Mechanical keyboards utilize a different type of key switch technology for a more durable and unique typing experience. The Cherry MX Brown switch has an actuation force of 45 g and offers a small tactile bump when pressed, letting you know that the key has registered. This can be useful for typing or preparing for a movement while gaming. Unlike Cherry MX Blue switches, these do not have an audible "click" mechanism, allowing for a quieter operation. Noise generated from this keyboard will be from the key either springing back into place or "bottoming out" – making contact with the back plate after a particularly hard press.

[45 g] This keyboard is the ultimate typing experience compared to any other keyboard Ive tried. I had a cheap keyboard with brown switches, cause I thought the blues would be too loud for my office. However, the brown switches barely had any tactile feedback, they were actually worse than some silicone dome keyboards from Gearhead. So I got this keyboard and my office coworkers actually prefer this sound, it is rather clicky, but is missing the clunky sound of bottoming out, which was a problem with the cheap keyboard.

One problem though; the USB hub doesnt work on the one I got. If I plug something in the hub, it says theres insufficient power and it doesnt mount the device. I contacted customer support and they got me to do a firmware update, but that didnt solve the problem. They told me I can request an exchange through B&H, but I didnt want to do without it for that long, so I just dont use the hub, which I probably wouldnt have anyway.

[45 g] If you spend a lot of your life writing, like I do, you may find that you long for the great IBM selectric keyboards that gave you a mechanical feedback. Today's keyboards are uniformly mushy, with a few exceptions, such as Lenovo's famous keyboards. So after reading the reviews I sprung for the Das Keyboard 43 professional. It has a great response and feel. Nice click but not too loud. Would not recommend if you work in a quiet spot and don't want to wake up roommates!

[Knob] After rotating through a handful of membrane boards, I bought this keyboard for work and am absolutely loving it. I had never used a mechanical keyboard before but found that this board is an absolute pleasure to type on. The keys (mx brown) have a great feel and are not so loud that they drive my office-mate crazy with all the clicking. Highly recommend!

[21 x 9 x 1.5"] The keyboard is actually pretty heavy, underscoring its sturdy construction.  The keyboard is exactly what I was looking for - the same feel as that IBM keyboard I had 15 years ago, just keys and no mushy feel.  My typing is faster and more reliable.  I have only had the keyboard a month, but the construction seems to be very solid, and key spacing is perfect for quick touch typing.  Highly recommended!

[N-Key] The Cherry MX Brown switches are not noisy and have the right amount of tactile feeling. The build quality of this keyboard is solid and heavy. Mechanical keyboards have the keys higher than normal keyboards and some of the brands include a palm rest in the box. Das Keyboards do not come with it. I purchased a polyurethane palm rest to get the right height.

I'd be happy if they included something in the box for raising your palm, other than that it is a great keyboard!

[45 g] This is a beast: solid, beautifully made keyboard with excellent audio controls all grouped together on the right with a wonderful, large volume dial. Typing is FAST with great tactile feedback. I gave up on thin, wired keyboards for the Mac from three other vendors--they don't hold up. The only thing missing is the hot key for widgets--solved by using hot corners in OS. If you need something robust, reliable with great key feedback--this is it. It sounds cool, too--love that mechanical key strike. Not one thing flimsy in this board.

[Mechanical] I'm a programmer and have had a CM Storm for 10 years. The printing was wearing off and I decided I was due for a new keyboard. I had a coupon and decided to get a Logitech g915. Big mistake. That's a bad keyboard. Short keystrokes, and seems very vulnerable to windows updates (Loses connectivity except for the volume wheel and requires a reboot to fix). Gave the Logitech to my wife ;-) and got the Das for me. Perfect in every way.
