Q: 1. Can this be used with Sony LMD-2110W 21.5 Professional LCD Monitor. Thanks

A: The thing to check is the weight of the monitor. PIck the model that covers the range of weight your monitor fits in. The arm has adjustable spring tension so you can fine tune the tension to your monitor's exact weight. I have this arm supporting a 32 monitor in my studio. Once adjusted it works great, I can pull it out, raise, tilt, etc., with a finger or 2.

Q: 2. Is the laptop bracket an additional accessory or does it come with the unit? I am interested in using this one or the 2 arm so I can have my desktop monitor on one and my laptop mounted on the other to clear my desk space.

A: The laptop tray is an additional accessory.

Q: 3. Will this fit a Dell OptiPlex 7440 & what is the maximum height?

A: I also got the maximum height of the arm at the mounting point to be 23 as well. I have a Dell U2515H with their pocket style attachment which has VESA mounting hole patterns for 100mm and 75mm arms which the Ergotron has. I looked up the OptiPlex and it has the same pocket style stand as mine does and should have the VESA attachment although they didn't specify it. I would use the 100mm pattern and the Ergotron screws as they are a heavier duty screw.

Q: 4. What is the minimum space between the wall and edge of the desk (desk can not be moved) I need to mount the clamp?

A: The desk clamp is about a 5' square.

Q: 5. My desk is about 1 mm too wide for the C-Clamp at its widest. I can't drill a hole to use the grommet alternative. Are there any alternatives for something to mount the arm on of this particular product?

A: The maximum on the clamp is 2.4", which is significantly wide. The only thing that may be possible is to remove and/ or replace the plate, while still maintaining integrity and safety and protection of desk underside.

Q: 6. What's the difference between this Ergotron LX HD vs. non HD version?

A: The HD mount supports a larger display, up to 46" as opposed to 34". It supports a larger VESA pattern, up to 200 x 200mm as opposed to 100 x 100mm. Also it supports displays weighing up to 30 lbs. as compared to 25 lbs.

Q: 7. How much space (height) is necessary under the desk? I have a cable manangement tray in the backside of my desk and I wonder if this may interfere with the bracked.

A: As others said, the height is around 4".

Q: 8. Will this work with a Mac 27 Cinema monitor? If you don't have a Mac monitor, please don't speculate.

A: It will work, but be very careful when buying the Vesa Mount. the screws are very cheap and will break. its kinda sad, but make sure apple is responsible if your monitor fails at all, the screws are very cheap. Good Luck, it will owrk, but make sure you get better screws or trust apples screws that come with the Vesa Mount

Q: 9. Please explain the note 9 inch extension available ??

A: This means you can get a further 9 extension if you add the following arm.

Q: 10. What is the required depth (overhang) for the desk clamp? Not the thickness.

A: This is not a published specification. Looks to be about 2 inches.

[6.7 oz / 190 g] I installed a 34 inch Samsung S34J55x on this arm and it works perfectly. The monitor weighs about 15 lbs. The arm allows me to position the monitor so that the viewing distance is about 18 inches. The arm extends the monitor about 22 inches from its base. This is my second successful Ergotron install. Several years ago I installed two 24 inch monitors on an Ergotron dual monitor arm. The results were excellent which led to my purchase of the LX model. 5

[6.7 oz / 190 g] Seems very sturdy. Love the extra desk space that an arm provides. Comes with hardware to clamp it or put it through a grommet hole. Had to watch the video a couple of times to get it adjusted, but was reasonably easy to install. Has a clean look. I do miss a feature on a previous arm that lets me take the monitor off the arm while it's on the desk without any tools, but this one holds a larger monitor so maybe it's impractical. 5

[0.39 lb] This is perfect if you want to use a monitor with a racing simulator setup (as in a chair setup you wheel over to your desk), but also wish to use it at your desk like a normal display. The reach and steadiness of the arm is beyond reproach: even perched at an extreme angle with a DD wheel setup vibrating nonstop, this holds steady. 5

[6.7 oz / 190 g] I wanted a monitor support to replace the stand that came with my monitor which just took up too much desk space. I have used the Ergotron monitor arms in a factory setting and they held up perfectly. So this was my first choice for home. I know they are strong and will not sag over time. The adjustability is excellent and assembly is easy. Best monitor support out there. 5

[0.39 lb] Works very well. I was concerned it might not work on my glass and steel desk but the clamp is very adjustable and fits just fine. As much as anything I appreciate that the tension is well calibrated so as I move the monitor it stays exactly where I put it which is helpful when side-by-side with another monitor. I do plan to buy a second one soon. 5
