A: Hi. This mic is great but comes with some strange and quite dealbreaking features. I sent my first one back due to a high pulsating noise that it created along with very low input volume. Got a new one and same thing. I'm paring it with a Sennheiser G3 unit and a zoom H6 as well and just by chance I notised that I had perfect sound when pulling the plug out of the G3 transmitter a millimiter or so. If you stick it all the way in, it wont work. Obviously this is crap and I'm only using it when I have a subject that I know will be pretty much completely still and I always have to fibble around with it for a while but then again, It produces greeeeat sound for a Lav. /Marcus

A: The Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & 3.5mm Locking Sennheiser Connector should work well with Sennheiser transmitter products featuring a 3.5mm locking input connection. We are not aware of any common issues in this scenario and would suspect that perhaps the specific lavalier cable or transmitter input in the described scenario may have become intermittent with use over time.

The information in the product name for the compatible versions of the COS-11D will always specify that the mic has a 3.5mm locking connector for Sennheiser.

Without seeing both the mic and transmitter to evaluate, it is difficult to determine whether the issue may have been due to a defective mic or a problem with the transmitter. In general, the COS-11D is one of the most popular lavalier mics for various broadcast, film, and performance applications. This particular version of the COS-11D is wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters such as the SK 100 G3 and G4 for the EW series wireless systems. Along with the manufacturer's warranty, B&H does have a 30-day policy for returns. So if you do decide to purchase and have any problem with the mic, let us know right away and we can set up an RMA to return the mic for exchange or refund.
