Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the support lock on the 15mm rods? In other words, is the locking lever only for the post or does it lock both the post and the support to the rods simultaneously ?

A: The lever does the rods. The knob tightens the rod support.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Tilta Arri Standard Dovetail and baseplate? The rails sit wider than say the Zacuto universal baseplate.

A: Hello,The LS-T05 is made for standard 15mm rod systems. If I understand the baseplate you are referencing correctly, that is a 19mm system and is incompatible with the LS-T05 or LS-T05-A, depending on your lens.

Q: 3. This can support a DZOFILMS 50-125 mm lens ?

A: The 8Sinn Universal Lens Support (15mm) can support a DZOFilm Pictor 50 to 125mm T2.8 Super35 Parfocal Zoom Lens.

Q: 4. Does it work with a Canon 17-120 servo lens? Using it with a Sony FX9

A: The Tilta 15mm LWS Rod Lens Support is a Universal lens support solution that would work with any lens. Just add a baseplate with 15mm rods to use the Lens support with any camera model.

Q: 5. Does this match with a Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM Lens paired with Tilta Tiltaing Lightweight Camera Support Kit for Canon C70?

A: As long as you place the Tilta 15mm LWS Rod Lens Support in a position that isn't on a focus or zoom gear, it will support as needed.

Q: 6. Will it work with the DZO PICTOR ZOOM LENS on my FS5?

A: Yes. One of my favs to use at this unit allows horizontal / Vertical adjustment for more flexibility.

Q: 7. I will be shooting an A7s 2 as well as the 28-135 zoom lens - will I need this accessory for my cage???

A: I would recommend getting this. It is a great support for the lens. It works as advertised.

Q: 8. How do you get the other rod to stay in place?

A: Both rods are clamped in a rod support that can be attached to a base support on a tripod or a camera. This LWS lens support is clamped to only one rod and rests on the other rod.

Q: 9. Hi, I plan to buy the Rokinon 16, 35, 50, 85mm Cine DS Lens Bundle for a Blackmagic Micro Cinema (with a speedbooster), for such lenses, do I need a lens support like this at all? Thank you!

A: No I wouldnt use it with those lenses..tend to only use it with 200mm upwards...good bit of gear though that lives setup on a 400mm in my case

Q: 10. I bought this but it's too short to reach some of my lenses. One reviewer mentioned they bought a riser for it - can you let me know what you bought? Thanks!

A: Hello David, what kind of lenses do you use on which camera? I'am using the support for the Canon L 100-400mm lens on my C300MKII and it fits perfect. The support which I bought at B&H came with a riser but I never heard of an extra one, sorry.

[5 oz / 145 g] Love the ability to adjust heights without the bottom sticking out to keep the camera rig leveled on flat surfaces. Build quality is great as well

[0.88" / 22.4 mm] First thing that I have noticed that this lens support is very light and easy to use/mount. I like the fact that bottom part is not long and it does not stick out from the bottom of the rods like the old SmallRig support I own.

[5 oz / 145 g] This is a great solution for fixing a heavy lens. Simple but gets the job done and doesn't take up too much space inbetween follow focus, matte box etc

[0.6 lb] A lens support is important, not only for relieving most of the strain on the lens mount, but for keeping the lens stable against reaction forces by motors and follow-focus devices. It also acts like a spreader to stabilize a pair of 15mm support rods. The height is quickly adjustable using a captive nut, but cannot be locked in position. The Y is wider than it needs to be, and won't fit between rods without a bit if gymnastics. That can be tricky if you wish to add the support to a rig already set up with follow focus. The Y is also unpadded. Although unlikely to scratch the lens, I intend to add some polymer tape for cushioning. That said, the price is right, and it is well made, without sharp edges.

[0.88" / 22.4 mm] A "professional" lens support with many included height adjustment options without the hefty Arri price.

The only downside - the Base Extension is not captive in the Universal Lens Support, so if not attached to the Rolling Bracket or an Extension Post, the Base Extension can fall out of the lens support.

The package includes:

3/8 Extension Post x 2

1-3/8" Extension Post x 1

11/16" Extension Post x 1

Rolling Bracket, from base to top of roller is " tall.

Rolling Bracket cradle width, from outer edge of each roller is 1-3/4

Rolling Bracket depth at the roller is 7/16

Universal Lens Support is " from top of rod to top of support.

[LWS 15mm] We use these with our Canon 15-120 and 25-250, and they work GREAT. We actually prefer them to more expensive models from other makers because they are lower profile, which means you can set down the camera on a flat surface without it tipping over. The included extension adapters are also wonderful to build it up to the lens without extra rod sticking out the bottom (which again would let the camera tip over) - others charge $50+ for these.

[LWS 15mm] No reason to pay more. This is the perfect rod mount lens support. If there's a singular wish, it might be that the extension rods came with a lock washer so they stay together. Love that it easily comes apart so it is nice and small in a case. A+
