[Universal] I've now used it a few times and am pleased. I needed a little more room sometimes than a sling, and this gave it to me with some of the same convenience of not having to put the bag on the ground. You spin it around on your waist belt, and open it from the shoulder strap side. It's not quite as easy as a sling, but isn't bad. The comfort level is very good, good strap comfort, good hip belt, good back support padding. It also has a number of options for tripod carry, including the ability to carry a somewhat larger tripod with a drop-down holster at the bottom of the back.

[Green] Finally found a good looking, contoured, comfortable, roomy bag to keep my Canon 100-400 mm lens with camera attached and hood on plus other compartments for smaller lenses or another long lens detached. With this bag all I have to do is grab my camera out of the bag, turn it on and it's ready to go. The main compartment is easy to get to, easy to see what you have totally re-configurable. I should mention that my lens has an aftermarket foot which makes the camera a little higher than with the original foot and still it fits perfectly. There are also several pockets to store the camera manual, extra memory cards, filters, and misc such as keys and phone all within easy reach. And a small computer. Excellent padding and construction. As far as accessing your gear while the backpack is in place on your body- I don't expect to hike far with this bag so I haven't done much except to try it out and you can get to your gear as shown on the marketing videos which of course is a plus.

[19.5 x 12 x 9"] I wanted something for longer hikes, which for me means carrying less than the kitchen sink. This 18 L is exactly that. Fit and hip belt feel like a "real" hiking pack. Side pockets hold water bottle securely on one side with tripod on the other. Width is slim enough for free arm movement with hiking poles. Love that the central tripod cup and strap tuck away when not in use. I was skeptical about rotating the pack on the hip belt for access to main compartment, but it works. Green zipper pulls are easy to locate against black pack. Plenty of room for the lenses and gear whose weight I can carry for an extended distance. Very pleased.

[19.5 x 12 x 9"] I spent a few weeks mulling over the different packs and prices on B&H and watching YouTube reviews. This MindShift pack was literally the last one I looked at and nearly overlooked it because of so many choices, and I was getting tired of the hunt. I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one. I did not want an overly large pack for my Nikon and four lenses for outdoor photography. I also wanted enough capacity for a light jacket, a few peripherals like batteries, charger, lens blower, gloves, and a small lunch. Checks for all. There's a sleeve for my small tablet, which is perfect for me. I really like the ability to swing the pack around to my front while keeping it on. Other packs were larger but I don't want to be tempted to overpack. Also, I love that there are numerous options for affixing a tripod. My photos shows my typical config. Finally, the hip belt is very comfortable, and if adjusted properly, the weight bears more on the hips than hanging from shoulders, which is essential for comfortable hiking.

[Yes] I bought this looking for a backpack that would hold my Canon T7i with a Sigma 150-600mm lens attached. I was pleasantly surprised that the lens fits while attached to the camera and there is room for several other lens too. I have used the backpack a few times for short outings and find it very comfortable to wear.

[Yes] My previous bags...there have been quite a few...at times made me not even want to go out. This one is comfortable and well made. Everything works as advertised.

It felt like a hug when I put it on. I hiked almost 12 miles yesterday with it and don't have any shoulder or back pain today. Very happy with this purchase.

[4.55 lb] The one word that comes to mind with the Mindshift Gear Backlight 18L backpack is Quality. Everything about this bag is first rate. As for size, I'm only 5 feet, 5 inches, so I was looking for a bag that would hold my gear, but wouldn't be so long that the bottom of the bag would rest on my tailbone. This bag fits the bill. Also, while not a big bag, it's big enough to hold my Sony mirrorless camera and several lenses.
