The brown DPA 4166 Slim Omni Flex Headset Mic, 110mm Boom, Brownfrom DPA 4166 Slim Omni Flex Headset Mic, 110mm Boom, Browncombines the sound of the 4066 omnidirectional capsule and Core amplifier in a lightweight and flexible two-ear headset. It can be used when miking needs to be fast, easy, and where the person wearing the microphone won't feel the presence of it such as in conference, speech, and active live performance applications.

The Core 4166 gets a 14 dB increase in dynamic range than the Legacy version and is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably. It easily adjusts to fit any ear size and head shape while at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. In addition, the connector splits the cable from the microphone boom allowing you to swap broken cables and/or wireless connectors quickly. Finally, it includes three windscreens, a clothing clip, ID rings, and a cover.

A: Yes the boom can be removed from the stand.

Q: 2. Will this work with Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone?

A: The Rode VideoMicro does not have stand mounting capability. To mount on a stand would require a female shoe adapter and 1/4 to 5/8 thread adapter to mount on a mic stand.

Q: 3. Can I swap out the XLR cable for one of better quality or is it fixed?

A: Yes, the internal XLR cable in the Gator Deluxe Frameworks Desktop Mic Boom Stand can be replaced. You will need to remove one of the connecters in order to remove the original cable, then you can snake the new cable through the boom without the connector attached. You will then need to attach the connector to the end of the new cable.

Q: 4. What is the maximum reach for this boom?

A: The Gator Frameworks Slim-Profile Desktop Microphone Boom Arm has a maximum reach of 32.75" / 83.19 cm.

Q: 5. This has two 3.5mm TRS plugs. What Y Cable do you recommend to convert this to (a) a 3.5mm TRRS socket on my laptop, and to a 2.5mm TRRS socket on my phone?

A: For use with a TRRS jack on a laptop you can use the B&H # STMUYHSMFF. Currently we do not have any adapter that would take the TRRS into a 2.5mm jack at this time.

Q: 6. Trying to find exact arm length and if it's possibly to partially take it apart to shorten the arms.

A: The Gator Frameworks Slim-Profile Desktop Microphone Boom Arm is 32.75" (83.19 cm) long. It is not designed to be taken apart or shortened. If you want a shorter arm, we have the Samson MBA28 Microphone Boom Arm (B&H # SAMBA28), which is 28" (71.12 cm) long and supports up to 5 lbs.

Q: 7. Will this also work for Shure TL 48?

A: The Bubblebee Industries Lav Concealer For DPA 4071 will not also work with the Shure TwinPlex TL48 Lavalier. The microphones have similar form factors but are not identical. There is not a Bubblebee concealier made for the TL48 at this time.

Q: 8. How wide is the rectangular mount? Top to bottom when looking at it horizontally! Looking to purchase for a different Z stand...

A: Thank you for your email. At this time the manufacturer has not made that specification available as it is meant to be mounted to either side of any QuikLok Z stand except for the Z-722 or Z-722L

Q: 9. Does B&H sell replacement threaded nobs for this - specifically the ones that lock the boom extension segments?

A: At this time, B&H does not sell those specific replacement knobs. While you could attempt to reach out to the manufacturer about replacements, it may be easier to look for a replacement stand. Here's a suggestion, BH #AUMS5230T.

Q: 10. Is there any quality advantage to this mic stand over the ones that are $10-$15 cheaper?

A: The main feature this stand has over less expensive models is a Euro-style clutch for single-handed angle adjustments.

[5 to 50 V] i am a semi-retired, professional sports camera operator, out of the boston/hartford market. i have done over 2000 shows of varying levels. little league, to the world series and stanley cup. i was at low third for 20 years at fenway, and right handheld at the bruins for the same. i quit the bruins about 5 years ago, when i could no longer stand the noise level (PA generated) at TD Garden. and it's not just there. small arenas like Quinnipiac, Holy Cross, etc. seem to think loud equals exciting, thus, louder equals more exciting. one day at providence college, the truck happened to have these heads sets. i loved them immediately, as the noise cancelling was fantastic. they sound good too. both to me, and to others when i speak. i asked a techno-geek where i could get a pair. he sent me a link. my husband saw the link, and got me them for christmas. 2 shows in...maybe I'll unretire 5
