The Chrosziel MB 450W Super Wide Matte Box for Filmmakingis a lightweight, yet robust, carbon fiber matte box for professional video cameras. The "Super Wide" design allows for 1/3"-chip camcorders to use a wide 2.6mm focal length setting without vignetting. The 1/2"-chip camcorders can be used out to 3.6mm. Use the included top flag to control glare and reflections for improved contrast and reduced ghosting in the recorded image. Further control can be achieved through separately available side and bottom flags.

Insert your favorite filters into the available stages for further creative control. Both filter stages accept 4x4" and 4x5.65" filters and rotate for use and control of polarizing as well as graduated filters. To use this matte box on your camera, the camera must be mounted on a separately available 15mm LWS baseplate. Fit the matte box on the rods until it covers the lens front. Rod-mounted matte boxes are preferred over clamp-on matte boxes in many production situations as they are always properly aligned with the image horizon.

Q: 1. Is there a 85mm Clamp-On Adapter for MB-T12 Matte Box? Or will the 87mm be able to clamp firmly on to a 85mm lens?

A: While it comes with a 134 mm lens adapter installed, 114, 110, 95, and 85mm adapters are also included in the box for fitting different size lens diameters.

Q: 2. What is the largest lens diameter this Matte Box will support? The kit lens on my Sony FS7 takes a 95mm filter thread. Will this lens fit into the back of the Matte Box?

Q: 3. What's the distance between the attatchment slots? I want to see if this will fit on an Arri MMB2. The Arri top flag is too wide.

A: This is a top flag for a Tilta MB-T12 Matte Box only. We are not aware of it being able to work with any other Matte Box brands.

Q: 4. I cannot find the two filter trays which were included into the Shape Matte box I bought some time ago. Do you know if it is possible to buy new filter trays separately? Or if it is possible to use other?

A: The distance between the two mounting points is 94mm.

Q: 6. Can I use lenses with a diameter of 49mm in this mattebox or would there be any problem in?

A: Yes you can. This does have a universal Knickers for smaller lenses to block out light. You will need to have this matte box mounted on to a 15mm baseplate though.

Q: 9. Is this case suitable use for the O'connor O-Box deluxe set include store the top flag?

A: In this bag I keep my O'Conner O-Box deluxe set with flags, rings, 19mm adapter, a 4x4 filter tray and my entire Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom clip on as well.

Q: 10. Can additional filter stages/trays be added? what about a 138 retaining ring?

A: No, the Chrosziel MB 450W Super Wide Matte Box can only support two filter trays and it is not compatible with 138 retaining rings.

[Rod Ports] Comes with almost everything you need. I wish it came with a 19mm rod support too. I wish matte boxes came with a slot to add filter tags instead of sticking velcro on it. 5

[130 mm Clamp] For my needs, this is the best 3-stage matte box. It is lightweight, very well construct, good quality materials and not too big. This is exactly the matte box I needed for the price (the only thing missing is a rotating stage but at this price point, you can't get better than this!). 5

[2 lb] I needed a matte box that was lighter than the RedRock unit, for handheld work. This was suggested to me to be the lightest one available that still had two full filter holders. It's design is really solid and it is well made. The donut solution is the best I've seen as well. Also the french flag / eyebrow folds in half to make it easier to pack and travel with. I'd buy this again if I ever needed a second one. 5

[130 mm Clamp] Matte Boxes like everything int he film industry are overpriced, I was worried cause this one wasn't but it does everything we need to it to do. Been on three jobs so far and no complaints. Better than renting. 5

[Rod Ports] Would not have believed it, but this matte box is almost every bit as good as the Arri LMB-4x5 that costs over $6K. I work professionally and can't and won't use junk, but honestly, I had my suspicions about any matte-box costing sub $1K. Well, this product easily surpassed my expectations and it has been on jobs without complaint (other than a minor quibble about having the lens support bracket needing to be attached to the backing plates -- if I need to change backing plates, I have to remove the rod bracket if I'm using that) Anyway, super small annoyance that is not an everyday annoyance. The level of quality and precision and build quality in this product is staggering and has been approved by my 1st AC's. Regardless of the cheap price, this product is 5 star and the low price makes this a no-brainer purchase. You really can't go wrong with this. 5
