With dual, independent switches providing options for holds and a powerful 700-lumen maximum output, the Streamlight Strion DS HPL Rechargeable LED Flashlightis a versatile tool for law enforcement, professional, recreational, and home use. Its C4 LED delivers brightness levels of 40, 300, and 700 lumens, with runtimes of 20, 3.3, and 1.3 hours, respectively, on a full charge. Push-button switches on the head and tailcap control power on a momentary- or constant-on basis, and the strobe setting can disorient an attacker or signal for help. Streamlight's TEN-TAP programming lets you choose from three modes to suit your needs—high/medium/low with strobe, high only, or high/medium/low.

The housing is made of lightweight and durable 6000 series machined aluminum with an impact-resistance rating of 6.6', an IPX4 water-resistance rating, and a lens of scratch- and impact-resistant polycarbonate. The light comes with a 120/100 VAC / 12 VDC wall-mountable charger bracket.

[1x LED] I bought this as a hiking headlamp and just tried it out hiking 3.5 miles down a mountain in the dark. For that purpose, I find it perfect. The throw has a decently wide periphery to show everything on the trail, but a nice concentrated point towards the center in order to illuminate the distance. The low setting is bright enough for me and I can see the trail including trail markers easily up to about 50-60 yards away. The brightest setting is awesome if you want to light up the woods like a car headlamp on high beam, but otherwise unnecessary for my purposes. The ability to charge the battery while it is in the headlamp is very convenient for topping the battery off before use. This metal-bodied headlamp is much heavier than others that I own which are all made of plastic, but I have a big head to begin with and did not notice any discomfort; all other headlamps I own are now going into back-up status. Also, I would not recommend this headlamp for close-up work as the concentration of light in the center of the throw is very bright even on the low setting, unless you want to use the included red filter. Overall, this is the 4th product by Streamlight that I have purchased (the others being various flashlight models) and this brand has become my favorite by far for illuminating my nighttime outdoor activities in the deeply rural area where I live. The products have a rugged high-quality feel with solid metal bodies, glass lenses and well thought-out functional designs. 5

[2200 mAh ] It is a simple accessory, but due to its shape it is very easy to transport. I always carry it with me in my photo backpack, which helps me to power in low light conditions, in addition to helping me take creative photographs with low shutter speeds. I recommend it. 5
