Q: 3. Can I expect seamless switching from this product?

A: No, this box does not provide seamless switching.

Q: 4. Is this fully compatible with new MacBook Pro (with touch screen) and Dell 4K external monitor (Dell P2715Q)? Currently using high speed HDMI and MBP does not wake from sleep when connected to external monitor. End up having to reboot and basically unplugging external monitor. Any suggestions? Bought monitor at B&H and love it. Worked like a charm with mid 2010 MBP connected with display port.

A: I have the same set up and this cable works nicely. Both the MBP and the Dell wake up fine from sleep mode. The only time it acts funny is if I plug in the cable with the MBP's lid down and then open it and try to wake it. To correct that I unplug it, wake the MBP, and plug it back in. I've had no need to reboot the Dell with this cable.

Q: 5. Does this product simply mirror one of the 6 sources to both displays? Or is it a true matrix, in that you can assign one source to the first display and a different source to the second display?

A: This is a true matrix switcher. It has 2 assignable and independent HDMI outputs.

Q: 6. Will it work with an Apple 27” Cinema monitor?

A: It would work with a 27" Cinema monitor.

Q: 7. Is this reversible? Can I use it to go out from the display port on a mac mini to USB C?

A: No, the j5create USB Type-C to 4K Mini DisplayPort Adapter BH #J5JCA142 only works in one direction.

Q: 8. Is the audio an input or output? I wanting to marry processed audio with the mixed HDMI signal.

A: The only audio is what is embedded in the HDMI. So that we may be of better assistance in getting the product you need, please email us. provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 9. Would this output from an XPS 15 9550 to a LG MU67, 4k at 60Hz?

[PoE] Just received this, plugged it in to my ancient ATI Radeon HD 5770 DVI-D port on my equally ancient MacPro 2006 model, and then into a far less ancient Dell U2717D monitor and without even having to mess with any settings on the Gefen device, I immediately started getting 2560x1440! At long last! Have tried numerous cable adapters that claimed to be DVD-D Dual Link - HDMI, but not one worked.

I have only few complaints.

1. The LED's on the front are really bright. Not something you want in you line of sight.

2. I haven't opened it, but I feel like it could easily be redesigned into an in-line adapter that would be much smaller. It truly weighs next to nothing.

3. The cost is pretty high, but at least B&H has it for (currently) more than $50 less than what Amazon is selling it for. For the cost, it really could have included DVI and Mini-DP cables.

None of which makes want to give it less than 5 stars as now I can run all three ports from my video card at 2560x1440 which is just awesome!

[3.25 lb] Switch worked perfect out of the box. It was purchased mainly to take care of workstation and laptop being connected to the same monitor (ASUS) through DisplayPort. Bonus - now I can use same keyboard. Works great so far.

[13 x 13 x 3.5"] Make sure to actually use the usb output that matches the computer your are testing your mouse+keyboard with. I had the keyboard+mouse not working like some mentioned in other comments/reviews. I contacted the support team which helped me make it work correctly. It's silly but we never know what would have with lack of coffee :) .

[13 x 13 x 3.5"] I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket.

[PoE] Bought this and its matching tx. They seem pretty good. You can select different definitions, FHD, HD, SD, and then can assign them to the 3 types, and allocate bit rates for each. Eg you can select HD, send that to SD and a bit rate of 800 and FHD to HD and a bit rate of 2000 etc. It then selects the resolution type, eg 720P. The only limitation I find a bit strange is that the full range of resolutions, are not available all the time. They vary what is available depending on the Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz of the incoming HDMI. I am using 60Hz, and this does not have 1080i, but if I was using 50Hz, then 1080i would be included.
60Hz has 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080P.
50Hz has 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080P, 1080i.
The other strange thing I notice is that if I select a bit rate of 800Kbps, and then monitor the link at the IP level, it seems to be using about 3.5Mbps.
However, for quality and ease of use, these seem to be great devices.

[3.25 lb] These units are ideal for instant connect up and they work. You can customise the bit rate and it keeps the video smooth. One TX can feed many RX.
