Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use the T-mount adapter shown in "Recimmended Accessories" to shoot through this eyepiece with my D-SLR? I already have one, and a Nikon F-mount adapter. Can I just screw it to the threads on the viewing end of the eyepiece, then attach my D-SLR via my Nikon adapter, or do I need to get a special connector?

A: You need this adapter to attach a T mount adapter, Alpine Astronomical Baader Hyperion M43/T-2 T-Adapter BH #ALHTA43T2 • MFR #HTA43/T2 https://bhpho.to/30q8Ltq

Q: 2. How can we adapt the 2" UV bandpass filter to a Sony E-mount 49mm lens?

A: I know of no adapter to mount a 2" (50.8mm) filter on to a 49mm opening. I do know some that use gaffing tape.

Q: 3. What accessories would I need to mount my Nikon F-mount DSLR to this eyepiece to shoot through it?

A: A T-mount adapter; BH# VELANFT. And depending on sensor size, some combination of extension tubes from the Alpine Astro T2 System for full coverage; BH# ALT225A .

Q: 4. how to adapt this to a camera lens with a 62mm thread (yes, this will result in some vignetting which I will have to tolerate)?

A: Currently B&H does not stock an adapter allowing the Alpine Astronomical H-Alpha 20nm Bandpass Filter (2") to a camera lens with a 62mm thread.

Q: 5. What is the outer housing diameter of this piece?? I need it to fit inside the 1.25" Orion Variable Universal Camera Adapter. So this eyepiece needs to have an outside diameter of less than 38.3mm.

A: The outer housing diameter of this eyepiece is listed at 101.5 mm so it would not fit.

Q: 6. Would this lens Will this EP work effectively in a f/10 C5 scope?

A: Yes this Eyepiece would work with that Scope.

Q: 7. How do I connect this filter to my Olympus Zuiko f/4 300mm PRO lens?

A: I have no idea how you would attach a 2" Alpine Astronomical Baader Neodymium Moon & Skyglow Filter (2") BH #ALFMS2 • MFR #FMS-2 1 review Alpine Astronomical to a lens having a 77mm opening

Q: 8. Do these filters come with a case?

A: Each filter comes in a plastic case

Q: 9. Is this 48mm?

A: No it is 2 inches which equals 50.8 mm B+W 48mm UV/IR Cut MRC 486M Filter BH #BW486MC48 • MFR #66-1069163 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/718417-REG/B_W_66_098546_66_098546_48mm_UV_IR_Cut.html

Q: 10. I have a Fuji X-Pro3 and T-Adaptor (for Fuji). Do I need this B&H #ALHTA43T2 in order to connect to the Mark 4 zoom?

A: That is correct, the B&H #ALHTA43T2 adapter is necessary to attach to T Mounts.

[1x Blue Filter] This eyepiece provides an unsurpassed combination of wide field and long eye relief. So if you're looking for both in a single ocular, look no further. It's wonderfully comfortable, and just...gets out of the way.

[0.06 lb] I have a Celestron Astro Fi 130 telescope. It came with 10mm and 25mm lenses. The 10mm field of view is so narrow that finding objects was often very difficult, even when I used the lower magnification 25mm lens to center the object.
This Alpin Astronomical Baader lens has a wider field of view than the 25 mm lens my telescope came with. When I realized that, I stopped using the 25mm lens to align my mount.

The rubberized grip is nice. This is a large lens. It weighs significantly more than the factory lenses.

I have also used this lens with a 2x barlow lens. I was able to see rings on Saturn and even some hints of banding on Jupiter. Not bad for a 130mm aperture. The wide field of view meant I could point to those planets without aligning my telescope (because they were setting and I didn't have enough visible stars or time to align) and family members had enough time to take turns viewing the planets without having the objects drift out of view.

This was one of the most expensive accessories I purchased for my telescope, but it has enhanced my enjoyment significantly.

[470 nm] There is no better narrowband green filter for astronomical observations and photography. I have been observing since 1974 and this filter has turned my achromatic refractor into an apochromat. Viewing on the Moon cannot be sharper eliminating chromatic aberration by using one wavelength of color and then converting to black and white monochrome. Baader's reputation exceeds itself.

[1x Blue Filter] This eyepiece is absolutely perfect. It has plenty of eye relief, and a good field of view. Optically your view is real clear and crisp. I was so impressed by the performance of this eyepiece that I bought more of them in different magnifications so I could cover all aspects of enjoying the night sky. A great price range for this level of performance. In short, these are a must have!

[0.06 lb] Bought this with the 14mm and 28mm fine tuning rings (ftr) that are sold separately. The 1.25 nosepiece has a Barlow lens because if you take off the 1.25 and put it in a 2 diagonal it is 22.9mm still with the 68 afov.
With the 14 & 28mm ftr together it is 8.1mm focal length. So with one eyepiece I can get 13mm,10.8mm, 9.2mm, 8.1mm and basically 23mm focal lengths all in one eyepiece. I mainly use the 13mm and 23mm and save the 8mm for closeup views of small globular clusters and other DSOs.
It has an excellent flat field view to the edges and especially considering the price it is as good or near as good as EPs that cost three times as much. Baader hit it out of the ballpark with this one.
