Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with canon 5d mark2

A: From what I know, most cameras have a 1/4 thread. The canon 5d will definitely have that size. Pretty much 99% or so of tripods out there have a thread size of 1/4 so compatibility will never be an issue

Q: 2. Is this tripod compatible with both a JVC 4K cam and a Canon EOS Rebel T6i?

A: We assume you are speaking of the JVC GY-HM180 which weighs 2.4 lb and the T6i and 18-55mm lens which weighs 1.67 lbs. The Benro KH25N Video Tripod Kit has a capacity of 11 lbs so you are good to go.

Q: 3. Is the half-ball on the Benro head detatchable or permanently attatched?

A: It is a 60mm removable bowl.

Q: 4. What diameter are the wheels?

A: wheels are 3.5 D.. Had unit replaced already.(w/o charge).2 of the 3 Synthetic rubber couples must be stretched over prongs on tripod feet..two snapped on me..this is the second generation produced to correct attatchment failure. This 2nd gen over-compensated.great vehicle but extreme carefull mount. Robt

Q: 5. What size shims does this tripod use?

A: The Benro A373F Series 3 Aluminum Video Tripod and BV4 Head uses 28mm shims, like the ones found in BH #MESMWAS.

Q: 6. How does this compare to the Sachtler Ace M? It seems that they are very similar, but the Benro is almost $300 less. I assume the Sachtler's build quality is a bit better.

A: This is a high quality tripod. Benro offers well made products at affordable prices. The Ace-M is still a great tripod though, however this Benro is a nice alternative if you are on a budget.

Q: 7. How Heavy this tripod? can you please list 4 of them ? Thanks

A: This Tripod weighs 9.4 pounds. If you would like to know the weight of any tripod simply click on the Specs link and scroll down. The weight should be listed there.

Q: 8. Can the video head be replaced with the Benro S7 Head (flat base on the existing bowl)?

A: No. The head and the half ball are one piece that cannot be separated.

Q: 9. Is it possible to put the Manfrotto MVH500A Fluid Video Head with 60mm Half Ball in this tripod legs?

A: While this actual combination is not known to us, it is our opinion that you can put your MVH500A with a 60mm ball base in the Benro KH25N with the 60mm bowl.

Q: 10. Is the head removable?

A: I just spoke with Benro tech support who says the 75mm ball mount can be removed, so that the BV6 head can be flat mounted to a 3/8x16 connection. I want to use this head with my slider, which does not have a ball mount.

[31.1" / 79 cm] Okay, I wish the legs would drop freely under gravity, but that's a problem of all lightweight/carbon tripods. It's just faster.

The plate-locking lever at first was vexing: it's very much blocked by most cameras. But then I discovered that it's spring-loaded - pops out so you can easily re-position the angle of the lever for very simple tighten/loosen action.

The fluid head is wonderful, just a tip: if you change the tension on pan or tilt (these are detented/indexed) you should also immediately pan/tilt so the mechanism can click into place. Thus when you execute your pan or tilt for real, you'll have a nice smooth start.

The bag is super nice, with an extra compartment for spare parts like spikey feet and/or an extra QR plate, and thickly padded internal hook/loop straps that go around the head and the clamps, very nicely protecting everything. It even has a strap to hang onto the handle, if you're the sort who removes that (I just loosen it and pivot it down to parallel).

[-75 to 90°] This is a fantastic tripod, and it's worth the money: just a bit too heavy for toting around. But I've owned it now for 8 months and do not have any complaints.
