Sometimes we have remove the camera from the tripod in order to put back later, before we looked at the scale and recorded in our minds the number it was in and that helps when we put it back on the tripod.

[0.45 lb] This system is fast, stable, and solid. I ordered a couple of these to supplement the base (which already came with one plate). It has a 1/4 x 20 screw and comes with a 3/8 adapter. On one of my plates the adapter screw head was broken, but I had spares in my kit. 1/4is handy if you want to attach equipment such as an action-cam mount to this plate. Adapting to 1/4 from 3/8 would likely be less stable than going 1/4 to 3/8 with the included insert.
