The black d:fine Core 4188 Slim Directional Flex Headset Mic with 100mm Boom and MicroDot Connector from DPA Microphones d:fine Core 4188 Flex Headset Mic Blackcombines the sound of the d:fine 4088 directional capsule and Core amplifier in a lightweight and flexible two-ear headset that offers accurate, highly intelligible speech and plenty of headroom for loud vocals. The microphone's electret-condenser capsule provides a crisp, natural sound while its cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture on the wearer, picking up less background sound and helping to control feedback issues on loud stages where sound reinforcement gear is used.

The flexible design is quickly and easily taken on and off and provides a fit so light and comfortable that presenters and performers will barely notice it during conference, speech, and active live performance applications. The headset is ergonomically engineered to easily adjust and fit any ear size and head shape, while, at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. In addition, the connector splits the cable from the microphone boom allowing you to swap out broken cables and/or microphone booms easily. The 4188 includes a makeup cover, foam windscreen, and a pop screen.

Q: 1. I lost my foam windscreen for this mic, any recommendation for replacements?

A: Please review the following item. Auray WSF-2029 Foam Windscreen for Shotgun Microphones - (29cm) BH #AUWSF2029 • MFR #WSF-2029 https://bhpho.to/3GGDIgJ

Q: 2. what is the clip that the man in video used to hold the mic onto his cloth?

A: In the video, the DPA Microphones 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone is attached to a boompole at first, and then it looks like he had clipped the mic and mini boom to his clothing using a clip like the DPA Microphones CM4099 - Clamp Mount for 4099 Instrument Microphone (B&H # DPCM4099).

Q: 3. Any meaningful differences of the Diety S-Mic 2 and the Rode NTG-1 shotguns for crowd miking?

A: The S-Mic 2 may be a better choice because it has a slightly wider pickup range which is better to capture audio from multiple people than a mic with a very narrow pickup range, which is better for picking up one person. The S-Mic 2 is easy to use because it has no onboard switches or controls to adjust and it is also moisture resistant. Its frequency response range is 50 Hz to 20 kHz, it handles loud sounds up to 130 dB SPL, and has very low noise. The NTG1 has a frequency response range or 20 Hz to 20 kHz and handles loud sounds up to 138 dB SPL, and also has low noise. It also has an onboard low-cut filter which is useful to reduce low rumbling background noise. Both the S-Mic 2 and NTG1 are very good mics, but for miking a crowd, the S-Mic 2 may be the better option since it has a wider pickup range and not as focused as the NTG1. The noise level rating for the S-Mic 2 is slightly lower than the NTG1 (12 dBA vs 18 dBA). The moisture resistance is also a good feature for outdoor use.

Q: 4. Will this headset mount work the Rode Lavalier II mics that come with the Rode Wireless Pro?

A: The RODE LAVHS-MED Headset Mount for Lavalier Microphones is designed specifically for the Rode Lavalier and SmartLav+ microphones. The Rode Lavalier II is a different shape, and it may fit, but compatibility is not guaranteed and some ingenuity may be required.

Q: 5. Can this mic be rigged on-camera?

A: Any shotgun can be rigged on camera: Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1) You will need XLR input with phantom poer. If your camera only sports a mini input, you will need some sort of an XLR adapter device such as a beachtek adapter "with phantom power) to allow the use of this mic. 2) If this is going onto a smaller form factor camera and especially if you are using a wider angle lens, this mic may be in the frame, so this may not be your best choice then and you may want to opt for a shorter microphone. 3) Shotgun mics are very sensitive to handling noise, so make sure you get a shockmount to go with this mic in order to minimize handling noise.

Q: 6. Would this windscreen be compatible with the 4018b?

A: This should fit the capsule portion of the DPA 4018.

Q: 7. Can you use the lavalier mode and connect it to an iPhone so you can use a lavalier to record audio on the iPhone?

A: Yes, the Tula Mic by Tula Microphones can be used in LAV mode with a separate lavalier microphone to record audio on an iPhone.

Q: 8. Can you flip one of the screws so that one screws "up" and the other screws "down" or are they both locked in that position?

A: Yes, the threaded bushings on the bottom of the Gator Frameworks Mic Mount Bar can be removed with a flathead screwdriver so you can position the screws as needed.

Q: 9. Can work with rode wireless pro?

A: No, the DPA 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Interview Kit is not compatible with the Rode Wireless Pro natively as the mic has a Microdot connector. You will need to use an adapter like B&H # TEMA01.

Q: 10. I have a Rodelink wireless lab system. Is this the correct cable to replace the included cable with the Rodelink? I seem to have damaged mine and it is out of the warranty period.

A: I have the rode filmmaker kit with lapel and used this to successfully replace the original.
