      Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it work with a Regal Scope? In my case it is about Celestron Regal 80 ED.THANKS!

A: Yes, the Regal 80 range spotting scope works with all standard 1.25 eye pieces.

Q: 2. i have a range of spotting scopes and have just bought a televue 85 scope i want to see the birds clearly that my 82 leica 65 leica and 65 vanguard can't at long range so this eyepiece only gives me the same as them am i correct in that ?

A: Well it depends on the Focal Length of your scope. That is what determines the power of this eyepiece technically. You take the Focal Length of your Scope and divide it by the Millimeter of the Eyepiece.

      Q: 3. Durability and practicality ?

A: The SMC XF 6.5-19.5 eyepiece is very well made, with high quality optics. I have used my scope in rain and fog without any problems. The actual scope is some kind of durable plastic construction which has held up, especially with the case that allows you to open the front and back and leave the case on for added protection. My ONLY con is the eye relief is real short, I wish I had a little more space, but that being said the view is crystal clear, bright, and detailed. Hope this helps in your decision.Note: the original one I had was stolen in a home robbery and covered by insurance. I could have bought any other brand, and I re-chose getting the Pentax again.

Q: 4. Does this zoom attach directly to a t-ring?

A: No it does not. It slides into a 1.25" eyepiece sleeve of a telescope.

Q: 5. Are there t-threads behind the eyecup that a T-adapter can screw onto?

      A: The Celestron 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") BH #CEEPZ824 • MFR #93230 has no T-threads.

Q: 6. Hi. Could I attach this to a Nikon D500? If so how can I do it? Thanks.

A: No, this cannot be attached to a DSLR

Q: 7. What is the thread diameter and TPI or Pitch under the rubber eyecup?

A: That information is not published by Celestron

Q: 8. Will this work with my old Pentax 500 spotting scope? I currently am using a Meade MA25mm eyepiece.

A: The Pentax SMC XW 10mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #PEEP10X • MFR #70514 will work with your Pentax 500 spotting scope.

Q: 9. Is this eyepiece threaded at 42mm on the top to attach cameras like the XW eyepieces are?

A: The Pentax SMC 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") BH #PEEP2060X • MFR #70509 does no have any threads for additional add on.

Q: 10. Will it work with Pentax PF-65 ED II (straight body) ?

      A: Yes, it will

[18.0 to 22.0 mm] With the wide field of view, this eyepiece gives stunning views. Crisp, clear. I own 4 Pentax eyepieces. All of them are excellent.

[1.385 lb] This is a well matched eyepiece for the Pentax 80MM spotting scope. Eye relief makes it easy to use with glasses but the relief is better without glasses.

[7.5 x 4 x 3.35"] Since I shoot various calibers, I needed this eyepiece for the differant distances I shoot at. It is very user friendly, and sharp. Quality built.

[1.385 lb] Bright image, excellent eye relief, effective exit pupil and very good build quality. I use the 10mm eyepiece with a Pentax 80mm straight spotting scope for viewing planets and other astronomical subjects. Because I wear glasses, the 10mm with its long eye relief is easier to use than the 8 to 24mm zoom. I use the zoom for daytime subjects.

[1.385 lb] I use this for viewing wildlife or paper targets at distances from 100 yards to 400 yards. In combination with the Pentax PF-80ED spotting scope, this product has given excellent image quality under a wide range of light conditions. Brightness of image, contrast, colors, and resolution are all exceptionally good. I've owned this combination for over a decade and have never felt any need to upgrade further. At 100 yards, with this optic dialed to it's 8 mm setting (60X for the combination with the 80mm scope), it is easy to clearly identify things as small as flies against the white background of a target. It is very easy to determine whether scoring rings have been touched or broken. At 300 yards it is easy to score deer on the Boone & Crockett scale with a little experience. As is true with any high magnification optic, it is essential to have a stable base. I use a heavy Bogen tripod. I can't think of a thing that I do not love about this eyepiece when used with my Pentax PF-80EF spotting scope. It is a rugged, well built, optically excellent product. I would buy it again, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend or relative.

[18.0 to 22.0 mm] A high quality spotting scope is nothing with out an equally high quality eyepiece and thats exactly what the Pentax SMC XF 6.5-19.5 zoom eyepiece is.
