Make long-range observations or explore the night sky using the Celestron 15x70 SkyMaster Binocularsfrom Celestron. These binoculars are specifically designed for those tasks and possesses two distinct characteristics that set them apart from many other binoculars and make them a good fit for the purpose. First is the extra-wide 70mm objective aperture, which allows lots of light and delivers good visibility in low-light conditions. Second is their high 15x magnification power, which enables you to have good close-ups on distant objects, even the moon and the stars. These binoculars have a configuration that allows you to observe celestial objects with both eyes, an advantage over regular telescopes. Also, they are fully assembled and ready to be mounted on a tripod using the included adapter. To ensure that you get clear images without glare, the lenses are anti-reflection multi-coated. Other highlights of the optic are its center focusing, interpupillary adjustment, and diopter corrector. To protect these binoculars while not in use, objective lens covers are included, along with a rainguard for the eyepieces, and a carry case.

[4.7 mm] Very well built and the views are sharp and very contrasty. Very little CA when viewing the moon which is a big plus. Overall, these are a keeper.

[Center] I read the reviews and had some concerns regarding the complaints about the optical alignment issues. Maybe I just had good luck, but my binoculars arrived perfectly aligned. I can see at least 3 of Jupiter's moons with these, and easily resolved the SpaceX Falcon Heavy spacecraft during the USSF-67 launch 130 miles away (Gainesville to Kennedy Space Center). These provide a bright image with minimal chromatic aberration. Best with a steady hand or a tripod. Probably too much magnification for general boating use, but not bad on solid ground. The tripod mount is easy to install and remove. I would purchase again.

[Porro (BAK4)] These are the first astronomy binoculars I've bought, so I don't have anything to compare them to other than the (still fun!) 8x42 birding binocs i have. Since I didn't have the experience to know exactly what to look for, I did a lot of googling before i settled on these. They work great! I can see the orion nebula, the moon's landscape, i was even able to see the 4 big moons of jupiter! I live in a fairly rural area with pretty minimal light pollution, and jupiter's moons were definitely at the upper limit of what these binocs could see, but i wasn't expecting to see them at all so that was pretty exciting. They aren't light, but the only tripod i have is for a camera, and the binocs are too heavy for it if they're pointed very far up in the sky. So i mostly have been using them hand-held until i can get a good tripod, and that's actually surprisingly manageable, especially if i brace them on a fence or on my body to cut down on the wiggles. Also, I wear glasses, and have no problem with the eye relief. All in all a really great buy for a beginner! I only wish the carrying bag came with a few pockets for the extra eye cups and other small bits that come with the binocs.

[70 mm] i also have the celestron 20x80 skymaster pros...both are superb...bought the smaller ones because they can be used hand held whereas the larger ones need a tripod, even for someone quite strong...anyway the clarity is excellent as is the light gathering...great for the price...
