The Haida 62mm Slim Pro II UV Filter for Camerasis a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, the glass features 10 layers of multi-coating. These coatings also offer greater protection to a filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

Haida Slim Pro II UV filters are constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. A thin, aluminum-alloy filter ring minimizes the potential for vignetting, while remaining durable and lightweight.

This UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Q: 1. Hi, does this filter take away from the IQ quality, or loss of light, degradation of image QDo I have take it off indoors, or when lighting is lowI need it just to protect the lensis there any downside using the lens filterscan you recommend me better lens filter doesn't loss of image Q Will this Filter work on canon17-55 f2.8mm lensthanks

A: B+W brand of filters happen to be of the highest quality filter manufacturers you could select to put on your lenses. This filter is a multi-coated filter which means the it has been treated with special optical coatings to improve light transmission, color accuracy and contrast. When using multi-coated filters like this there is not any loss/degradation of image quality. This filter will compliment the best lenses you could mount them on and will offer protection in any situation. There is no need to remove them when shooting indoors or in poor lighting as they do not decrease the light transmission (rather they help maintain the transmission as mentioned prior). This filter is the proper size for the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens and is one I commonly recommend for use with it.

Q: 2. Is it compatible with the fujifilm x30?

A: The FUJIFILM X-T30 will work with any circular polarizer. The issue is filter size for the lens you are using. The typical lens for the camera is the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens and that takes a 58mm filter. Here is a good one for that lens. Hoya 58mm alpha Circular Polarizer Filter B&H # HOCPA58.

Q: 3. Can I screw a polarizing filter on top of this one? Thanks!

A: As the B+W 62mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter has 62mm front filter threads (as listed under the Specifications tab), you may use a polarizer filter with 62mm filter threads on top of this filter.

Q: 4. Did this fit Nikon 200-500

A: The Nikon 200-500mm lens takes a 95mm filter, so the Chiaro Pro 95mm 98-UVAT UV Filter is compatible.

Q: 5. Is there a front thread to attach additional accessories?

A: The 67mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter does have a 67mm front filter thread.

Q: 6. When I use this filter on Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens can I install, remove and reverse Canon hood without removing the filter?I had Nano filter on 18-55 mm lens, and I had to remover the Nano filter each time I wanted to remove the hood or reverse the hood. Filter's edge was made thicker in order to compensate the thinness of the lens casing.

A: i used 3 nano filters of various dimensions. None of them interfered with the hood of the lens. i am using 67mm for my 35 F2 IS and for 100mm macro L. i am not having any issues with respect to hood installation.

Q: 7. will this fit and work with the Leica Type 109 with self closing lens cap?

A: I've seen one person over on dpreview report being able to use a thin ring filter with the 109's twin sister, the LX-100 when using the auto cap. Panasonic says filters cannot be used with it. Quite a few have reported it causes the lens to jam as it retracts when powered off. I've read of at least one person saying it caused damage to the zoom, so I wouldn't try it. The auto cover is kind of gimmicky anyway. Many who have it say it still lets in some dust and debris though the slits. I've had multiple cameras for forty years and never lost a removable cap. If that's a concern, buy an extra one. I don't use those retaining strings either. Invariably, it will dangle in front of the lens on that once in a lifetime shot! As for the filter, no complaints whatsoever. Like all the German filters I've used, they're worth every penny. It fits my LX-100 and there are no problems using it with the standard cap when powering off. However, I always power off first, then put the cap on, which you can't do with the auto cap, because that defeats its purpose.

Q: 8. Would the lens cap of the Sony RX10 mark 3 fit when using this filter?

A: There seems to be a mix up here with cameras. I do not own the Sony RX10. I have the Sony RX100 IV. Perhaps another Sony RX10 owner will come forward to answer your question.

Q: 9. I am new to cameras, lenses, and filters. Is this compatible with the Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens? What should I be looking for to make sure it's compatible? Thank you so much.

A: Being that the Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens uses a 49mm filter, the Chiaro Pro 49mm 98-UVAT UV Filter is compatible.

Q: 10. This lists the filter as a 010M, but the photo f the filters shows 010. What is the difference?

A: 010M and 010 MRC Nano is the same thing. M stands for multi coating. The filter ring spells it out, instead of having the M after 010. No difference, means the same thing.

[62 mm] received this filter in good condition and fits my old Fuji X10 --- loving it and --- even --- IF it is not exactly that slim (as my old one is slimmer, can't remember the brand, purchased it years back in a local singapore shop) --- i strongly recommend this filter!

Thank you B&H!

[62 mm] Not too expensive, good fit. Good for shooting video at the sun early morning/late afternoon without having to stop down too much.

[62 mm] I have used many 10 stop ND's in the past and settled on a B&W but was never really thrilled with it. There was always something about the images that bugged me. I decided to test it , alone and then in front of a polarizer , each time I noticed a pretty noticeable drop in sharpness, especially fine detail smearing. Considering the cost of it this shouldn't be happening.
So I searched for a new one and found an intense review of 10 stop ND's and the Haida Nanopro MC ND 10 stop was part of it. It came out on top along side one other, but with the price of this filter it was a no brainer to buy and test out. I ordered it from B&H and tested it right away. Straight Image, Image with the ND, and Image with both the ND and a Nikon Circular polarizer behind the ND. NO difference in sharpness, ZERO. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the 3 , even at 100% zoom and beyond.
I tested it on Modern AI lenses, and Vintage Nikkor S and H lenses with single coatings all tested with the same result. No color cast either.
I went out with the Haida ND and the Nikon Polarizer and shot outside, long exposure with foliage and water. Same result. Sharp sharp sharp. All on a D810 in Bulb/Mirror up.
Haida has just won a customer for life.

[Multi Coated] There are many better filters than this filter I use: K&F Concept Green Multi-Coated Schott B270 German Optics Slim UV Filter (77mm).
However, for those of us who are hobbyists and not professionals, this filter is sufficient and excellent.
It's cheap, but it works well as a UV filter.
As someone who is not good at evaluating professional details, I would like to give this UV filter an excellent score.
