[0.5 - 24 rpm] I was skeptical based upon some of the reviews, but now that I have the rotator, I can tell you that it is fantastic. Placed between my leveling head and my ballhead. The clicks are loud enough to hear and I can easily feel them as I rotate the product. That will be important doing panos at night, e.g. Milky Way shots. The levers control the friction, but once quickly adjusted, they seem to retain their tightness. The starting at 0 degrees comment isn't a issue either. The top plate rotates independent of the body, and is controlled by the upper lever shown in the product picture. Just rotate the body to the next click (doesn't have to be at 0), then rotate the top plate to the desired starting position of your pano and start taking pictures. You can also do this if your ballhead has a rotating base, as does mine. The thickness of 1.8 inches does add some height to the tripod system, but in my case, my tripod is a bit short, since I use it for compactness during travel. So, I don't have to bend over as much. Of course, I need to test it over time, but IMO, it is a well-built product that works as described at an excellent price.

[31 oz / 880 g] Used in a Museum and runs 10 hours a day. 5+ years before replacement was needed.

[0.5 - 24 rpm] IN the past, I used a ball head to do panoramas. At night when time is tight between shots, it took me a while to pan 2 row and sometimes 3 row panoramas when the galaxy was high in the sky. The DDP-64M cuts the time by 1/3. No more lining up degree markers on each shot. Just turn, feel the click, and shoot. This device fits perfect on my tripod, and has enough degree markers for ultra wide to normal lens panoramas. I like they used levers vs knobs because the lock down on my tilt head, nodal rail, and L bracket uses knobs. With these levers, it's easy to grab the right lever and not get confused with various locking knobs. Also, the machining and operation of the 64M is smooth, and easy to set up. It also locks down good on a tripod, and has pull levers to keep them in a desired position. A great product for night or day panorama. A real time saver with precision. The only missing piece is a spirit or bullseye level. For that, the Sunwayfoto LP76 level plate is a good solution.

[31 oz / 880 g] I have been looking for ways to make moving tree break-up for years and love this solution. Put two leafy break-up gobos in this thing, set your speed, and watch in awe as the light looks exactly like sun streaming through breezy trees.

[31 oz / 880 g] I was a little worried about buying this, because some of the reviews were quite bad (mainly about not feeling the click as it turns). I do not have that issue at all, just have to make sure that the knob used to select the degree of rotation is tightened just right.

[31 oz / 880 g] There are several indexinf rotators for those of us who want to shoot better panos. The Sunway is an affordable option. You have to practie and determine the angle you need for your different lenses.. The click sound is audible and yu can feel it easily. Suggest also getting the Sunway Leveling plate to complement the rotator
