Q: 1. Thank you for the informative video. Sekonic C-800: How to add new memory data to an existing Memory Title other than the last one in use? All new memory data seems to end on the last Memory Title in use regardless of the selection on the Memory Title folder. Selecting and/or Recalling a Memory Title doesn't work. F/W 20-11-11. The answer to this is not in User Manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A: For assistance with your inquiry concerning the Sekonic C-800 SpectroMaster Color Meter, I would recommend to contact Sekonic's Technical Support Department directly by e-mailing them at support@sekonic.com. You may also contact the manufacturer directly by phone by calling them at (914) 592-4156 during the business week, Monday ~ Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time.

Q: 2. what is the circumference or radius of the tripod legs when fully extended?

A: The max radius leg spread on the Auray SS-25S Compact Height-Adjustable Steel Speaker Stand with Tripod Base is 14.5", but it is variable. You can bring the legs closer together for a smaller footprint and still be stable.

Q: 3. Since this is a Color Meter only, do you know of a model that has both an exposure and color meter functionality in one small device? I think both the C-800 and C-700 series are color meter alone. I need both in one unit and in a rugged body unlike Lumu and other attachments.

A: I'm sorry, no, there isn't a color meter & exposure meter in one.

Q: 4. What are the main differences between this one and the C-700-U? Also does C-800 give you F-stop values like a lightmeter? Or should I get a different light meter for that purpose?

A: This is a color meter. While it can measure illumination levels in lux and footcandles, it does not measure in f/stops, shutter, ISO etc, etc. You do need a light meter for that. The main difference from the 700 is that the 800 can measure more types of light. In particular, it is the only affordable, movie technician meter that can measure the new color standard, Spectral Similarity Index (SSI) which is more reliable than CRI.

Q: 5. As an event video shooter our most challeging task is to record in uncontrolled light situations with multiple cameras and make them cut nicely in edit... with this meter will it allow us to know the most precise overall Kelvin temp of several ambient lights in a room and any magenta/green necessary adjustments? We have used grey cards but the cameras have crazy readings when we use the white balance setting based on those? specially yellow/green painted rooms and vivid green nature backgrounds...

A: This color meter can give you exact information based on the color of the light. Depending on where and how you meter relative to other lights you can get a combined reading or a reading per light. Color meters are more accurate than gray cards for setting white balance.

Q: 6. Sekonic released C800-U. I'm wondering the difference or upgrade?

A: They are changing all model numbers to include where the warranty is offered. The one with U in the end has warranty in the USA. These older options that have no letter at the end of the model number still have warranty in the USA though.

Q: 7. Is there are any other indexes can be used as a basis for performance when use the strobe light except the CCT/LB/CC index?

A: Only the CCT/LB/CC indexes are available when measuring strobes.

Q: 8. Does this meter have a function to allow the user to walk away from the device and record the highest light level?

A: In order that we may further assist you, please write telling us more about what you wish to to. prophoto@bhphoto.com.

Q: 9. What is its Lux Resolution?

A: The Sekonic SPECTROMETER C-800 can read lux 1 to 200,000.

Q: 10. To calibrate digital cinema projectors I need a color meter that reads reflected light: is there a spot attachment for the C-800?

A: There is no spot attachment. This is designed as an incident meter. Though if you took a reflective reading, at close range off of a color neutral surface it should work.

[3 lb / 1.3 kg] I did quite a bit of research before making this purchase.

I used NVGs and other night vision devices when I was in the U.S. Army. The Axton products are military grade and built like a tank with a lifetime warranty to boot.

Plus, they provide world-class customer service. I'm very pleased with my purchase and it is worth every penny.

[3 lb / 1.3 kg] Using this to light up the side yard all the way to the back fence, about 90 feet. Just like in Iluminar's youtube videos this thing throws IR light everywhere. I love that a separate camera in a opposite corner that just sees the backyard sees the massive amount of IR light that it puts out. I have this model and the IR148 both are built solid after a year later still waterproof and working fine.

[25 W] Added this for my License Plate Camera and it is better than expected with a focused high intensity IR light that reflects off of plates making all plates at night easily readable. See attached photos and note emitters are red and visible just hard to photograph.

Also have 2 other Axton IR emitters for the front yard that replaced some cheap IR emitters. The difference in coverage, distance and even spread is night and day.

[10°] Well-built and surprisingly bright for a short range illuminator.
My only gripe is the user manual I received, it came in every language except English. I would have preferred more technical information about optimum placement and more intelligible graphs for the various diffusers. Even so, not a big issue. A couple minutes of trial and error and you'll have the neighborhood lit up nicely. Definitely recommend.

[10°] This really lights up the target area. It was well worth the purchase price. Just realize that it's a large, heavy light.

The mount is cheaply made. I don't know who they have making it, but it doesn't have the ATN quality that I expected. I had to re-tap the screw holes just to get it mounted. The adjustments are a little awkward and with heavy recoil it tends to move.

[25 W] The thing is massive, I'll say that. But it does it's job and does it well. Haven't had the chance to try it at extreme ranges, but it turns the night to day.

[25 W] I've had a few of these scattered about the property for a couple years now. Throws a lot of IR and have been flawless. Beam pattern, IR power, and photocell sensitivity are adjustable.
