IOGEAR's 8-Port Dual-Link DVI Secure KVM Switch is NIAP-certified and compliant with PP3.0 (Protection Profile for Peripheral Sharing Switch version 3.0) requirements, satisfying the latest security requisites set by the US Department of Defense for peripheral sharing switches.

Common criteria compliance ensures maximum information security while sharing a single set of approved HIDs - keyboards, mice, speakers, CAC readers, and Microsoft Biometric Readers - between multiple computers. Conformity with Protection Profile v3.0 certifies that non-approved USB peripherals will be rejected and cannot be connected to the Secure KVM, providing high-level security, protection, and data safekeeping.

The IOGEAR Secure KVM Switch's hardware security is comprised of tamper-evident seals, active chassis intrusion detection, and tamperproof hardware. Embedded software security allows administrators to grant controlled USB port access for keyboards, mice, and other devices while ignoring commands from non-HIDs when switching between ports. The onboard software restricts mouse and hotkey commands while clearing the keyboard's buffer when switching ports while ensuring data travels isolated on each port preventing exposure.

The 8-Port Dual-Link DVI Secure KVM supports a single view display and HD resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this switch hand out DHCP?

A: Since the TP-Link TL-SG1005P 5-Port Gigabit PoE+ Managed Switch is a managed switch, you are able to hand out DHCP.

Q: 2. Will it work with Epson Sure Color P400?

A: Yes, Any printer that uses USB 2.0 shall be able to connect to this printer switch. Customer also has to install the printer driver on both computers.

Q: 3. is this rackmountable?

A: The TP-Link TL-SG2008 V3 JetStream 8-Port Gigabit Managed Switch is not rackmountable.

Q: 4. Are powered switches like this more reliable than passive switches?

A: The IOGEAR 3-Port True DCI/UHD 4K HDMI Switch will be very reliable. But if you compare it with a button-based HDMI switch, like the model below from Kramer, it would be a more reliable, better-quality switch. Kramer SWT3-41-H 4x1 4K60 HDMI Switcher BH #KRSWT341H

Q: 5. Can it be controller from Omada OC200/300 controller?

Q: 7. Specifications say 23.8Mbps, this seems very slow for a Gigabit switch! Is this a misprint?

A: I always have issues converting bauds to bytes... so in real world, this switch let me transfer files at 103-105 Megabytes per second, almost twice of my previos switches (those small 3Com 8 100/1000mbps ports). I will buy it again if I have to.

Q: 8. Which hardware version is this? v1 or v2?

A: As of 1/29/21 stock, we have V1.

Q: 9. Is it fanless

A: This model is fanless.

[AC Adapter] One monitor, two computers. Both computers have DVI port. This product is working well - 1 week. Had similar product from IOgear - for VGA. Used for 10 years - no problems.

[8] This is the best KVM that I have ever owned. It works very well for two monitors. I game with it and I do not notice any video or audio degradation. Computers boot better on this kvm than any other kvm that I have owned in the past. Hotkey switching has worked perfectly after getting a wired keyboard; wireless keyboards are not supported. It is a large unit and it is under my computer table. I have never had to reach under the table to correct this kvm. I like it a lot and recommend it for anyone who wants to switch computers via two monitors. I did buy this at BH Photo and am happy.

[8] My work (Windows) laptop is typically docked and connected to two 22" monitors, one VGA connection and one DVI connection. I have a Mac Mini as well, using the DVI input on second monitor (with HDMI to DVI converter). Was previously using wireless mouse and USB mechanical keyboard for the laptop, and a wireless keyboard/mouse for the Mac, switching inputs via the monitor menu. Too much clutter. Finally bought the KVM switch; should have done it years ago. Now I have just the wireless mouse, USB mechanical keyboard, and an easy push-button swap between Mac and work laptop. My only minor complaint is the 3-second lag when switching. First world problems. Graphics are fine for me, but I'm not pushing anything graphics-intensive on either machine. Overall, a wonderful addition to the home office to reduce clutter and make toggling between work and wasting time during work hours much easier.

[Metal] It was easy to set up and install. It's very straight forward. It switches between 2 computers as it's meant too. I would recommend if this is your intended goal.

[AC Adapter] The device was very intuitive and easy to setup. It did not take very long to get both systems up and running. And it worked the first time. I would recommend it to anyone hunting for a good KVMP switch.

[0 to 80%] I have a laptop docking station (display port, dvi) and a PC (dvi, dvi) connected to the switch. the switch is then connected to one monitor via dvi, and the other via a dvi-hdmi cable. My docking station requires an adapter for the display port. I am having no issues switching between the two. The PC and laptop goes to sleep just as it did before using the switch.

One thing that is a bit odd is the monitor that is connected via the dvi-hdmi cable will randomly come on even if neither the PC or laptop is on. Not a big deal, I just turn the monitor off when I am done using it.

[Metal] I work with two Kubuntu 12.04 Linux workstations continuously connected, and a Windows 7 employer's Lenovo 530 laptop that I connect every evening on returning home and disconnect every morning when heading to work (via a Lenovo docking station continuously connected). My monitors are dual Dell 3007 2560x1600 dual-link DVI, keyboard Avant Stellar (PCI connector via USB adapter), with a Microsoft wireless mouse. When using the laptop, I can use its screen in addition to the two Dells. I can switch among these seamlessly. I even have the less-used Linux workstation normally sleeping, as it wakes up properly as soon as I select it. A nice touch is that one Dual-Link DVI cable of each pair has the USB and audio cables integrated into it, keeping the wiring rat's nest manageable. The only annoyance is that, inevitably, because the external monitor configuration for the Windows 7 Lenovo 530 at the office differs, I need to reposition some windows when moving between home and office. But once I got the Windows configuration set up properly, the laptop at least automatically recognizes which monitor configuration it's connected to. (Because the DVI outputs of the Lenovo docking station are single-link, it's necessary to use its HDMI outputs and interpose Accel HDMI to Dual DVI converters between it and the MiniView.)
