The DPA d:facto 4018V Supercardioid Mic with SL1 Adapterfrom DPA d:facto 4018V Supercardioid Mic with SL1 Adapterfeatures an isolation-optimized polar pattern and is designed to augment the human vocal range. It can be used to capture speech and vocals in sound reinforcement applications such as for stage, recordings, and more.

The capsule provides an applicable opening angle around the center axis comparable to a cardioid, which means that a pleasant tolerance around the center axis is obtained for the singer. In addition, the rear rejection is higher than other supercardioids, and the rear lobe opening is extremely uniform and controlled.

You can combine the d:facto MMC4018V Supercardioid Microphone Capsule with any of the d:facto adapters for wireless systems or the d:facto handle for wired use (sold separately).

A: Any microphone with the Microdot connector is expecting a DC bias level to bias the electret capsule. Normally the microdot connector of a bodypack will have approx 5 V DC bias. This DPA adapter is not just a simple resistive divider - it has a complete circuit board with biasing circuit and buffer amplifier to drive long mic cables. I measured 8 V open-circuit, and 2.5 V with my DPA 4066 headset connected. This leads me to believe that the final DC voltage level will depend on the bias current drawn by the specific brand/model of electret mic you connect to it (but it will never exceed 8 V). So, although I have not tested the particular models you mentioned, I believe that any microphone with a microdot connector can be used with this adapter without risk of damage. This is certainly a very nicely-made adapter with no expense spared on the circuit from what I can see.

[0.12 lb] Using for events and weddings interviews.After intensive testing and using on job I can say it is very good quality recording in noise environment. You can record peoples without noise background. Lowe price should not misguide you. 5

[0.12 lb] The Beta 87A plays well with live spoken and sung voice when a sound system is in use, and sounds good for recording too. My only criticism is that the optional foam windscreen lets too many pops through--but there are other choices for that which will work better. This is a high quality mic, with an extended, clear top end, good overall balance, low noise floor and plenty of headroom for loud sound sources. And it is very reasonably priced--a real bargain. 5

[0.12 lb] Outstanding clarity on vocals. Fantastic resistance to proximity effect. Need to mic an acoustic? Slap it right up there and go. This mic is great for male and female vocals, along with various sundry uses as well. If you need to upgrade your SM series mic to something better, this is your choice. This is my GO TO vocal mic. 5

[Typ. 26 dB] I am using this for speech in HAM radio transmissions. My shack' is hard-surfaced and I got reports about a tin-can sound. I went with the e845 because of the 'popular price' and supercardioid polar pattern useful to reduce this effect. It worked! Of course mic-to-mouth positioning becomes more important. The net result for me is that I am getting many favorable 'signal reports' from HAMs I speak with. Several have asked about the mic and have ordered one for themselves. BTW, this replaced a Shure SM7B, and the e845 has worked better for my application. Less EQ is needed to get a balanced sound for my voice (actually, no EQ at all is working). Specifically the e845 is plugged into a Kenwood TS-590SG HF transceiver. Very happy with the e845. 5
