Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this item work with a 70 volt amplifier?

A: The AutoHybrid is a passive telephone audio interface, allowing a telephone signal to be brought into a mixing board as an audio signal, and then separating the caller and sender of the call. Typical use is radio call-in shows, podcasts and conferences.

Q: 2. With the 4/5 pin unit, the manual mentions pinouts for an A/B channel system. How does the pack let you choose B or A to speak into?

A: You can use only one headset at a time which can be either 4-pin OR 5-pin configuration. The included 3.5mm TRRS cable allows you to connect the audio from the Outerloop 3.5 to the headphone jack on a smartphone, computer, or other compatible mobile device through unit's the 3.5mm jack. You can then use your mobile device to call into your intercom phone bridge, station phone coupler, or any phone-based intercom app.

Q: 3. I have a multi line LG Ipecs phone system and want an interface for radio interviews. Is this the unit that will do it?

A: This JK system is designed for analog phones and cannot be used with IP phones such as your LG Ipecs system. This may work for you, but it is strongly suggested that uyou verify compatibility with Ipecs support prior to purchasing: https://a href= http://www.ipecs.com/ target= _blank www.ipecs.com//a --------------------------------------------------- JK Audio AutoHybrid IP2 VoIP Hybrid/AoIP Codec B&H # JKAUTOIP2

Q: 4. I am trying this device with an Olympus digital recorder, connected via RCA cable. How do I reduce static noise? It seems that the noise level is amplified when connected. Not sure if the issue is THAT-2 or my battery-powered digital recorder...

A: I have not yet put into use this device

Q: 5. Do you have this in a longer cord? Or is there an extension cord that could be used with this?

A: There are several extension cords which will do this. I recommend using a 1/4 TRS cable such as the ones found at https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=1%2F4%22%20TRS%20extension%20cable&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search= target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=1%2F4%22%20TRS%20extension%20cable&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search=/a .

Q: 6. I have had this unit for a few years; loved it in the beginning, but then....people (on the other end) would have trouble hearing me. Maybe it's my phone line. I have it plugged in to my Mackie 1402- VLZ Pro mixer and I'm told that there's an echo (that mix minus thing..I'm guessing). What can I do to remedy that?

A: You can get a mix minus from an aux bus. Send the aux to the hybrid and pot up everything but the hybrid on that aux bus.

Q: 7. can i use this rig with an Apple iPhone XS to then connect a phone call through a mixing board for an audio podcast?

A: The JK Audio AutoHybrid is a telephone audio interface, specifically for an old-fashioned landline, and will not work with a smartphone. I would recommend the JK Audio Daptor Three Bluetooth Cell Phone Audio Interface, B&H # JKDAP3, which can be connected to your iPhone through a 3,5mm cable or Bluetooth wireless, and can be inputted into your mixer. There is also a LINE IN on the unit, so you can send the signal back to the caller. You would require a mixer with and AUX Out feature.

Q: 8. I am experience a clicking noise when I feed an audio signal through the THAT2 unit. Any recommendations on how to resolve that noise? or suggestion on different equipment.

A: Clicking is often from telephone line. Try using the line input, as a test to see if its clean, then you know its the phone line.

Q: 9. What is the best method to record digital audio (MP3) from telephone interviews using this device? Should it be connected directly to a PC or a digital recording device, like an Olympus recorder? If to PC, is there a specific software to use to record the audio input? If digital recorder is the better option, is there a recommended recorder to use? Finally, what kind of cable should be used to connect the THAT-2 device to the digital audio recording device (PC or digital recorder). Thanks!

A: I connect the THAT-2 to a digital audio recorder using a female XLR-to-male 3.5mm adapter cable (Kopul LMT-100). The 3.5mm plug goes into the mic socket of my small Olympus or the Line-In sockets of larger recorders. After recording, I copy the audio file to my computer for editing or replaying. I suppose one can recorder directly to a PC but I have not done that.Good luck.

Q: 10. I would like to use this device to make engineering test measurements of signals on the POTS phone line (noise, distortion, frequency response, etc.). Are the audio signal levels on the XLR connectors the same as one would measure on the POTS line (w/o the DC of course)? And can both directions of two-way conversation be measured with this device?

A: This information is not documented. Please contact JK Audio directly to speak to one of their support engineers:JK AudioTel: 800-552-8346Email: info@jkaudio.comWebsite: http://www.jkaudio.com/

[0.975 lb] I use it for calling spot lights in a live concert setting. Aside from not having to use the house head set. This headset is clear, comfortable and durable. Only downside being that is kind of expensive, but in this case you totally get what you've paid for. But gooD luck finding an rts adapter.

[0.975 lb] Product was great. As is B&H sales and service. Did not fit my application but it was not what the clip was designed to do. I'm sure it would be fine for what its made for.

[0.975 lb] This intercom headset is fantastic for long shows (ie. concerts, presentations, etc.). I work as a freelance camera operator, and when running handheld it's very useful to be able to hear intercom in both ears. With the standard headset, you would have to wear an earplug and single muff headset.

[9 VDC Battery] First thing Id like to mention, Ive used this headset for handheld camera operation on tv crews during some conventions and I dont own this headset(in the process of buying 1 for myself). And honestly I have no issues with it, its comfortable, its flexible, very reliable, and definitely wonderful when on camera. Now I do agree with the other review in that its practically not possible to hear anyone talking to you while wearing the headset with both ear buds in.  But that tells me it does its job very well.  I will say that when my grip is trying to talk to me when Im wearing this wonderful headset all I have to do is pop out 1 of the earbuds and problem of not hearing solved very quickly and its easy to put the in ears back in once out and they hold very well.  Now with all that being said, I will say that for me personally this headset works very well, but each person that is using this type of gear has to find what works best for them individually. For those like myself that this headset works great, its a worthy product. for those that its not great for them, another product will be better.  Hope this helps future buyers!

[9 VDC Battery] I'm extremely happy with my point source. The buds that come with it aren't my favorite but you can easily switch them out with Shure 215s without having to rerun the cable through the casing.

[50 Hz to 15 kHz] I purchased this Intercom Headset to use with our system at church. I really like how I could use my custom in ear monitors with this headset and how comfortable it is to wear. On Christmas Eve, I had this on for over 10 hours as I directed two rehearsals and three services. The stage captain, executive producer, and video director all commented on how clear the audio was from the microphone. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this sooner!

[10 oz / 275 g] I work hundreds of TV crews yearly, and I was looking for a headset that could give be a better fit that didn’t squeeze the side of my head like traditional single / double muff headsets.

This headset works great in almost any sporting event (regardless of the loudness of the area around me). At times, I do have to slightly adjust the fit around my ears, but it fits very comfortably.

[50 Hz to 15 kHz] My biggest issue with traditional broadcast headsets were the usability, being the lack of it. By the end of a show, the headsets would barely stay on my head because I was hot and sweaty. This headset is fantastic. I don't have to worry about it falling of. I can run with a steadicam and not have to pick up my headset after the shot. Highly recommend this.
