The blackHIVE LIGHTING Bee 50-C Omni-Color LED Light Blackfrom HIVE LIGHTING Bee 50-C Omni-Color LED Light Blackis a versatile 1.5 lb LED light source that measures just 5" in length and 4" in diameter making it a great choice for tight spaces with minimal support requirements. Although the 50-C can accept PAR reflectors and a Leko attachment, this fixture-only version of the light has a 180-degree beam angle for very wide coverage.

Control is the key word in the construction of the 50-C. Hive uses Perfect S.H.O.T. controls, a propietary term for complete control and adjustment of every aspect of light output. Part of the success of the system is due to the use of 5-LED chip blending. Instead of the traditional three colors, Hive uses red, amber, lime, cyan, and sapphire for nearly infinite color combinations with a high CRI/TLCI rating of 98 and 97. Color can be adjusted from a very warm amber 1650K to an icy blue 8000K. But control doesn't stop there. There's 360-degree hue adjustment around the color wheel, as well as 0 to 100% saturation control. The 50-C can also be dimmed from 0 to 100%. While these adjustments can be made manually, you can also make them remotely via your smartphone or onboard wired or wireless DMX. Thanks to its 100 to 240 VAC power supply, the 50-C is ready for worldwide use; but it will also run on optional 12, 14.4, or 14.8V batteries (60Wh or higher) when mains power is unavailable

The 50-C has 0-100% saturation adjustment, 360° hue control, output control from 0-100%, and color temperature control from 1650 to 8000K for nearly infinite combinations for precise color balance.

The 50-C uses red, amber, lime, cyan and sapphire LEDs instead of the traditional 3 color system to achieve a high CRI/TLCI of 98/97 to render colors faithfully with no output loss or color degradation.

The Bee 50-C uses just 40W to produce light output comparable to a 300W incandescent. Its 5" length and multiple mounting points allow for easy rigging to cameras, drones, practicals, stages, and sets. The 50-C can run off a battery or universal wall power.

The 50-C's functions can be controlled manually (locally) or remotely via your smartphone or DMX.

Q: 9. I read on the Hive website that you need a battery regulator to power off battery, but they don't seem to sell one, so how can you power this from say one 26V V-mount battery?

[40 W ] The light is awesome - built solid and barely heats up at all. IOS app is somewhat better than the Android app at this point, but that may change with updates. Our experience with Hive customer service was amazing. Super quick response and follow through. They set the bar for how customer service should be done! I want to purchase more devices from these guys, just because I know they will be there should I ever have issues. Again, great product, incredible service! 5

[180°] Using to mount ETC Source Four 26 Degree Mini Leko to Hornet 200 C. It is crazy how small this combo is. Super portable, but you do sacrifice output using the mini leko. If you need brighter light, get the full size leko. I own both, and use the right tool depending on the job. Need to travel light? Use the mini leko. Need more output? Use the standard leko. 5

[3.41 lb] All the promises of LED technology manifested. It's bright, color-changing, portable, and doesn't get hot. It's surprisingly small and light for the output -- sans reflector it could almost be carried in a purse. Color rendition seems great, super easy to match to other sources or practicals. The controls (phone app!) make this plain old fun to use. It's quickly become my go-to key. 5

[3.41 lb] The color saturation and range on this unit is superb. I was blown away by the spectrum covered by this unit. In particular the super deep reds and blues where other LED units fall short. The controls are precise and you can dial in about any color imaginable. The IP rating allows use in damp environments which is also a huge plus, not something you will find in many competing lamps or soft lights. I also like the fact that you can use profoto modifiers as necessary. 5

[Yes] I was fortunate enough to use this 200-C Hive sent me to Demo for my latest music video I filmed. I own 2 Wasp 100-c's and love them..I appreciated the increased power output and used it with my soft box/grid for the music video. I love the presets that they come with. I used the club light one for the film. I would highly recommend this more powerful one if you are considering between the wasp 100-c and this one..Hope this helps. 5

[1650 to 8000K] Fits so snug around the c200. which makes me feel like that softbox is never falling off. I do appreciate that the clamp portion rotates around, so I can adjust the position of the light angle if I need to without having to completely rebuild it. 5

[40 W ] I shoot mostly strobe or available light. This light was an addition to my kit so I can do more video work and it's been fantastic. I love that it fits profoto modifiers, it's compact size and output. The app is solid and has some great features to change the color, intensity, saturation and effects of the light. One issue I had is that sometimes an effect will stop/time out and stop while in use. I found that I have to leave my phone on with the app open in order to prevent this. I'll for sure be buying more in the future. 5

[40 W ] This light is the best in the game, period. We have two of these lights that we use for every production, no questions asked. They're small and compact and are a must if you travel often for productions. It's portable and can fit in any pelican alongside the rest of your camera gear. One light with a chimera soft box can serve as the perfect key and/or fill, and the wide range of colors makes it really versatile for any interview environment. Do be aware, it can overheat. We had one that had the o-ring around the LED on the front face melt off in a really humid interview environment. Hive quickly replaced it though, no questions asked. 5
