Sigma High-Speed Prime Lens Kit E Mountcombine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 85mm Sony E-Mount prime is a longer focal length in the series, offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6-8K resolution, and a T1.5 aperture in a compact, lightweight form; it is also available in Canon EF and PL mounts. Electronic contacts in the mount provide lens data communication between the lens and the camera. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Primes also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 module gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability. Focus marks are in meters with select marks in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light.

To relieve stress on your camera's lens mount, a support foot is built into the dust- and water-resistant metal lens body. If you wish to fit your FF High-Speed Prime lens to a different camera, the Canon EF and Sony E mount versions can be converted from one to the other by an authorized Sigma service center (not available for PL mounts).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a Cooke/I dataport as well like on Zeiss XD or Cooke lenses? Or is the /I data just transferred via the mount

A: this lens supports standard cooke i Technology through the lens mount, there is no extended data or expanded I support

Q: 2. Does the Sigma ART line of smaller (photography sized) lenses feature the same optical performance as these?

A: When it comes to lenses the quality of the lens can be subjective, but I would say the look/operation of the Sigma 50mm T1.5 Fully Luminous FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount, Feet) would general be considered superior to the Sigma ART series.

Q: 3. Does this set come with a case?

A: No, the Sigma T1.5 Cine FF High-Speed Art Prime 5-Lens Set does not come with a case.

Q: 4. filter thread in specs states 'none' does this mean the lens is NOT treaded for a filter?

A: Some of these lenses in this kit will have a filter thread size and others will not. Like the 14mm & 20mm lens does not have a filter thread because the glass sticks out a bit due to it being a large wide angle lens. You will have to use a matte box and a filter with at particular lens. However, the other lens sizes like the 50mm lens will have a filter thread size of 82mm. The lenses will not all have the same filter thread size.

Q: 5. The sigma prime are avaible immediately ?

A: This kit itself is a Special Order Product that comes from Sigma directly. However we have the 5 lenses in the kit in stock and ready to ship at the time of this posting, April 22nd 2018. Here are the B&H numbers for the 5 lenses:B&H # SI20T15FFPLB&H # SI24T15FFPLB&H # SI35T15FFPLB&H # SI50T15FFPLB&H # SI85T15FFPL

Q: 6. Does this come with a case?

A: Yes it does. The Sigma PMC-002 Hard Case for 5x FF High Speed Prime Cine Lenses is included with this kit.

Q: 7. What are the exact interior and exterior dimensions of this case?

A: The listed dimensions of this case are: Interior: 22 x 17 x 8 Exterior: 24 x 19.5 x 12.2

Q: 8. What lens mount is this set?

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. This is a PL mount set.

Q: 9. Does the Sigma /i lenses have a port for Cooke /I or is that information only exchanged over the mount?

A: The information is communicated over the mount, electronically.

Q: 10. When shooting in the set, have you ever thought that you wish the focus of these lenses had a 300-degree rotation instead of 180? Would you mind describing the situation?

A: Large focus throws are imperative when working with significantly shallow depth of field.

[85mm] The Sigma 50mm T1.5 is simply a wonderful lens for me, I use it on every shoot. It works perfect for high-end commercials but is also wonderful for doc shooting since it has a shorter pull than it's competition.

It has an 82mm thread on the front allowing early filter additions when using teleprompter and a mattebox can't be arranged.

The Glow in the dark paint for the markings was really useful when it came to shooting an independent film in limited lighting.

I would recommend a set of Sigma Cine Lenses to anyone who needs to be versatile but is sick of the poor performance of stills glass.

[86 mm] This 85mm is a new addition to my Sigma lens set. I already use the 20, 24, 35 and 50, and they are all simply fantastic. First off, these lenses are FAST! 20mm T1.5??? Whaaat? That's madness. Next, they are all incredibly sharp wide open. No need to stop down to get a nice, crisp image. And with the sharpness, comes a beautiful creamy bokeh and great texture and colors. Add to that a (relatively) small size for a cine lens, a nice focus throw/rotation for super accurate focus, beautiful build quality and 8K ready, and you have an excellent tool for many years to come.

[85mm] Pleasantly surprised by this lens. Used to own Zeiss CP.2, and have rented the CP.2 Super Speed 50mm many times, as well as the Canon CN-E lenses. In terms of sharpness, this Sigma easily beats all three of those. In some ways, this is to be expected because those are older lenses, and were designed before 4K was a ubiquitous resolution. If you're still shooting/delivering in HD, then it may not matter. These days, the differences are noticeable in 4k, especially shooting wider than T4. This lens is an amazing value and punches well above her weight. Sharp enough to resolve tack-sharp in 4k, and they claim it's sharp enough for 8k. I won't comment much on color/contrast rendition and character because it's so subjective, but to me it produces a very straightforward and grade-able look and doesn't seem to color the footage much. Also haven't tested/can't comment on lens flare characteristics. Favorite features: -Hardly any chromatic aberration wide open, which is where the other lenses in this range typically fall apart wider than T4. Still very sharp at T2. -Offered in E-Mount with is great for my FS7. -Build quality is as good as one would hope for a lens in this range. -No focus breathing!
