The Blackstar HT Club MKII 50W Guitar Amplifier Headis an amplifier head designed for electric guitars. Utilizing dual EL34 power tubes and a preamp powered by two ECC83 tubes, the amplifier projects 50W of clean or distorted guitar tone, enough to fill a medium-sized venue.

The HT Club has two channels, each equipped with two voicing modes to craft your tone. The Clean channel has two voicing modes. One voicing mode mimics a classic British tone with increased middle and top end, and can be overdriven at higher volume settings. The other mode has a tighter sound with greater bass response and cleaner headroom, more akin to an American-style clean amplifier.

For additional distorted sounds, the Overdrive channel has its own traditional tone stack consisting of Bass, Middle, and Treble controls, as well as dual voicing modes. When the Voice switch is in the out position, the overdrive takes on a classic crunchy tonality with a tight response. Press the Voice switch in, and the amp will apply more mid-band gain, adding more body for a smoother sound with a looser response.

To complement the traditional tone stack on the overdrive channel, the HT Club 50 MKII includes Blackstar's ISF for an additional layer of tone control. The ISF shifts the response of the tone stack between a US-type response with tighter bottom end and more aggressive mids at one end, and a less-aggressive, more woody UK-type response on the other. Between the two extremes lies an infinite number of alternative tone choices.

The HT Club features a natural-sounding digital reverb that enhances the amp's clean and dirty tones. A Dark/Light switch allows the overall reverb characteristics to be modified and adjusted for different tastes and playing styles, while a power reduction control lets you reduce power handling down to 10% of full wattage, making playing at low levels no less powerful for the lack of volume. Additional amenities on the rear panel of the amp include an effects loop which can be configured for -10 dBV or +4 dBu, depending on the type of equipment being run in the loop. For studio recording and larger venues, a cabinet-voiced direct-out sends a line-level signal, which can be routed to an audio interface or a mixing board, precluding the need for a microphone. For this purpose, XLR and 1/4" jacks are both provided.

You can also use the amp's USB port to route digital audio to your recording interface. In this operation, the HT Club 50 MKII provides four discrete outputs: stereo emulated (left channel), stereo emulated (right channel), preamp output (for use with your own effects and cabinet IRs), and a dry signal.

The amp features a panoply of external speaker jacks, as well as an included footswitch for changing between channels and voicings. For expanded footswitch usage, make use of Blackstar's separately-available five switch footswitch.

Q: 6. Two-part question: the photos show this sound bar without any wires for connection to the tv or power. (I know there's a possibility to stream bluetooth from your phone, but I'm assuming the tv needs a wired connection.) Also, the back of the speaker has an "HDMI out" but only an "optical" TV in. [Digital Reverb] I've been testing carts for my two-table setup. I purchased the MKII Club a couple of days ago, got it today, set it up, and within seconds I knew I found THE ONE and I needed to grab another immediately. I A/B'd it in real-time against an Ortofon 2M Red on identical turntables playing two pristine copies of the same records, same phono preamps, same mixer, same amp and speakers. It sounds beautiful; the low end is punchier and the high end sounds more airy, more detailed, and less sibilant than the 2M Red. I did not expect that; I was hoping to get close but it turns out the MKII Club sounds better than a 2M Red and pretty close to an Ortofon 2M Blue, AND you can back-cue with it without trashing your vinyl or having the tonearm jump all over the place. I didn't think that was possible.

If you're hesitating because it's a few more bucks than the spherical Ortofon carts; as long as you're not Kid Koala or Qbert, I say go for it.

[50 W RMS] The Blackstar Fly 3 is just the right mix of sound and size. I was skeptical at first due to its size, but it is loud and covers the guitar range well. I use it with a Taylor acoustic and Fender strats with great results.

I was looking for a practice amp that would fit in my gig bag, and it fits the bill.

[Tube] I ordered a replacement for my Shure Cartridge and I am blown away by the sound quality upgrade that the Ortofon Club gave me. My older records have come alive and my newer ones have an added depth and bass. The tracking force is greater than the Shure but was easily adjusted for. It was a great buy!

[Yes] When Shure announced they were discontinuing their carts, I was gutted as they set the bar for me as both a DJ and audiophile. After trying a few with no success, the reviews led me to the Club. Out of the box, with only a 3 gram adjustment, I was up and running. A minute in, I knew I struck gold as it handled Daft Punk's Random Access Memories with low end punch, power, and beautiful highs. Much better than the Ortofon Red, the DJ unit plays like a Hi-Fi cart (almost as good as the Blue) with the ability to back cue and even scratch. It truly is an amazing cart for the price, one that will truly satisfy SHURE 44-7 purists like myself and one that even looks deadly (with swappable coloured arms!!) I could go on but I'll save you from my drool. Yes, it is that good.
