This 17" monitor is designed for use in broadcast applications and video production studios. Should a DP be looking at this monitor for color accuracy. Do these monitors come calibrated? Is it this still the case that they only display Slog 2& 3 Lut's? Or can they display other Lut's now?

A: The Sony LMD-A170 17" LCD Production Monitor is for on set monitoring, it complies to the BT.709/BT.2020/BT.2100 color spaces, we do not know about the level of DCI-P3 color compliance. Monitors come pre-calibrated but it never hurts to calibrate again before use to ensure the best results. The Sony LMD-A170 17" LCD Production Monitor only has a SLog-2 to Rec. 709 conversion LUT.

A: the manufacturer does not specify the brightness of this screen. it is not a high bright teleprompter so the brightness would most likely be a standards brightness of 200-250 nits

[133 ppi] We are delighted with this display. It is being used with a longarm sewing machine where the touch screen is quite helpful. The larger size is good for see what is on the screen from the far side of a 12' table. 5

[133 ppi] We purchased 3 of these from B&H for an industrial control system where we needed large 1080P touch monitors. B&H had the best prices and very fast shipping. We have not purchased much from B&H before but will be shopping them first for future tech gear. 5

[TFT LCD] Hello, I purchased my monitor as I’m using it for a mixer that is multitouch friendly it works really well with the unit (SoundCraft UI24R) direct HDMI and usb & I was ready to go. It is a perfect match for this mixer, if it’s racked in an “SKB Studio Flyer” rolling case! This Planar Monitor model is able to be locked down and travel w/as one, (a whole Mixer w/ multitouch monitor). 5

[Yes] We use this monitor for our show producers to see a multiview feed of all of our switcher sources so that they can verify things during live shows. We were using cheap TVs and mini convertors, but those kept flaking out. This monitor has native HD-SDI, so the signal is solid and the picture is a clear step up from the older TVs The screen is pretty glossy though. Which is probably why they look so much crisper and higher contrast. Includes a basic remote and can be operated from buttons under the right edge of the bezel too. 5
