Build a VENICE studio rig with the SHAPE 15mm Studio Sliding Baseplate for Sony VENICE. The sliding studio bridgeplate conforms to the ARRI standard and has clamps for properly spaced 15mm studio rods for securing a lens support, follow focus, matte box, or other accessory. A pair of 12" rods is included for that purpose. Slide the bridgeplate along the included 12" ARRI-standard dovetail to achieve balance atop a tripod or other grip equipment. For finer adjustment, the riser plate also slides back and forth for camera positioning relative to the bridgeplate. Assembly tools and camera mounting screws are included inside a magnetic tool box that fits beneath the plate.

[8 x 7 x 4"] While the FS5 is a great camera its weak point is the lens mount. Particularly when using either cinema style lenses or larger E mount lenses, this unit is a must. Without it you run the risk of having the weight of the lens cracking the mount off the camera front. The bigger lenses need added support from a rail system to get the stress off the lens mount. Understand that even with the lens properly supported you have to be careful . I never transport the FS5 with a lens attached. I have read of horror stories where owners have done this only to find when they took the camera out of their bags the lens fractured the lens mount off the camera front. And yes, Sony will not fix this damage so you have $5600 of junk on your hands. Buy this unit and properly support the lens to the camera. Small investment to make given the price of the camera body 5

[8 x 7 x 4"] I have Tilta cages for my Panasonic GH5 and S1H. Both require a LWS baseplate for use with 15mm rods. I hoped the LWS baseplate for my GH5 would work with the S1H, but the rods aren't centered under the S1H lens....so, I had to buy a different LWS baseplate for the S1H. It's a fair chunk of change, but the build quality it great and worth the cost. 5

[5 lb] For the money it’s hard to beat. Baseplate is sturdy and rods that come with it are adequate. My main use is for mounting a follow focus and lens support. It’s also relatively light weigh and has minimal bulk so hand hold and run & gun can still be done. 5

[Sony VENICE] I bought this as a low profile option for my gh4 kit, it’s a great baseplate that I’ll probably own till the end of time. Great cheap alternative to some of the more expensive baseplates 5

[8 x 7 x 4"] When Tilta equipment is on sale I make the purchase. I love the way this is engineered and it makes my GH6 modular for fast configurations. It's more expensive that Smallrig, which I also like very much, but I gravitate towards Tilta when the price is right. 5
