Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Uh1 card

A: The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera with 14-42mm EZ Lens (Silver) has a single card slot compatible with UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC cards.

Q: 2. Why doesn't the light change a little bit when I change the aperture so that the f_value changes in Mode A?

A: If you are shooting ambient lighting and you set the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera with 14-42mm Lens and Accessory Kit (Silver) [A] Aperture Mode, you set the lens' aperture setting (and your chosen ISO setting) while the camera sets the shutter speed. The point of the semi-automatic modes (Shutter-Priority and Aperture-Priority) is you select one setting while the camera's light meter selects the other setting while attempting to maintain a proper exposure. As such, adjusting the aperture will only affect your depth-of-field when shooting with ambient lighting. You change your aperture, and the camera changes the shutter speed to keep the same exposure (light level). If you want the exposure to change when changing your aperture, you should be shooting on [M] Manual Mode. In Manual Mode, if you adjust the aperture and nothing else, if the aperture is opened, the exposure will be brighter as more light enters the camera while all other settings stay the same. Conversely, if the aperture is closed, the exposure will be darker as less light enters the camera while all other settings stay the same.

Q: 3. Where is the EM-10 Mark IV made?

A: The following unit is made in vietnam.

Q: 4. does this grip also fit on the mark 2 ? It looks to me it does but wanted to make sure and hear it from you guys, thanks, Frank

A: No, only the Mark 3.

Q: 5. Is the HD video still as soft as it was in the previous model? Does it offer contract and phase detect autofocus in 4k video recording?

A: Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV does not offer phase detection autofocus. It only has contrast detect. The video does not appear soft to me.

Q: 6. Does external video recording allow you to go longer than 29 minutes?

A: Yes, it does. External recorders like ones from Atomos or Blackmagic bypass the camera's recording limitation, as well as provide several other benefits. :)

Q: 7. Will video stop after 4GB or will it automatically start a new file (and continue to record up to 29 minutes)?

A: The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera with 14-42mm EZ Lens will record for 29 minutes and afterwards start a new file .

Q: 8. Does this model resolve focus stacking to a single, final image?

A: No, it remains as 8 images.

Q: 9. Does this camera come with a USB charging cable, a strap, and a printed manual?

A: Yes, but we always suggest charging batteries in a charger to avoid accidents from happening. Please review and see what chargers we have available. Q: 10. Does the camera come with a battery charging station?

[0.2 lb] I currently have 12 cameras including full frame, apsc and M43 bodies. The brands include Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic and Sony. This little beauty is the camera I use most often for casual walk-around shooting. I only shoot raw with my other cameras but this produces some of the nicest JPEGS, so it's the only one that I use mainly for JPEGs. The scene modes are effective especially the HDR for landscapes takes care of high-contrast scenes that are difficult to expose properly. The art filters are fun. There are a lot of settings to modify JPEGs. If you shoot raw, use the free Olympus Workspace software to process because it is really written to support Oly bodies best.

It is very light and the grip is better than any Olympus except for the E-M1 models. It is a delight to hold. The pancake kit lens is better than I expected although it really shines when paired with one of the many small Olympus primes. I especially enjoy it with the 25/1.8 and 60/3.5macro prime lenses. If the joy of photography is important to you, consider this camera even if there are more pro bodies out there.

[0.2 lb] I wanted an easy carry camera that I can take on my walks in the country. Also, I wanted higher quality images and the flexibility of manual settings. Price and good selection of lenses were also important. This camera does all that.
Something I would like that this camera doesn't have is an external mic input.
Overall very satisfied.

[Padded neoprene] This camera was recommended by my digital photography teacher and I'm so glad I got it. The functionally is quick to learn.

[Padded neoprene] This camera, with the 14 - 42 mm lens combination. is great. The image quality is excellent and the camera is user friendly. It has a few large dials on the top but I have learned how to use them effectively. I have been a long time Nikon user but got tired of lugging around big cameras and lenses. This camera is much smaller and more portable . I bought a wrist strap which is far more convenient the the provided neck strap and the whole thing fits in my pocket. I had an Olympus 14 - 150 mm lens on hand and the system worked flawlessly with that lens. I mainly travel travel photography and expect is will meet my needs. The video quality is very good as well as the Scene and Art modes. My only complaints are that it doesn't come with a battery charger and it doesn't have a port to install an external microphone. The battery can be charged in the camera with the supplied cable. I also had to download the user manual. Overall am very happy with this camera.

[0.2 lb] I always take pictures and take videos. I was looking for a small camera. I have a Canon sx40hs, it's a good camera but very bulky to me. This Olympus Em10 mk4 is compact camera, but the picture and videos are very clear. I love it

[Padded neoprene] I bought this camera three months ago and really enjoy it. I'd describe myself as an amateur photographer and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and traveling.

This camera is a great for the following reasons:
* High quality images
* Possibility to experiment with interchangeable lenses, aperture, shutter speed, etc.
* Compact and lightweight, making it easy to take along on hikes and travel
* About 1/3 the price of a full-frame professional camera.

The OMD EM10 is a micro four-thirds camera, which means the digital sensor is smaller than that of a full-frame camera (i.e., 17.3x13mm vs 36x24mm). This leads to slighly lower image quality but results in a camera that is lighter, smaller, and more affordable. Olympus is focused on this niche of micro four-thirds cameras and does a nice job.

A few tips:
* Lenses - Olympus offers a broad set of lenses. Search for the OM system lens roadmap. I suggest starting with the 25mm F1.8 lens, which is great for the outdoors and people shots. I suggest avoiding the 14-42mm kit lens, which is not very good.
* Sharpness and colors - When I compared pictures from the OMD EM10 to those of my iPhone, the OMD EM10 was much sharper. I have to credit the iPhone, however, for great colors thanks to amazing iPhone processing and color saturation. But you can adjust the OMD EM10 colors to taste with OM Workspace, the free software package that comes with the camera.
* Coaching - For further tips on how to use the camera, search for Robin Wong, who has created several entertaining and useful videos.
