Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this include a tray to actually place a filter inside it? Or do I have to purchase the dual filter slot with it?

A: The filter tray is sold separately. The link below is the tray you will need: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1672670-REG/tilta_mb_t16_dcf_dual_circular_filter_tray.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 2. I've seen reviews on other sites stating that anything wider than 35mm (on full frame sensor) the edges of this tray impose on the frame, is this correct?

A: Yes, there will be some vignetting happening using lenses wider than 35mm on a full-frame sensor. To prevent vignetting, you will need to use focal lengths beyond 35mm for Full Frame and 24mm for S35.

Q: 3. Dose it has a Ultra-Short version like EOS adapter?

A: Celestron T-Ring for Nikon F-Mount Cameras BH #CETRN • MFR #93402

Q: 4. Is there a way to hold a 4x4 filter with this filter tray?

A: Unfortunately, I do not think this would support 4x4 filter sizes as well since it is specifically designed for 4x5.65 filter sizes.

Q: 5. How do I connect this filter to my Olympus Zuiko f/4 300mm PRO lens?

A: I have no idea how you would attach a 2" Alpine Astronomical Baader Neodymium Moon & Skyglow Filter (2") BH #ALFMS2 • MFR #FMS-2 1 review Alpine Astronomical to a lens having a 77mm opening

Q: 6. Is this 48mm?

A: No it is 2 inches which equals 50.8 mm B+W 48mm UV/IR Cut MRC 486M Filter BH #BW486MC48 • MFR #66-1069163 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/718417-REG/B_W_66_098546_66_098546_48mm_UV_IR_Cut.html

Q: 7. Will this take a 4x4 filter as well?

A: The Tilta 4 x 5.65" Stackable Filter Tray Holder for Mirage Matte Box (B&H# TIMBT16SFH) would require a filter tray to hold the 4x4" filter (just as it would a 4x5.65" filter), but with the appropriate tray it could use a 4x4" filter, yes.

Q: 8. Do these filters come with a case?

A: Each filter comes in a plastic case

Q: 9. Is this filters that make planets less bright?

A: The Alpine Astronomical Baader 3.0 Neutral Density Filter is used to reduce the amount of light coming into your eye during lunar observation and improve the view and contrast. It is not made for planetary use.

Q: 10. Do Tilta or anyone else sale 4x5.65 to 4x4 adapter?

A: Yes. The following 4x4 or 100mm filters will adapt to the system holder. LEE Filters 100 x 100mm Schneider 4 x 4" 2mm LEE Filters 4x4

[0.125 lb] I am using the clamp on a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer 2i mount. It is quite versatile in that it can be attached to a mount in several ways. It is very well built and enables secure attachment of lenses/telescopes with Vixen dovetail bars. A very good value.

[0.125 lb] I recently purchased a Nexstar C5. I wanted to replace the 1 1/4" Visual back adapter and supplied diagonal. The Baader Short T adapter allows the use of the Baader T2 prism on this telescope. This combination has full clearance from the drive base at zenith. Some thing that you have to be very careful of when you replace any of the optical path with larger or better products. It also allows for clearance when the Celestron Wi-Fi adapter is inserted into the base. For the smaller nextar mounts the adapter is almost directly under the telescope but at an angle. The combination of this T adapter with the prism is very efficient tight and requires no set screws. It absolutely looks like how this mounting should've been done originally. Please note that the prism is the smallest T2 diagonal that Baader makes with the 32 mm clear light path. And normally comes equipped with an 1 1/4" nose piece on one side and an 1 1/4" eyepiece holder with helical fine focuser on the other. Simply unscrew the nosepiece from the prism and replace it with this short T adapter. There are larger diagonals with both mirror and prism in the Baader line and I cannot vouch for clearance with those models.

[0.125 lb] This dovetail clamp is well made and has a quality finish. I am building my own custom telescope mount and this clamp should be a secure fixture for my application. The clamp accommodates Vixen-style dovetail bars and should support small to medium size telescopes without a problem. However, I would NOT put a large, heavy telescope on this clamp.

[0.125 lb] There is no better narrowband green filter for astronomical observations and photography. I have been observing since 1974 and this filter has turned my achromatic refractor into an apochromat. Viewing on the Moon cannot be sharper eliminating chromatic aberration by using one wavelength of color and then converting to black and white monochrome. Baader's reputation exceeds itself.

[0.125 lb] I bought this to see if it would help bring out some color and detail for my astrophotography. I have little light pollution in my area but it this thing really does what it's supposed to. I did some test shots with a colorchecker passport in regular daylight and the difference is definitely noticeable. There's a very clear boost in color and slight boost in contrast, what I mean is that they appear more clearly and saturated. It's magic! I might even start using this for some regular photography too! I have to use step-down adapters to fit these onto my lenses as I am not using it with a telescope (67mm, 58mm, 52mm). I just wish they made these in sizes native to DSLR/Mirrorless lenses! Highly recommend! Also if you are someone purchasing for a DSLR/Mirrorless camera, Get the 2 version of course, and you will need step-down/step-up adapters to 48mm. Even though 2 is not 48mm, that is the threads for this baader filter. I recommend the sensei filter adapters, cheap and very well made. In order to adapt some lens sizes down to 48mm, you might have to buy a couple adapters and stack them. I had to do this for my larger 67mm lenses. There will of course be vignetting when doing this, but its no big deal to me.

[0.125 lb] One of the best items I've purchased for my 140mm telescope.
The reduction in sky glow and the contrast improvement add to those Oh, Wow! moments of star gazing.
