11.8' BH #AVA5036CS

Q: 5. When collapsed what is the length of the long side of the frame?

A: The, Manfrotto Frame for Skylite - Medium long side broken down is approxemelty 76-78 inches long.

Q: 6. Going with the 3.5 by 6.5 and want to mount it to a c-stand. What's the best mounting suggestions with the most overhead flexibility? Using it outdoors to diffuse sunlight.

A: The best mounting would be with c-stands (B&H # IMLSCT40M) & grip heads (B&H # IMKCP290B).

Q: 7. Is there a stand that will hold this, rather than a huge C stand?

A: For the Manfrotto Frame for Skylite Frame-Panel Reflector - Medium - 42x78", you would want to have at least one — but preferably two — sandbagged C-stands. I would not recommend a lighter stand for a large frame. As an alternative, a heavy-duty steel stand such as the Matthews Maxi Kit Steel Stand (9.5'), B&H # MALSMKZ, or the Impact Folding Wheeled Base Stand (Black/Chrome-plated, 8.5'), B&H # IMLSPSFB8, may also work, but a lightweight aluminum general purpose stand would not be my recommendation for your intended usage needs.

Q: 8. Does this come with come kind of carrying case?

A: No, I had to purchase a carry bag separately.

Q: 9. Is the camera we put on top able to angle downwards? Or angle at all?

A: The Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Boom Pole for VR Camera (Large) does not have an adjustable head to angle your camera downward. For adjustments, you can attach a 1/4"-20 screw ball head.

Q: 10. this frame come with clips clamp?

A: I believe the clamps come with the fabric, which is purchased separately.

[4] I've only had this boom pole for a few days but I think it is perfect for small productions where portability is essential. Light but solid construction and tightens easily without the need to over-crank on the fasteners. Overall, really good product!

[1.1 lb / 520 g] Very strong and sturdy boom, perfect to use as n extension on your tripod. Almost doesn't bend when held horizontally, which can't be said of most cheaper options. Very light and not too long when collapsed.
Certainly not the cheapest option.

[43.5 x 6 x 3.1"] A study, easy to bring support. It is also adaptable. The possibilities it has given me a look at are exciting.

[3/8"-16] I've owned several carbon fiber booms but none of them approach the quality of this one. Durable and dependable.

[3/8"-16] I am very pleased with the build quality of this boom! I am heavily invested in OCF style photography and use handheld booms frequently for portrait work and weddings. I had previously purchased the (more expensive...) Photoflex LiteReach Plus, which I've gotten by with for years, but I was never impressed. The LiteReach is flimsy, and the brake knuckles are not well designed. They don't seem to tighten down enough to prevent spin and there is wobble between the separate segments. I've also had to reassemble them several times because they fall apart occasionally.

This guy here though is a different story. It is made of thicker gauge metal, extends further, bares a heavier load and the knuckles are beefy! Overall, the construction and materials used are much higher quality and is cheaper than the LiteReach. Also, small difference but the one I received was all black including the baby pin at the end. Very happy with my purchase. Kinda kicking myself for not buying this the first time around.

[2.2 lb] I have tried a few tripods for my GoPro Omni 360 camera and this one is by far the best to use. Very light and strong. Can’t even see the tripod when you take a 360.
