The HIVE LIGHTING Hornet 200-C PAR LED Lightfrom HIVE LIGHTING Hornet 200-C PAR LED Lightis a versatile 2.6 lb LED light source that measures 9" in length and 4" in diameter, making it a great choice for tight spaces with minimal support requirements. The light has a 22Â° PAR spot reflector that makes it an ideal choice for selective lighting or for long throw work. The beam can be further modified by the included 4-way barndoors.

Control is the key word in the construction of the 200-C. Hive uses what they call Perfect S.H.O.T controls which is an umbrella term for complete control and adjustment of every aspect of light output. Part of the success of the system is due to the use of 7 LED-chip blending. Instead of the traditional 3 colors, Hive uses red, amber, lime, cyan, green, blue, and sapphire for nearly infinite color combinations with a high CRI/TLCI rating of 98 and 97. Color can be adjusted from a very warm amber 1650K to an icy blue 8000K. But control doesn't stop there. There's 360-degree hue adjustment around the color wheel as well as 0 to 100% saturation control. The 200-C can also be dimmed from 0 to 100%. While you can make all these adjustments manually, you can also make them remotely via your smartphone or onboard wired or wireless DMX. Thanks to its 100 to 240 VAC power supply, the 200-C is ready for worldwide use but it will also run on optional, identical 14.4V batteries in series using a HIVE Y-cable adapter, for situations where when mains power is unavailable

The 200-C has 0 to 100% saturation adjustment, 360° hue control, output control from 0 to 100%, and color temperature control from 1650 to 8000K for nearly infinite combinations for precise color balance.

The 200-C uses red, amber, lime, cyan, blue, green, and sapphire LEDs instead of the traditional 3-color system to achieve a high CRI/TLCI of 98/97 to render colors faithfully with no output loss or color degradation.

The 200-C has 128-channel onboard wireless DMX with a range of 500' and Bluetooth with a wireless range of 50'.

A: 150W at 24V is about 6 amps. 150W at 36V is just under 4 amps.

A: This fixture will pretty easily be visible on a dark background at 10'. Bright is a relative thing It depends on if it is for the human eye or for a camera and what those settings are.

Q: 8. Is this comparable with ProFoto heads?

A: The HIVE LIGHTING Photo Zoom Reflector 3-Grid with Barndoors Kit is compatible with many of the Profoto brand strobes. If the strobe has a quartz lamp you might want to not have that on all the time for the heat.

[Fan] This light is crazy flexible -- It's small, easy to mount, compatibility with Profoto accessories is a great idea and the included optics work well. Sometimes not bright enough for a key (200-C for that), but there's always a reason to have it on set! 5

[18 x 12.5 x 12"] Fits so snug around the c200. which makes me feel like that softbox is never falling off. I do appreciate that the clamp portion rotates around, so I can adjust the position of the light angle if I need to without having to completely rebuild it. 5

[18 x 12.5 x 12"] This light is the best in the game, period. We have two of these lights that we use for every production, no questions asked. They're small and compact and are a must if you travel often for productions. It's portable and can fit in any pelican alongside the rest of your camera gear. One light with a chimera soft box can serve as the perfect key and/or fill, and the wide range of colors makes it really versatile for any interview environment. Do be aware, it can overheat. We had one that had the o-ring around the LED on the front face melt off in a really humid interview environment. Hive quickly replaced it though, no questions asked. 5

[10.95 lb] I bought some of these used, and the only thing that seems to wear out on these lights are these things. They are the real deal part, but they take forever to get because they come from the factory, not the shop. Mine took about 3 weeks to get here, but they are nice. 5

[LCD] Using to mount ETC Source Four 26 Degree Mini Leko to Hornet 200 C. It is crazy how small this combo is. Super portable, but you do sacrifice output using the mini leko. If you need brighter light, get the full size leko. I own both, and use the right tool depending on the job. Need to travel light? Use the mini leko. Need more output? Use the standard leko. 5

[150 W ] I shoot mostly strobe or available light. This light was an addition to my kit so I can do more video work and it's been fantastic. I love that it fits profoto modifiers, it's compact size and output. The app is solid and has some great features to change the color, intensity, saturation and effects of the light. One issue I had is that sometimes an effect will stop/time out and stop while in use. I found that I have to leave my phone on with the app open in order to prevent this. I'll for sure be buying more in the future. 5

[1650 to 8000K] The color saturation and range on this unit is superb. I was blown away by the spectrum covered by this unit. In particular the super deep reds and blues where other LED units fall short. The controls are precise and you can dial in about any color imaginable. The IP rating allows use in damp environments which is also a huge plus, not something you will find in many competing lamps or soft lights. I also like the fact that you can use profoto modifiers as necessary. 5
