The beige DPA 4288 Directional Flex Earset Mic with MicroDotfrom DPA 4288 Directional Flex Earset Mic with MicroDotcombines the sound of the 4088 directional capsule and Core amplifier in a lightweight and flexible one-ear earset. It can be used when miking needs to be fast and easy, and where the person wearing the microphone will barely feel the presence of it; such as in conference, speech, and active live performance applications.

The cardioid polar-patterned Core 4288 offers a 4 dB increase in dynamic range and a 14 dB decrease in THD (total harmonic distortion) over the Legacy version and is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably. It easily adjusts to fit any ear size and head shape, while at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. In addition, the connector splits the cable from the microphone boom allowing you to swap broken cables and/or transmitter connectors quickly. Finally, it includes a makeup cover, four windscreens, and a pop screen.

Q: 1. I purchased this when I had an iPhone 6. But now I have the iPhone 8. Is there a way to clip it to the 8?

A: Cant help you on this one. I use it with my Samsumg S6, with excellent results.....

Q: 2. Several people have asked the question about using on a dslr. I would love to use this on a dslr because it has a headphone monitor and line out. My dslr doesn't have a headphone out. This device would almost solve the audio monitoring issue that most cheap dslr's have( no headphone jack out). I know that it wouldn't be the gain controlled audio from the camera but just the raw audio coming from the mic but it is better than nothing. So, It seems like this mic would work just fine for dslr, but I wanted to be 100% sure if the jack on the mic that is TRRS(the kind with the extra ring in the connector, not just a regular TRS jack) would work with a dslr camera? Does the mic need the extra ring for power?

A: Hi, you won't be able to plug this mic (with TRRS connection) into a DSLR (with TRS input). You could use the SC3 adaptor, but you will have nowhere to mount the mic to the camera. It really has only been designed for smartphones, not DSLR cameras.

Q: 3. how do you attache to an iphone 7 plus?

A: The plug goes into the headphone jack and the little plastic clip secures to the edge of the phone.

Q: 4. I use a lens for my smartphone that covers the external microphone and muffles the audio, will the microphone cancel that microphone out and record the audio itself?

A: I have no problem with this mic on my Iphone7s. It gives great sound quality. Much better than your phonemic. you might want to try the moments' lens and cover for your phone. also, go to there website at it is great info on iPhone filming. They have a Youtube channel as well at shopmoment

Q: 5. Would the microphone work with an iPhone X?

A: Hello Melissa, You would want the VideoMic Me-L. Which would have the Lightening port input that you would need for the iPhone X.

Q: 6. Will the mic work with a Google Pixel phone(android OS)?

A: Yes, this will be compatible with the Google Pixel.

Q: 7. I understand the VideoMic Me is designed for devices where the camera is on the opposite side from the audio input jack. I have a Galaxy S5 (which has them on the same side) - would it be possible to make it work if (hypothetically) I could find a short TRRS extension cable?

A: By using a cable you will still be feeding audio into your smartphone but keep in mind the TRRS jack on the VideoMic Me is also the physical connection point that holds the mic onto the phone.

Q: 8. Will it work with Motorola G2?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. I just bought a Letv Le1 pro x800, it's the second phone of the company. It works on EUI, an operative system whose base is Android. Does anyone see any reasons why the mic wouldn't be working on this phone??

A: Unfortunately without testing the units we would be unable to confirm, however from specs available, the unit features a TRRS jack for headphone/mic and should work properly.

Q: 10. Will this also work on DSLRs?

A: No, it will not. The design of the friction mount included with the Rode VideoMic Me Directional Mic for Smartphones, B&H # ROVMME, makes it virtually impossible to connect to the microphone input terminal on a DSLR camera or mirrorless digital camera which normally is on the side of the camera. There are small options from Rode designed for camera usage with a different terminal connection, such as either the relatively small Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone, B&H # ROVIDEOMICRO, or the slightly larger Rode VideoMic GO Lightweight On-Camera Microphone, B&H # ROVMG, all currently similarly priced (as of the date/time of this reply).

[Cardioid] This is a very high quality adapter if you need to use 3 pin XLR connection. Just other DPA products, this one is a winner.

[5 to 50 V] DPA makes The Best Lavalier mics so naturally this is a great strong and very thin cable if you need long runs, especially for sound effects recordings. The quality is Exceptional!

[5 to 50 V] Expensive for this small thing, but it's worth it. I've tried knock offs and they just don't hold up.

One thing to watch out for is the little clip thing on the end. It can be easily broken if dropped. Once it's broke, it will not stay hooking into a receiver and can be pulled out easily.
