The DVI KVM over IP extends DVI, USB, 2-way analog audio, RS-232, and IR, over a Gigabit Local Area Network. Resolutions up to 1080p Full HD and 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) are supported. HDMI digital audio is also supported when using HDMI sources and displays with HDMI-to-DVI adapters. The sender and receiver units can be automatically or manually configured to unique IP addresses to allow the connection of multiple senders and receivers to the same network. Multiple receiver units can simultaneously connect to any sender unit within the network to create a virtual crosspoint matrix of 256 senders. Any combination of HDMI, DVI, and VGA senders and receivers can be used. Each receiver unit has a built-in Ethernet switch and two additional RJ-45 Ethernet ports to allow for the connection of computers and other IP-enabled devices. USB 2.0 data rates up to 480 Mbps are supported in addition to backward-compatibility with USB 1.1. Each receiver unit provides two USB ports with up to 500 mA current draw per connector, providing access to keyboard, mouse, and other compatible devices. Bi-directional analog audio capability allows audio to be transported between the sender and the receiver units. The built-in microphone pre-amp on the receiver unit ensures compatibility with a variety of microphones. IR commands from the receiver side can be extended to sources connected to any of the senders units. RS-232 serial control can also be extended between each sender and receiver unit. The built-in web server interface makes set-up and configuration simple and intuitive. The DVI KVM over IP is perfect for large scale remote workstation access and digital signage applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you need two to use? Or do you just use another laptop or computer? I still don’t really understand how it works exactly... sorry.

A: You will only need one of the NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access. The purpose of this item is to access your system remotely without having it connected to a monitor. So you connect the NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access to the HDMI port of the system you want to access remotely. The NewerTech HDMI Headless 4K Display Emulator for Remote Access will trick the system in thinking it has a monitor connected to it.

Q: 2. Can this controller operate with the JVC LS300 and other JVC IP camcorders?

A: It cannot. This controller will not be able to operate the JVC LS300. It is designed specifically to work with the JVC KY-PZ100 PTZ camera. https://bhpho.to/2mrLu8Z

Q: 3. Is this useable for Godox AD360?

A: No

Q: 4. Is this Nikon WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller has a lock. so I can lock the shutter release button for bulb mode in Nikon D810?

A: There is no lock button, but while in bulb mode you click once to open the shutter and again to close the shutter.

Q: 5. For the D850, do I need the adapter also or just the transmitter and receiver?

A: You need the receiver, the adapter, and the transmitter. The transmitter is the one shown - the WR-T10. You also need the WR-R10 receiver and for the D850 with a 10 pin port, the WR-A10 adapter. You can use this for other cameras tht have different ports with the appropriate adapter. The wireless system has longer range and is more reliable than the consumer remote that uses IR. This is more expensive, but more effective.

Q: 6. Can the tilt control be reversed?

A: No it cannot.

Q: 7. Is the iris control smooth, or is it a series of click presets?

A: The smoothness of the Iris should depend on the camera you are using with this unit and how it is set up. However this unit should allow you to go from f-stop to f-stop just as you would with any camera.

Q: 8. Can I trigger video recording with this controller?

A: Found this on Nikon UK website Nikons WR-R10 wireless transceiver and WR-T10 wireless transmitter let you control key camera functions from a distance, even if there are objects between yourself and the camera. Compatible with specific Nikon D-SLRs, these devices allow control of autofocus, video recording, continuous shooting and silent shooting, as well as of a feature allocated to the function button .

Q: 9. Can this controller be used with the Bird Dog P200?

A: We can only say that the Birddog controller for Birddog cameras would be the correct choice and totally compatible with Birddog cameras. See this link https://bhpho.to/3vblIWh

Q: 10. Will this emulate 2560x1440?

A: absolutely

[Optional] My work (Windows) laptop is typically docked and connected to two 22" monitors, one VGA connection and one DVI connection. I have a Mac Mini as well, using the DVI input on second monitor (with HDMI to DVI converter). Was previously using wireless mouse and USB mechanical keyboard for the laptop, and a wireless keyboard/mouse for the Mac, switching inputs via the monitor menu. Too much clutter. Finally bought the KVM switch; should have done it years ago. Now I have just the wireless mouse, USB mechanical keyboard, and an easy push-button swap between Mac and work laptop. My only minor complaint is the 3-second lag when switching. First world problems. Graphics are fine for me, but I'm not pushing anything graphics-intensive on either machine. Overall, a wonderful addition to the home office to reduce clutter and make toggling between work and wasting time during work hours much easier.

[Optional] I use both Apple & PC computers, I have a 24 Apple monitor that I used for business presentations on occasion. With all the Pico / Portable projectors available I was able to lighten my travel load, but what do I do with my Apple monitor? This Link DVI allowed me to connect my 24 Apple monitor to my Windows PC and it works great. Gave away my old 24 Gateway monitor. I'm very happy with the purchase. B&H was great in helping me find the right solution. Thanks guys! PS - I'm a CFP and not in sales for B&H or or this company. I write this only because I never write review and discount most of them.

[Optional] Simple, reliable, and solid. I havent used the audio piece but everything else has been perfect.
It would help if this could use one cable between transmitter and receiver but it has worked great as it is.

[Included] Bought this and its matching rx. They seem pretty good. You can select different definitions, FHD, HD, SD, and then can assign them to the 3 types, and allocate bit rates for each. Eg you can select HD, send that to SD and a bit rate of 800 and FHD to HD and a bit rate of 2000 etc. It then selects the resolution type, eg 720P. The only limitation I find a bit strange is that the full range of resolutions, are not available all the time. They vary what is available depending on the Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz of the incoming HDMI. I am using 60Hz, and this does not have 1080i, but if I was using 50Hz, then 1080i would be included.
60Hz has 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080P.
50Hz has 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080P, 1080i.
The other strange thing I notice is that if I select a bit rate of 800Kbps, and then monitor the link at the IP level, it seems to be using about 3.5Mbps.
However, for quality and ease of use, these seem to be great devices.

[Wired] I use this unit to split signal from IPAD2 or Laptop or DVI visualizer into separate monitors as well as an HD video mixer. This unit was the only splitter I found that would split the signal and do the HDCP handshake with my mixer.

[PoE] This device works as advertised.
NOTE: It is USB-powered, so at least one of the USB-A plugs must go to a USB port that can provide some juice.
