The MuxLab Dante Quad Channel Audio PoE Gatewayfrom MuxLab Dante Quad Channel Audio PoE Gatewaypermits non-Dante compatible analog audio equipment to interface with Dante compatible professional audio equipment. It can be used to transmit dual two-channel or quad single-channel full-range audio—20 Hz to 20 kHz—over the network to Dante. In addition, dual two-channel or quad single-channel balanced analog audio signals may also be received from Dante compatible equipment in the same manner.

The unit may be connected via Cat 5e/6 cable up to 330' from an Ethernet switch. The Dante/Quad Channel Audio PoE Gateway includes four single-channel balanced analog audio-in and four single-channel balanced analog audio-out ports via phoenix connectors. The quad single-channel balanced analog audio-in ports may be connected to line-level balanced analog audio signals or to line-level balanced microphones.

Furthermore, the quad single-channel balanced analog audio-out ports may be connected to balanced analog audio amplifiers supporting line-level inputs, such as a zone amplifier (100W), or to two pairs of powered speakers for direct sound output. Finally, the Dante/Quad Channel Audio PoE Gateway can be powered by a PoE Ethernet switch. Cables and a power supply are not included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the input version and output version of these units be used together as a standalone 2 channel dante system?

A: Yes you can, however you would need a switch as well.

Q: 2. Can I use Dante AVIO 2-Channle Analog "Input" Adapter to connect legacy analog speakers?

A: This is not the correct Dante adapter to output audio signals from a Dante network into your speakers. Audinate Dante AVIO 2-Channel XLR Analog Output Adapter for Dante Audio Network, BH #AUADPDAOAU2 would be the appropriate Dante adapter. The ouput adapter's male XLR connectors would go into the input of your legacy speakers.

Q: 3. How to find this MAC address

A: The address of Dante devices such as the Audinate Dante AVIO 1-Channel XLR Analog Output Adapter for Dante Audio Network can many times be found on the physical unit itself. Alternatively, the device and address could also be located in the Dane Controller. The article linked here provides further insight: https://bit.ly/3hr4rSI

Q: 4. What is the latency? How do we get clock if using both madi in/ out. How do I get a demo of this product?

A: This is a high quality audio interface with extremely low latency. The MADI input would be the master clock in your set up, and you would have almost zero percent latency. RME does not provide an exact number for latency.

Q: 5. How to find mac address

Q: 6. I'm looking to connect the headphone jack on my Behringer X-Air XR-18 to Dante for remote monitoring. What would I need in addition to or in place of this? Headphone port is a 1/4" TRS Stereo jack.

A: What's needed is cables and a headphone amp: 1/4" trs male to (2) XLR male(B&H # KOSMYCM2XM03 with HOGHP105 for stereo audio. , connect to the Dante XLR's, then a headphone amp at the other end, such as : B&H # PRHP2 or similar.

Q: 7. Will the AVIO 1 Input adapter except a 25 volt or 70 volt audio signal or does it need to be adapted to a line level first?

A: The Audinate Dante AVIO 1-Channel Analog Input Adapter for Dante Audio Network is intended for a balanced, line-level input signal.

Q: 8. Does this work with Apple Silicon?

A: Yes, the RME Digiface Dante is compatible with M1/M2 Mac computers. Detailed instructions for driver installation can be found here: https://www.rme-audio.de/rme-macos.html

Q: 9. The analog input to the AVIO 1, Does it need to be line level or can it receive audio from 25volt and 70 volt signal?

A: The Audinate Dante AVIO 1-Channel XLR Analog Output Adapter provides a balanced, line level analog output signal from the XLR male connector. So this adapter sends analog audio from a Dante network into an analog XLR input.

Q: 10. if I have an output and input adapter do I still need some type of Dante management software for them to work or does it just work automatically?

A: The Audinate Dante AVIO 1-Channel XLR Analog Input and Output Adapters for Dante Audio Network provide plug and play operation. A common PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch is required and the Dante Avio adapters are compatible with Dante Domain Manager software for IT-level security and management. Dante Controller software can be used on any connected Windows or Mac computer in order to adjust audio controls for the Dante AVIO adapters. The software options can be used if desired, but it is not required for the adapters to function.

[1 lb] Easily added a pair of inputs to a largely software based Dante setup. Simple, straightforward, and thusfar flawless addition.

[1 lb] I have had this 2 input Dante Unit AVIO for about 6 months now.  I have only used it in the studio and it has been a nice functional piece adding Dante to a stereo channel rack mic preamp unit reliably and without any issues.  I can say I originally tried a cheap POE injector from online and it didnt work. but works just fine with my Cisco SG300 router with POE.  I do wish they made 4 channel versions as well or even an 8 on the input end, to reduce the need for lots of router channels.  Otherwise, great sounding and so far rock solid.

[1 lb] This was a perfect fit for my situation. My client only had on four wire shielded cable and there was no way to run a Cat6 or Digital coax to that space. I connected a MuxLab Digital Audio Balun and the problem was resolved. Works Great!

[Dante] Added to my pair of DANTE AVIO 1 out devices to round out the set... now I can use my spare ethernet wires to add additional input to network.

Bonus is that it can be the master clock.

[1.5 lb / 0.7 kg] Most important - Easy and quick setup.

This is being used on a Midas M32. The AVIO uses 2 channels such as 7 & 8 that will need to be linked.

It does require Dante virtual soundcard for pc or mac and you will need Dante controller (free) for mapping the channels needed.

This requires POE.
