The matched pair of satin nickel Microtech Gefell M 930 mics includes two large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones designed for accurate, pleasing reproduction of vocals and instruments for live stage applications and home, project, and commercial recording studios. Additionally, two mic holders and an ORTF stereo bracket are supplied for easy positioning in stereo configurations. Each M 930 utilizes a pressure-gradient design and cardioid polar pattern to offer enhanced rejection of off-axis sounds. Transformerless circuitry yields only 7 dBA of noise and contributes to a high dynamic range of 135 dB.

The 40 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response features a gentle rise from 7 to 11 kHz for enhanced presence. An XLR 3-pin output with gold-plated contacts ensures standardized connectivity and 48 VDC phantom powering provides battery-free operation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the omni capsule come included in the box or is that sold separately?

A: The RODE NT5 Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphone includes a cardioid capsule only. The RODE NT45-O Omnidirectional Replacement Capsule for Rode Microphones (B&H # RONT45O) is available separately.

Q: 2. Is that round bump on the side of the housing a screw? I'm wondering if the XLR connector can be rotated inside the housing; currently it's oriented 90 degrees wrong for essentially every recorder on the market.

A: Hi Alex, I just saw your question regarding the Phillips screw on the side of the CEntrance PivotMic PM1 XY Stereo Condenser Recording Microphones. The screw is used in assembly to secure the mic's internal components to the housing and to keep the 3-pin connector in place. The XLR connector cannot be rotated inside of the housing. The screw should not be removed.

Q: 3. This is a 2 microphone package (stereo pair) for $159? or just one mic for that price?

A: Yes, this package comes with two mics (stereo pair) plus the shock mounts for both, along with a carrying case.

Q: 4. how do I register?

A: Follow this link to register:a href= http://en.rode.com/warranty/step1 target= _blank http://en.rode.com/warranty/step1/a

Q: 5. Can I plug this into a 3.5mm mini input on my DSLR and camcorder with a Kopul LMT-100 adapter on the end?. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885062-REG/kopul_lmt_100_lo_to_hi_impedance.html

A: This mic can not be directly plugged into the 3.5mm input of a camera since they require 48v to operate. If you did want to connect this to a camera, you would a mixer with an xlr input and phantom power such as this BH #SASRPAX1.

Q: 6. Can I use these mics to record instrument and orchestral ensemble?

A: Yes, the matched pair of RODE NT5 Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphones can be used to record instruments and orchestral ensembles.

Q: 7. Can I use the Rode NT5 (matched pair) for choir recording? Thank you.

A: Yes, that is what I am using them for. They sound great even from a distance of 20 feet. This is quite remarkable considering our choir does not face the microphones, but rather face each other. Our choir is located in the back of the church in a balcony. I mounted them on the side pillars and angled them towards the choir.

Q: 8. What windscreen and windjammer are suitable for these microphones?

A: There is no windshield made specifically for the CEntrance PivotMic PM1 XY Stereo Condenser Recording Microphone, but you could potentially use a windjammer such as B&H # AUWRWH4N.

Q: 9. Can I connect these directly to my Zoom F3 ( since the NT5 has Male 3 Pin XLR) or do I need an XLR connector?

A: Although the Rode NT5 Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphones have XLR male connections onboard, their form factor would not allow them to be connected directly to the inputs on the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder. The NT5 should make connection to the F3's inputs via standard 3-Pin XLR cable.

Q: 10. Does ride ws 8 windscreen fits this microphone?

A: No, the Rode WS 8 windscreen fits microphones with a diameter of 20mm and the SE Electronics SE7 has a diameter of 12.7 mm.

[Side Address] Absolutely love this mic. For the price it is an absolute bargain. It sounds great, it’s built really well, and since it is a more sensitive mic you don’t have to jack up your gain making it really versatile.

[Solid-State] In other words, excellent! Outstanding! I went back and forth between this mic and Neumann U87, having tried the TLM 103 in a similar price range and having been disappointed with the 103's tinny and thin response. If you're looking for a vocal mic, look no further. At half the price (or less) of a U87, you can have an authentic German large diaphragm cardioid condenser mic that is extremely quiet, with beautiful, buttery sound, and which is very forgiving and much more compact then the U87 form factor. I use this mike in a whisper room sound booth, primarily for voiceover and I can tell you the difference I am hearing, even between my trusty, industry stalwart 416: the noise floor is lower, with less detectable mouth sounds, and it feels like the dynamic range is greater than the short shotgun, with absolutely no boomy booth sound. I'm in love with this mike and I think you will be too.

[Side Address] These Rode M5 compact microphones are way more than awesome!! They are not what I expected but they were much much more. I just received them last week and have already used them on a filming job of a choir. When I did a run thru very first time with the choir last Thursday I had my headphones on just making the necessary audio adjustments and my other videographer on camera #2 looked at me from across the room where he was running his camera and said Looks like you are happy about something!! I bet it's those new Rode mics!! Never seen you with a smile like that in a long time!!! I just gave him a thumbs up and was totally way overwhelmed. The sound is what I would expect from a $2,000 plus microphone. Anyway, this is a MUST BUY and you probably better buy quickly from B&H because the pricing on this won't stay this cheap for long.

[48 V] With the pair of microphones mounted on the stereo bar I was able to easily capture a conversation of two documentary subjects, avoiding the hassle of panning a single shotgun mic or fussing with lav mics. The sound quality in the recording was lovely, and the convenience of mounting the mics next to each other and directed toward the subjects was phenomenal. This setup opens up many possibilities at a modest price. My first real-world use case was a resounding success.

[Nickel] I bought this ORTF Microphone for a Live Piano/ Oboe concert. Amongst some of the other top condensers I own it played a crucial role in picking up the Balance from the FOH in the Audience. It did an amazing job. I basically used it as my main mic and just filled in the Mix with some of my closer condensers. The recording was of a Piano/ Oboe concert with as many as 12 oboist playing at once. It was quiet, Smooth yet Silky on the top. I thought about the Schoeps but for a 20th of the price I cant see how I could be any happier

[Mono] I'm using this with my PreSonus 24c Digital Audio interface connected to my M1 Max, Macbook Pro laptop.

I spend a lot of time on conference calls, and don't like wearing headsets and so I've been using a digital audio interface with an XLR mic for a few years to not have to use headsets or bluetooth earpieces when working with customers. My initial setup had a cheap(ish) Condenser mic from Audio-Technica. It worked well, and sounded better than my headsets or my airpods, but still picked up a lot more background noise than I would have liked.

This mic is a huge upgrade. The sound quality is definitely much better and my voice comes through much nicer. But it's also more focused. It picks up much less background noise from other places in the house and does a much better job isolating on me talking.

I'm not an audiophile. I'm not recording audiobooks or doing music of any kind. I'm occasionally recording technical guidance videos, but mostly I'm just on Zoom calls. For what I'm doing, this is probably a luxury item upgrade, but it's definitely an upgrade. If I ever start podcasting or streaming, I'll definitely be even happier to have this mic than I am already!
