Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these filters work with the Meade 114EQ-AST 4.5 /114mm Reflector Telescope Kit B&H # ME114EQST / MFR # 04066-1 ? How do they compare to the Meade #3200 Lunar and Planetary Color 4-Piece Filter Set ?

A: Yes this filter set will be compatible with your Meade 114EQ-AST 4.5 /114mm Reflector Telescope Kit. Both kits are actually somewhat comparable. Some reviewers have said the Meade is better quality wise. Personally I think they are the same.

Q: 2. Do these filters come with a case?

A: Each filter comes in a plastic case

Q: 3. How do you fit this eyepiece to the diagonal that comes standard with Celestron Nexstar 8SE?

A: It fits the Celestron 8se directly as long as you are not using the 2" Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter.

Q: 4. Is this the filters that makes planets not looks like a white dots and see details?

A: The Alpine Astronomical Baader 0.9 Neutral Density Filter is not for planetary use. It is used to help reduce the brightness of the moon so you can see the details of the moon better and improves contrast.

Q: 5. Would this lens Will this EP work effectively in a f/10 C5 scope?

A: Yes this Eyepiece would work with that Scope.

Q: 6. will this product be compatible with the NexStar 8se?

A: Have a look at your eyepieces: there should be an internal thread on the end that goes into the telescope focusser. If so the Celestron eyepiece filters will fit, in fact they will screw into most brands of 1.25 eyepieces. However, they will not fit any 2 or the older 0.965 eyepieces. Kind Regards, Ian

Q: 7. Is this eyepiece waterproof?

A: The Alpine Astronomical Baader Hyperion 8-24mm Mark IV Zoom Eyepiece (1.25"/2") BH #ALHYPZOOM • MFR #HYP-ZOOM is not waterproof.

Q: 8. Is this filters that make planets less bright?

A: The Alpine Astronomical Baader 3.0 Neutral Density Filter is used to reduce the amount of light coming into your eye during lunar observation and improve the view and contrast. It is not made for planetary use.

Q: 9. It says you can remove the smaller nosepiece to use the 2" barrel. But it changes the focal length. To what?

A: This is the only information being offered by Alpine Astronomical https://alpineastro.com/products/baader-13mm-hyperion-68-modular-eyepiece#description

Q: 10. Is it parfocal with other Alpine Hyperion eye pieces?

A: This is the only additional information B&H has on the Alpine Astronomical Baader 72° Hyperion 36mm Aspheric Eyepiece (1.25"/2") https://alpineastro.com/products/baader-36mm-hyperion-aspheric-2-eyepiece And yes to the compatibility with other eyepieces

[Multi-Coating] There is no better narrowband green filter for astronomical observations and photography. I have been observing since 1974 and this filter has turned my achromatic refractor into an apochromat. Viewing on the Moon cannot be sharper eliminating chromatic aberration by using one wavelength of color and then converting to black and white monochrome. Baader's reputation exceeds itself.

[0.13 lb] Baader Orthoscopic EPs are built on the old Zeiss Abbe construction with superior smooth polishing of the lens with anti-reflective coatings that when splitting Mizar down to its smallest star there was no spikiness, just a perfectly round star. It is very sharp and bright. The little eye guard is handy because it is a very short eye relief and blocks light from the side. Great for lunar with the proper filter, same for planets and it Barlows very well for Mercury when visible.

[0.13 lb] This eyepiece is absolutely perfect. It has plenty of eye relief, and a good field of view. Optically your view is real clear and crisp. I was so impressed by the performance of this eyepiece that I bought more of them in different magnifications so I could cover all aspects of enjoying the night sky. A great price range for this level of performance. In short, these are a must have!

[Multi-Coating] The 24mm hyperion works very well with my f6.5 achromatic telescope. Its 68 degree FOV translates to 2.4 degree true field of view on that scope, a definite step up from the eyepieces that came with the scope from Celestron. Very little chromatic aberation noticed even looking at the bright moon. The slight green halo at the top edge of the full moon was only noticed when I remembered to look for it - not a problem for me as a visual observer. Jupiter gave good views, only a little soft at the very edge of the field. The only problem I experienced is that it's on the heavy side. I can't achieve balance on my mount the way it's set up.
