    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there any know softbox brands that this speedring does NOT work with? i.e. That the receiving holes are too small for the end of the rib/poles?

A: From our experience, softboxes like the Profoto RFi series would have trouble inserting into this speed ring.

Q: 2. can the base separate?I would like to confirm if on this unit, are the 4 screws at the bottom of the base that are shown in the photo, is it possible if those were loosen, that I could then detach the black rubber neck piece, resulting in having 2 separate pieces?I have a older Photoflex Octobox that I use with another strobe, and when I mounted my octobox to those strobes there was a plate that appears to look just like the one in this photo but it does not have that wide base part with the 4 screws, which is where the rods connect to.I have the D2 profoto now, but i just need the speedring that will slide onto barrel of my profoto and the other end will be the thin, flat, round plate that I would connect to my octobox and tighthen down with the 4 screws it has.So if I could verify that this item could be separated into 2 pieces, this might be what I have been looking for?

A: The center ring and the outer ring can be detached from one another, however if you just need the center ring for a custom set up, we also offer the Profoto Adapter Plate for Custom Made Reflectors to fit Profoto Flash Heads B&H # PRAPR. Please see the image below.

A: This ring has an outer diameter that is a little over 5 10/16 while the inner diameter is 4 5/8 .

Q: 5. what is the actual diameter of the flange? I'm trying to see if the Profoto insert will also work in other modifiers.

A: As per the manufacturer, the diameter of the flange is 4

Q: 6. Does this work to use in an Paul buff Octabox and a B1 light?

A: As long as it's traditional octabox with a removeable speedring, yes.

[0.52 lb] I have two of these and I'm using them on my photoflex half domes for the past 6 years. I had no issues with them whatsoever and, they work just fine. I am writing this since there are so many bad reviews. I have no idea why, but if you're going with these, go with confidence.

[6.5 x 6 x 3.3"] This speed ring adapter is solid metal, and has perfectly engineered tolerances to snugly fit the Phottix light modifiers on to any Profoto lights. In fact, this locks tighter than some of my Profoto brand modifiers do! Highly recommended. Inexpensive for the quality.
