The Matthews Mini Matthellini Clamp - Compact Versatile Toolfunctions as a grabber for a flag or a small arm. It can also be used to mount a small light fixture to an existing arm. A: The actual post is about 8 (inches) long. The bottom half of the clamp to the top of the post is 5 long. Within the clamp jaws you could fit a 3 1/4 item. I wouldn't go larger than 3 though. I use it to hold boom poles on C clamps. Works great!

Q: 4. Has anyone used these with the Scrim Jim Cine frame for attaching to a C-Stand or something similar (which is the new iteration of scrim jim)? Any thoughts? Thank you!

A: I use them for this purpose and they work great.

Q: 5. can it be used to lock bottles? for spash shot..

A: These clamps could lock on a bottle when performing a splash shot based on the curvature of the jaws.

Q: 6. Oh for goodness sake, could you please list the maximum opening of this clamp?

A: The Mini Matthellini will open 2".

Q: 7. How longer is the metal rod/stud (I dont know the proper word for it, hope you understand what I mean)?

Q: 8. I have a Matthellini clamp that looks just like this and want to buy a second one. However, the jaw I have is 3 wide. Is this 3 wide or only 2 ? I can't find a 3 version at B&H. Thanks.

A: This clamp is 3 wide. The 2 , I believe, refers to the depth of the clamp - from front to back of the jaw.

Q: 9. What is the max opening of the clamp?

A: When I open mine until it stops the outside edge gap is about 1-3/4 to 1-7/8. The inside measurement where the clamp is the widest is about 2-1/4. For example, if you were to clamp it on a book the thickest book you could clamp would be about 1-3/4 .

Q: 10. Can two of these Matthews Matthellini Clamps be attached together for a parallel double clamp?

[Vise] These clamps along with the other components of the MiniGrip system make positioning reflectors and small LED lights very easy. Found out I needed more than one complete set/ 5

[0.6 lb] This picture is of the mini Matthellini with a 1/4-20 female thread at the end, not the 3/8-16 male threaded end. It gets more confusing because of the part numbers. I ordered the one with the 1/4-20 female end because the ones in the mini grip kit have been so useful. I got what I expected, but it came in a box labeled 3/8-16! I didn't even know this was available. 5

[0.6 lb] This is a tool... albeit an over-priced tool... it's a tool none-the-less. Anyone who's familiar with the video industry knows the Matthellini clamp very well. This is a mini-version (obviously)... but here are some meaningful specs, since Matthews doesn't seem to offer this info. This weighs 7.4 oz, or 210 grams and measures 5 and 5/8 from end to end. The knurled rod you see is 3/8 diameter vs. the normal 5/8 diameter which is standard with normal grip gear. The nice thing about this clamp is that it's 100% metal construction. The mini-grip head is plastic, but this? ALL METAL... (with rubber grip padding in the jaws)... so... it's nice, and seems to be very strong. You can even spin the lock up and down with a flick... to open and close the jaw, just like a standard sized Matthellini. I expect this to come in the most handy with small rigging, like you'd do with a GoPro or an LED light... or holding a photography boom... i.e. lower loads than a regular clamp. 5

[Black] I've been using the cardellini clamps for years, but these Mathellini clamps are of very good quality and were 20% less expensive than the name brand. Right now, they're holding up some little Arri Photolights in the university A/V Room and working like a champ. 5
